  1. I missed the first hour (darn it, I missed the Caelyn/Dean action!), caught the last 45 minutes or so--man, the sweat was pouring off the guys (especially JPJ in that suit). Not exactly romantic. I wonder what the temp and humidity level were...

One dude was dancing by myself on the far left side of my screen. I wonder who that was. He was really starting to "get his groove on" when the camera broke away.

I thought they said that was Wells. Looked like him to me.

Aww, Blake's Bachelor audition was one big Fail.

Damn, once again I fail to see the obvious. Audition opportunity!

  3.  Wait, I might have misunderstood. Was Clay having reservations about Angela partly because he thought Angela wanted to be a homemaker and mother, not a career woman, and he was thus going to have to be the sole support (i.e., breadwinner) in the family?

  4. Does anyone besides me find it creepy--or should I say creepily voyeuristic--that we got a shot of Dylan and Hannah G in what appeared to be a tight, possibly post-coital embrace in the "boom boom" room?

It just strikes me that everything couples do in that room is recorded.  I don't care if the bodies are under the covers. Stuff happens. (I think we once saw a couple try to cover the cameras one season, didn't we?)

I can't help but think Mike Fleiss and random salacious minions had a great time poring over that footage. (Well, I'm not sure if Fleiss presently has access. But whatever.)  Strikes me as pervy. YMMV

  5. Hmm, so Derek is 32 and laments that he can't seem to find "the one". (Not sure if I bought that 100%, though.)

He may be a perfectly okay guy, and it's absolutely possible he has dated a lot but just hasn't found the one. But two other possibilities also occur to me:

    • If Derek really does have a pretty good female fan base, could it be that he's actually reluctant to settle with one person just yet? Because who knows if someone better might come along from Bachelor Nation tomorrow, so what's the rush?
    • I wonder if he's one of these Bachelor franchise guys whose currency has risen so much (from being on the show) that they're pickier than maybe they used to be.  Like, they cry that they can't find someone, but perhaps they used to be happy dating a "7" and now they require a "9"?

Purely conjecture. It's just that Derek seems like an okay guy, appears to have a decent job, and he's nice looking, so it's hard to buy that he just can't find anyone...

Edited to add:  What I dope I am! You guys are right. He was simply auditioning for The Bachelor with that sob story. I knew I didn't buy it....

Now I am actually rooting for Noah. He's weird and his food looks like actual shit but he seems like an agreeable dope and I think he'd do a fine job promoting the brand.

yes, they wanted his perceived image to be the "big (perhaps dumb) hick sewer worker from down south." Like sort of the Gomer Pyle of the kitchen.

zibnchy, preeya, you guys are hilarious!

zibnchy - talk about "damning with faint praise". :-)

  7. RedbirdNelly, I loved the commercial (over 2 million views on Youtube) and forget the creek--I was happy to see an older couple locked in what appears to be a passionate embrace instead of just tepidly giving one another a peck on the cheek or lips (which is what we usually see on TV).

  8. This season of BIP is the worst I've seen.  Most of it is just petty gossiping, sniping, and Demi providing silly commentary, like she's the show's self-appointed narrator.  Thank god for Chris/Krystal's wedding. Otherwise, there'd be precious little romance to be found this summer in Paradise.

  9. 1. Any time a Paradise participant whinges about how so-and-so is manipulative, you can bet that the whinger is DEMI. Because, irony.

    2. I had a guy break up with me because he lost his long-time job and suddenly his whole world was shaken.  A year or two later, he tentatively reached out to me again, but I had moved on.  Point being, it does happen. Not saying that Clay's NFL career possibly being over was necessarily the catalyst for the Clay/Angela break-up, but I could see it being a factor.

    3. Caelynn: Proof of why age 24 is the magic number on this show.

  10. I get that Tazhjuan took 4 planes and lost some luggage, and then she arrives at this hot, humid destination spot only to find that most everyone's coupled up. Sucks for her.

But a little bit of grace under pressure wouldn't hurt, Tazh.  Just sayin'.  And her whining reminds me of Ashley Iaconetti's whining, TBH.

  11. Credit to Dean for telling it like it isto Caelynn.  I wonder if they edited out him saying to her "I'm just here for the free vacation".

I ping-ponged back and forth between Caelynn's veneers and Dean's veneers.  Sometimes I feel like half the people on BiP have veneers and vocal fry.

  12. Guess I'll sit this one out like I did Colton's season. (Except I did watch the fence jump episode and what happened after, per Reality Steve's advisory.  And if RS says something interesting is going to happen in a specific episode of Peter's season, then sure, I may watch.)

I honestly have zero interest in this already established Player.  I mean, isn't Peter the one who introduced his GF to his family, discussed having children with her, and then wanted her to move to California from Florida--right up until he made it onto TB, and then he just broke it off? Wasn't that him?  Or am I remembering that wrong?

I guess that "auditioning" he and his family did paid off?

Well, she looked way better than some of those dresses that some pregnant women wear that make them look like stuffed sausages.

My thoughts exactly. I'm a baby boomer, and hey, while I'm not losing any sleep over women's personal preferences in maternity garments--wear what you want, fine by me-- I'm personally not a fan of today's popular skin-tight maternity dresses and tops that put every line and crevice of the woman's protruding navel on graphic display. Guess I'm old-fashioned that way.
