Gabby is GORGEOUS in the photo with her exit post. Accusations of her being on weight waning or soft? Not according to that photo!
Thanks to those who corrected me about her ethnicity. She is of Filipino descent, not Latina. I should be more conscientious and respectful before posting the wrong ethnicity of a person, especially when I'm ranting about the lack of diversity on DCC.
Still saddened and devastated that she was cut. She is stunning, a strong dancer, and a class act. So, I'll say it again... Until I learn that she did something truly heinous, then I 100% disagree with cutting her, especially her being the ONLY returning candidate cut!

From the 2010 Census, demographics of Dallas/Ft. Worth: 50.2% White, 27.5% Latino, 15.4% African-American, 5.9% Asian... Of course, many candidates come from outside Dallas/Ft. Worth, but as stated above by other posters, there is NO EXCUSE for the lack of diversity in DCC. In particular, for the young girls in DFW who attend cheer camps and other DCC events, wouldn't it be nice if they could see more faces that look like them?
Stop fixating on the legacies. Start focusing on building a team that represents the future. Rant over.

About Gabby... I loved her from last season and am sickened that she was cut. I realize that she has been on "weight warning," but so have a hundred other girls and they were not cut before training camp. In the words of Kitty Carter, doesn't she deserve the respect of time to get her weight in check?
Gabby is absolutely stunning, her dance ability is stronger than many others on the team, and she is a Latina (God forbid we consider representation of a significantly large population that comprises Dallas Cowboys fans). If TPTB are going to cut one returning candidate - and ONLY one returning candidate - then there must be a darn good reason. So, unless they prove to me that Gabby is eating small children with her breakfast cereal, then I'm in protest mode from now on.

Thanks for sharing this personal story. Gina has just earned extra points in my book for her kindness to your children, particularly for remembering your daughter's name. That shows a conscientious effort and interest on her part. I've been championing Heather over Gina for Point, but I don't dislike Gina. I don't know anything about her as a person, although now I know something positive from your post. 🙂

I agree with all of the above with one exception... I did not feel that excessive attention or camera time was given to Dayton last season. Maybe my memory is failing me (distinct possibility), but I only recall being frustrated with the excessive focus on Victoria & Malena.

Gina is too much of a me me me person to be a leader or point. She's a strong dancer but she gets so over the top she appears to rush things. I know people don't like Maddie's look... I don't like Gina's.. she is less HD friendly than several on the team. She has a sharp face, squinty eyes and is unpleasant to look at. People say she's grown ... I don't buy it... I think it's all an act on her part to push her way up the ladder. She's probably the most annoying team member in recent years that I've seen. That's just my opinion.... which in this world of DCC means nothing.
Like you, I am not a fan of Gina's look nor do I want her as point. I also do not see Maddie as point. My personal opinion... I like Heather for point. She has grown on me A LOT. I would like to see Amy in the triangle. My other faves who I would like to see near the front are Jalyn, Bridget, and Daphne (assuming she eats a hamburger and gains a few pounds).

Can I hit the "love" button 1,000 times on this post? Kitty Carter lost any ounce of respect that I had for her when she said that Victoria deserved the respect of another chance. She brands herself as the coach who "tells it like it is with no sugar coating," but that only works if you deliver the brutal truth to everyone equally.

I also believe she has been crash dieting. If she wanted to legitimately change her body, then she would have started one year ago when she was cut from training camp. Instead, she has been soft in all of her IG posts as well as the prep class videos that we have seen throughout recent months. Then, she suddenly dropped some weight and looks slimmer for auditions. That is not someone who made a legitimate change in their daily nutritional habits. I'm cheering for Lily & Kristen this year, and if one of them gets knocked-out unfairly to make room for VK, then I'm in for the protests and riots.

I'm thrilled that Kristen is doing well (as far as we know). She's actually one of my favorites who made it to Training Camp and then got cut (Lily was the other). She had way too much going on to be able to keep up at TC, but I think she has potential. I'd be fine with just Lily & Kristen coming to TC again and nobody else from last year's TC cuts. Yes, I know, I'm delusional.

Sadly, I think one correction needs to be made in the above calculations. There are 6 spots, not 7 spots at the start. We all know that VK is a done deal. Charlotte's daughter even tagged her (and only her) on her own IG today. For everyone other than VK, it will be an incredibly competitive season.

Amy for Group 1 leader! ... not just by default due to her tenure on the team, but because she has the maturity for the job.

This explains ALOT. I vaguely remember a scene on MTT in which Judy was quiet, but it was obvious that she had something to say, and Kelli even commented about Judy being quiet. Can you imagine being Judy and having to choreograph for DCC with VK on the team? What a challenge! Other than her flagrant blind spot when it came to her own daughter, Judy seems to have the most practical eye for who has the necessary dance ability for DCC.

Back to the topic of who could be cut from the current squad in the upcoming auditions, the ones that impress me the least are Christina, Savannah, and both Rachels. This is based solely on how they stand-out to me with their dancing, nothing about politics or their personal beliefs.
I am a Gabby fan. I think she is stunning and a talented dancer. Since we all know that Victoria will be making the team this next season and the odds of her being overweight are 100%, then cutting any veteran for weight is absolutely unacceptable.
I'm also a Daphne fan. In fact, my favorite rookies are Daphne, Jalyn, and Bridget. But like others, I find her weight concerning. I hope she shows up to auditions at a healthy weight.
I'm undecided on triangle/point because my vote was for Khalyn at point, and then she decided to retire. 😞

Amy's cut scene was heavily edited to make her look bad, so they had an excuse to cut her. They also covered up the real story of what happened with Courtney and Kaitlin. They want the girls to fit in their precious uniforms, but it can come at a price. Courtney and Kaitlin are perfect examples of the damage coming from dangerous methods of weight loss. I mean they took Courtney back after her scary finals interview scene in Season 8, and she was showing signs something was seriously wrong. Judy, Kelli and Charlotte knows what the girls are doing and only step in when they think the truth will damage their reputation.
The fact that they edited Amy's cut scene to make her look incompetent greatly bothers me. Talk about kicking a person when they are already down.

Lily's cut was exactly as you describe it - CHOP you're done. It seemed so out of the blue because we had no prior knowledge of her at all. Since the show focused so much on another individual all season, then we never heard anything about Lily until the random moment of her cut. If she does tryout again this season, I hope we actually get to see her.

Sadly, I agree with you 100%. I am someone who has absolutely zero knowledge of anything behind-the-scenes at DCC. In fact, the reason that I ever found this discussion board was last season when I was watching MTT and my jaw hit the floor as I could not comprehend what was being broadcast on my television screen. I did a Google search to find out what the hell was going on with the DCC auditions. I could not figure out why this person named Victoria was featured ubiquitously and skated through round after round when she was clearly not as polished, mature, or fit as so many other candidates. I came across this discussion forum. My point in sharing this?... A random person who has watched MTT since Season 1 said, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark (er, Texas)," and if I picked-up on the favoritism of Victoria Kalina by simply watching the footage aired, then there is no denying it.

Ditto your comment about Jalyn. She's been one of my favorite rookies all year, and I want to see her solo. I'd also like to see Ashlee's solo & Daphne's solo (hoping Daphne looks healthier). From the solos that we did get to see, Bridget impressed me the most.
