Since California is so physically big, there's a lot going on. For example, the Oroville dam is over 450 miles away from where I live. And earthquakes that are hardly shakers get reported on. Whenever I read about a tornado in another part of the country leveling a town and killing 20 people, I always think, WHY ISN'T THAT HEADLINE, FRONT PAGE NEWS?! I'm saying, as a Californian, I think our natural disasters make too much news, nationwide.

Yes, it's meee!! I've been busy with...stuff...For those who aren't on Facebook, the LiberryLord and I are no longer together. He moved on last spring. So I'm okay, but I've been in a weirdish place the last half-year. But! Good news! I got a new job! Next fall, I will FINALLY have my own classroom, a dream yearrrs in the making. Which is why I just spent the last two hours scrubbing my little blog of every damn, crap, hell, and mofo. I wanted to go to a local march, but had an all-day, prepaid class I had to take. I did wear my kitty ears to class, and this happened at break: Allison: "So, why the kitty ears?" Yes, he was a member of the Sno-Cone Patrol, and he did write a little fanfic, @Pixel. He never went here or to Facebook, so that makes it harder to remember him.

Hey, all. I know I haven't been around, and I know this is just about the Death Chicken-est of Death Chicken news to share, but I got a sad letter Monday. Do y'all remember Ohnomrbill from the old TWoP Chili's? He and I have emailed since our time there, but then I didn't hear from him since about April or so. I found out why when I got a letter from his brother: sadly, Bill died last May. So, yeah. I have his brother's address, if you want to send a card. It really makes you think, doesn't it? How people we only know on the Wide Wide World of Web would know if anything happened. Sorry to just drop in and be a bummer. :(

@Kalliste, I had that happen with vitamin D. I eat yogurt every day and am in the sun a lot, but I was deficient. (Btw, my ONCOLOGIST decided to leave the info re: this on my voice mail by just telling me to call her, and not saying it was about something trivial like a vitamin deficiency. She's normally wonderful, but she did this on a Friday so I spent the weekend worrying.) Anyhoo, the LiberryLad is also super-deficient in vitamin D, so maybe there's a genetic component? Like, there's some vitamins some people just have trouble processing? Haaalp. Why am I still not getting the updates of this thread? I thought I checked all the right boxes.
