  1. That is exactly my problem. I know a lot of the bad plot stuff wasn't in the comics - but the shoehorning in of "epic comic moments!!" makes a bad situation worse. Kirkman has been pissing himself to get to Negan on TV - so everything else got the bum's rush (as others have mentioned, Wolves buildup=zip, Terminus=zip, etc.) and filler crap just so we could get to the "Epic Negan Scene!". Doesn't work for me.
  2. I think that's the problem. The comics, for all their popularity, are just not that well written. Some of the weakest parts of this show are the ones that stick too close to the comics. They should have made that decision from the get go - stick to the comics (but write them better) or go a different way. The mish mash makes the show worse - because when they finally do canon comic bits, it doesn't fit and feels ridiculously cartoony. YMMV.
  3. I agree with you both,. I would have been ok with the mother dying, Ted moving on, heck I might have even been ok with him ending up with Robin (though I would have probably rolled my eyes out of their sockets) if they had handled it better. The kids reaction did feel really skeevy. Yes, it's been six years since their mother died - but come on, it was their MOTHER. They just heard a long story about how their father was forever hung up on an ex-girlfriend and their response is "Oh cool - you obviously love Aunt Robin, go for it!" No, a thousand times, no.
