I personally feel bad for Anna. I think Anna grew up learning and hearing that "you never leave a marriage" that "things will always just get better". I truly believe that Josh always had some type of issues and instead of Jim Bob and Michelle dealing with him they kept having kid after kid. I'm very curious to see if Anna changes at all. I keep thinking about Tammy Faye staying with her husband through everything and getting a divorce while he was in prison. Maybe that will be Anna maybe him being away will make her come to her senses. I really hope that she has some revelations of her own in the next couple of years.

Tammy Faye then married a other man who went to jail. Anna would likely not make the best choice the second time around either.

I think you're very likely to be right!

But I also think -- and have seen evidence to prove -- that we don't ever know how capable anybody is of change until they're dead. So I always hold out some hope!

I totally understand your position. And for any other crime than sexual predator  I would completely agree. But Josh Is just wired wrong and even with the best effort he will never be safe around children. And now with the internet he has far too many opportunities to backslide.

I think I just keep hoping that through all this Josh will finally figure out something about his life -- and have said to his family and to his lawyers, "Look, guys, this was actually right. I did this and the evidence proved it. And I'm a danger to others. I know that now and I know that I have to change my life. I need to get psychological and medical help with my frightening impulses. And pay my debt for this thing I just did that hurt some innocent people. It's time."

    I realize that sounds crazy.

But he's been a privileged and in some ways a quite lucky person throughout his life and now he's responsible for seven young children. So if those facts, plus this really sharp shock, don't make him at least temporarily recognize a bit of truth, then I tend to conclude that not only he but most of his misguided family too are never going to figure this out. They really are going to go on and on in denial and ignorance and arrogant insistence that nothing is ever ever their fault because they're Jesus's special people and now they're being persecuted. And that's going to make the raising and "education" of the Duggar-out-of-Gothard Generation 3 just as fucked up as the education of their parents.

I see his recalcitrance as a bad omen for the whole rapidly expanding family. .....Hopefully some of those who didn't come to the trial with a thumbs-up attitude are rethinking all this, though. Despite the central figures in this mess apparently being hopelessly lost.

Never happen. Josh is a predator and he won't ever stop on his own. Hopefully either Anna will leave and never let him see the kids again or the state will step in and take the kids

This is key.  Even if he did pull the trigger (without meaning to [e.g. without realizing he'd moved his finger enough to do so], or even intentionally as part of blocking the scene) but his mind has now convinced himself he didn't because inadvertently causing a death is too painful to live with, it doesn't say anything about his culpability - as an actor; depending on his producer responsibilities, he could be held partially liable due to lax hiring and oversight practices - because if the gun was as it should have been and was stated to him to be by the people responsible for ensuring that, he could have fired that trigger all day long and this wouldn't have happened.

In the interview he did Baldwin said the only say he had as a producer was some say in casting.

Same here! However; it should be noted that whenever he would travel and stay somewhere besides his own abode, for many decades Rev. Graham, Sr. always had one of his aides look under the mattress he was to sleep in- so as not to chance some groupie attempting to frame and/or have her way with him.

One may read the above as being extra-cautious OR wonder why he would have considered looking under there. . .

Maybe this happened to him and he wasn't going to have a repeat. Groupies can be relentless

It seems like a few weeks ago Darlene completely lost it that her mother was suffering and God didn't help, nothing helped. So there's pain there. But the writers pick it up and put it down, same as the pain of ALL the characters. Becky crying about throwing her life away for Mark even while acknowledging how much she loved him - THAT's the heart of this show that they are being stingy with in favor of slapstick and "ain't we all just a bunch of failures?!" The Conners always made loser jokes, but it was poking fun at the situations they were in, not that they were inherently worthless, which seems to be the attitude of these writers half the time.

I find it hard to believe that anybody is watching his OUTSIDE of fans of the original, so why not give us what we crave? If it were hit or miss, you could chalk it up to the brilliance of the original creative teams and say they tried their best. But they aren't trying and failing - they're going in completely different directions that insult the characters we're invested in.  In orientation were they given only tapes of the final post lottery seasons or something? Because that's the vibe they're serving up. When fans choose to ignore the final season retcons, it's for a reason.

God knows some of the funniest moments in my life have come at the absolutely worst moments - that's where Roseanne (the show) shined. Worried about a job interview? "Don't worry, you suck, no way they'll hire you." Served with a grin and a hug. Got to call relatives about a dead family member?  "She's fine, she sends her love!" The brilliance of the show was the ability to show struggling people coping with their lives with humor. Now we get martyrdom and insults.

