  1. Standouts for me include the one where they wind up in court because Archie has a tear gas sprayer. The judge asks if the police officer that found the canister had a warrant and Archie says "you don't get a warrant with them things. They either work or they don't".

The one with Edith's lesbian cousin dying. Edith in all her innocence remarks that Liz was a schoolteacher and never made much money which was why she had to share the apartment.

The one with cousin Amelia where Archie and Russ are at Kelseys and Russ is bragging about having an affair with his young secretary. "You know what she calls me?" And Archie deadpans "Grandpa?"

USA showed "One" and "Art" in late night last night. Early Bobby was so cocky and had a smart ass vibe about him. While he could have a sharp tongue later, I missed his earlier confidence. And "Art", I still can't believe the actress that played Sylvia Moon became fragile Jenny/Wendy LeBlanc in "Prisoner" in S5.

Elizabeth Marvel definitely did a good job with two such wildly different characters.

Holy fuck...I NEVER made that connection. And I adore both episodes.

Another one I just remembered, I always watch the episode, "Haunted." I like the Fin-centric ones.

I love Haunted. The ending where he's holding the baby and saying "There's grandma" is precious. I also loved "Raw" and can hatewatch the ridiculousness that is "911" forever. That episode literally bookends stupudity....starting with Liv being called away from her date because nobody else in the entire squad can talk to a kid on the phone, and ending with said kid being alive after she was buried in a plastic bag.

  4. My other favorites are the frequency with which detectives use "inevitable discovery" and "exigent circumstances". Like "we don't have a warrant so we'll just say we heard a cry for help coming from the apartment." Or "we may not have had a warrant but we'd have found it anyway so we'll use inevitable discovery."

And the sociopathic kids. In addition to the Mothership "Killerz" There's 2 SVU episodes with sociopathic kids. Plus the Mothership episode with Ellen Pompeo where she rapes her sister and then asks the detectives if they found her earings.

Lennie also always knew right away that an alleged address would be located at a place "in the middle of the East River."

To be fair anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of Manhattan would know that. Street addresses start low/single digits off Fifth Avenue and get higher as they move towards the East/Hudson Rivers.  A street address like 800 East 56th Street would obviously in fact be in the East River.

My favorite corollary on the bartender trope is the retail clerk or restaurant host that always has receipts from recent transactions just sitting there. The detective will suggest they "check the receipts" to find a suspect's name or when he was at the store.

  6. Can anyone who's a dancer or dance instructor explain something? Denise was wearing a sweatshirt tied around her waist while she was teaching. There have been innumerable linked videos of dance classes and practices with girls wearing shirts or sweatshirts tied around their waists. Is this a fashion thing? It seems impractical and like it would get in the way.

I am very surprised they had her in the office and don’t bring up the weight thing.  It’s her most glaring issue and they keep bringing up this non-specific “you didn’t stand out to someone else besides us” stuff instead of giving her real feedback.  Maybe they actually are and it’s all edited, but it’s confusing for the viewer.

It seems like the sort of thing they'd edit out. Remember Kelli is a producer, so she can decide what makes it in. Public critique of her size may be actually emotionally damaging to somebody like her. Slightly OT but does anyone remember how Meredith Oden was always heavy? Maybe it's a legacy thing.
