I found myself rooting against Sean. I don't really dislike him (although apparently he thinks Trafalgar was a person?).

Brett got flustered in another clue and said "Who is Beverly Hills" but I'm sure he knew it was a place.

How quickly we forget Matt Amodio.

I got the impression they weren't sure about the 'adjacent letter' and might have been trying to figure out exactly what they wanted.

Like I did, confidently saying "E." Of course, I didn't take time to count because I was pos I was correct.

  3. I don't pay attention to any of the players. I don't even recognize 90 percent of them when they come back for tournaments. I just concentrate on the clues and if I can answer them. I even ignore the scores so don't care if a game is a runaway.

I was thinking Friday though, I hope one of the other players would find the DD so maybe I'm starting to notice Cris.

Meanwhile, I don't find anything off putting about him. He's just a normal guy, not a trained actor or thespian. I remember once being in a corporate film, I was to represent my department in the video. Every time I turned to face the camera to say my lines, I froze up and couldn't speak. And that was just at my place of work, not on the Jeopardy! set in front of zillions. And big GIANT cameras.

So I cut Cris and everyone else who appears on this nationally televised game show a HUGE bunch of slack. Everyone is entitled to be what is most comfortable for them, not for us.

Thanks, all, for setting me straight.  I feel silly.  I always thought it was a rivalry thing between the Packers and the Bears.  I know Wisconsinites said it a lot.

Well, there's always Aaron Rodgers, who shouted "I OWN YOU!" last time he was in Soldier Field. So there's that too!

I think Ken was making fun of the My Pillow Guy when  he said "the bears" while acknowledging that correct response.

No, he was referencing the recurring SNL sketch Bill Swerski's Super Fans: Da Bears. Bears fans are sitting around a table drinking beers and eating Polish. The boys give toast to "Da Bears," in their strong Chicago accents. There are multiple sketches, one of which one of the guys has a heart attack while eating the Polish. The other guys smack him on the chest to bring him back to life, then they all salute "Da Bears" with their beer mugs. Make note, it's DA Bears, not THE Bears. Chicago, dudes, Chicago! (She-KAW-go)

Here  is a story and a Thanksgiving Da Bears video that should clear up any questions.

Maybe it's just that Ken seems to excel at them. I always liked them, myself, but I do think Ken does a great job of making it relatively relaxed and fun.

Word a thousand times to this. Watch Mayim do an interview and her response is always "Awesome!" or something similar. Ken adds to the interview and, IMO, makes every player feel more important and welcome.

  7. When I saw the FJ category, I thought oh man, every poster is going to get this correct, everyone here is a Broadway musical fan. I answered easily, so am somewhat boggled that so few others did. I guess I live in Seinfeld's Bizarro World.

  8. This episode was such a waste of time for me. So the biggest story of the state fair is a cabbage? And not just any cabbage, but the biggest cabbage? So how big was it, show, and why didn't we get to see it. A story that fantastic needed at least one photo of the massive cabbage.

Biggest pumpkin, that I would buy. It's a real competition at several state fairs. The writers for this episode reminded me of the writers of the X File movie that was all about corn being pollinated by bees ... except corn is self-pollinating, bees have nothing to do with it. No one bothered to check fair categories? Someone in the writer's room likes cole slaw? State fair biggest pig, biggest steer, biggest gourd, yes, but biggest CABBAGE is worth a lead front-page story? If that's worth the front page, then stand back for the EXTRA edition featuring a story about a piece of paper that blew across the street in downtown Anchorage.

  9. I like Zach too and, of course, hope he does well. But then, I hope all players do well, there is no one I dislike. Seems it will be a challenge of the buzzers, I'm guessing all will know the answers but the win will go to the fastest thumb. I have no clue who that will be, but will be happy for whomever gets the win. It should be some great tv.

  10. A Fish Called Wanda was on tv, one of those antenna rerun stations, not long ago. I saw it when it first came out and, frankly, don't remember much about it. And I have no excuse for my memory loss, unlike @Clanstarling! It is, however, one of those classic films that lives forever.

I just looked it up ... gosh, it was released in 1988, a year that is kind of a blur anyway!

  11. I don't remember Rowan from before, but I absolutely loved them this episode and hope they go on to do well tomorrow AND in the TofC. I am Team Rowan all the way. What a contrast Rowan was to the player in the first podium; I actually was worried about her, she looked so bleak, and this after her interview about being in therapy. I hope she recovered well and is doing okay now.

  12. Anyone able to say "That man has an armadillo on his head" in Spanish?

I actually watched a couple minutes of Curious George last night to see tail or no tail for myself. He was wearing a long t-shirt but I concluded George is a chimpanzee so no tail. However, I wonder if his rear end is ever shown or is he always wearing clothing. Maybe his tail is folded up inside the shirt.

I also instagot The Little Engine That Could after just the first part of the clue,
which gave me extra time to think: The Little Engine That Could was a little girl like I was?!?!
    Hooray for Sadie!!!

And Ken was so wonderful at encouraging all of them, wasn't he?

I never gave a thought to the Little Engine being a girl. Who knew.

And yes, Ken is fabulous, such a gracious person. I HEART Ken.

I’m enjoying this tournament. I don’t really remember any of the contestants, though.

Same here. It's refreshing for me to watch and be happy with whomever wins, unlike the "regular" show where I often root for a specific person. All of the Second Chancers have been likable and I am happy for all of them. This is a fun tournament for me, sort of a "brain break."

I have no idea who Andre Braugher is.

Same here. Never heard of him or his show, and the same for Company the other day. People who can afford streaming and cable and all those other fancy channels have an advantage over poor people like me who can only afford free antenna tv. Kind of harsh to suggest we don't belong on Jeopardy because of it though. We do have our good qualities!

  16. Just a note to say Chapel Hart's record with Darius Rucker was released on Sept. 30, and they are listed to be on Opry Live on Circle network in the upcoming weeks. Didn't take long for them to get recognized. In fact, all of those things had to have happened before the AGT finale. Just sayin'.