He's in the vending machine business, isn't he?  Where I come from, that's the mob. For what it's worth.  (Apologies to non-mob vending machine business owners/primetimer readers)

DJ has a route filling  vending machines. He works for a company.

I think the kids miss their mom. But also don't want their dad to be alone. A weirdly mature attitude for the Connors but still understandable.

For someone who prides herself on being a cook and claims to love cooking and has been doing it since she was 14 her cooking  tools and  vessels are sorely lacking.

Not everyone wants or needs expensive or extensive tools to cook.

I think all of these story lines would have worked a lot better if Louise had been there.  Is Katey Sagal doing other shows?  Why is she on the road?

I would have expected the kids to have different reactions to Louise marrying Dan.  Maybe DJ, being the youngest, would take it hardest, and Becky would be ok with it because she already had known Louise from the bar, and Darlene could have felt nothing.  That could have been a story line for DJ, with his sisters, and with Dan.

The writers are spending a lot of time on Darlene's quest to find herself, but they never let her be without a boyfriend.  If she wants to find herself, attaching herself so quickly to one guy after another won't help.

Louise is away because Katy Sagal was hit by a car in October. She's expected to return in January.

Thou Shalt Not Steal.  Yeah, that gets you a one-way ticket to meet Satan every time.  A prank meant to stop the competition.  What is passing the neighbors off?  Passing by them or passing them off a some other people?  Every parent who disciplined their children or grandchildren in an unseemly fashion but didn't harm them would be in hell.  Does Aunt Jackie deserve to go to hell to because she slapped Darlene?

Pissing. Belittling your husband and not allowing him to help raise his own kids?

So far Izzy and Jacob have been fairly adament about their kid not being discussed on social media so I really don't expect them to announce it. I mean, they might, but more likely one of the family will let it slip.

They could just say she had the baby ( no details) and both are fine.

Just because someone can be horrible or mean doesn’t mean there are no people who love that person. Every human being isn’t supposed to be perfect. Even characters have their flaws it what makes them human.

No one in this world is meant to be perfect all the time and do no wrong. We all have done things we aren’t proud of, made choices that don’t align with someone else’s ideals but that doesn’t stop other people from caring about you. My grandfather wasn’t a great father from what I hear sometimes but that doesn’t mean me or the other grandkids or my grandmother or his sons and daughters didn’t love him. It has been 5 years since his passing and just seeing a photo of him when he was alive makes me cry because I miss him.

People loved Hitler too. Even horrid people may have people who love them or at least fear them enough to pretend. Roseanne Connor was horrid, the question was why would she deserve hell. There were myriads of reasons.

I don't buy it either.  I've been wracking my brain on why Roseanne Conner would deserve to be in hell.

I've already given my worthy of two cents thought on this.

How about stealing a second stove? Or breaking in to a rival and hiding dead fish to shut the B u siness down? And constantly, purposely passing the neighbors off?  Holding her granddaughter's head under water? She really was a horrible person

I wouldn't think Lilah or Murphy are at a higher danger than any other family with a child old enough to have Legos. I'd be more worried about stepping on one ;).

Hospital playroom are a different beast but a) this is a home shot, and b) hospital playroom use more supervision.

Legos are small enough for Lilah and Murphy to swallow and choke on.

Why have Jackson's surgery so close to the Christmas holidays? Why not wait til the new year? Zach is always home to help out with the kids during Tori's pregnancy. It doesn't make sense but who knows what goes on in Z&T's bird brains.

Why wait longer than necessary to improve your child's life? And now days you have to jump on available surgery dates

By all reports, including hers, she doesn't. She can't have had mastitis three times since Rad was born because it hasn't been long enough for that to happen. It doesn't "go away" and come back on a daily or weekly basis. If a doctor diagnosed her with it, she would be on antibiotics and with good reason, and she wouldn't likely be thru the course of antibiotics at this point. She wouldn't be feeling well enough to go on the Christmas Tree Annual Chop. Mastitis is an actual illness that puts you down for the count and needs medical intervention. She probably has clogged ducts, especially if Radley has a tongue tie making things worse and should REALLY consider formula if breastfeeding is so terrible for her.  There's no shame in that, her motherhood won't be revoked.

The reality is we don't knows he's breastfeeding. And if she's gives it up she cannot display her martyrdom. Same with t h e kid's tongue issues, she may well think it's gods will. Sanity ain't her strong suit. Before you'll jump all over me I have Midwestern, extreme conservatives who think just like this.
