I think some of the ones who hoard books and newspapers feel that they are saving knowledge. One of the show's the therapists told a newspaper hoarder that all the information he was saving was online where he could easily access it, but it just wasn't the same for him as having stacks of papers and books.
Books are a particularly dangerous thing to hoard because they are flammable and very heavy. They can cause ceilings to fall in and if they fall on the hoarder it could kill him.
On one of the UK shows -- the one with the Greek/Cypriot doctor -- there was a man who had every issue of every newspaper, and they were stacked all around his property, even outside. He refused to get rid of them because he "might need to find an article."
(Just a couple of years ago, that same man ended up on an episode of Antiques Roadshow with a piece of porcelain that ended up being quite valuable. My first thought was well, that is going to be a justification for entire hoard! lol)

The one crazy conspiracy theory that I 100% subscribe to is that I believe there was a John Doe #2, and that he was an undercover FBI agent.

When did court officers and cops start carrying guns in NYC? Admittedly it’s been many years since I served on a jury but I thought they had to lock up their weapons before entering the courtroom? Because otherwise they leave themselves open to exactly this scenario…
I work in the court system, and while cops aren't allowed to carry their weapons into the courthouse, our court officers are armed with both tasers and guns.

Remind me: Does PBS make cuts to the Christmas specials? For some reason, I was thinking they don't.

I basically stopped watched SVU and only Law and Order because of Olivia Benson and yet, there she is. Please make her stay in her own lane.
Saaaame. It's so strange that a character who is supposed to be an advocate and a hero makes me cheer for rapers and murderers. Good job, writers!

I'm in the US but have already seen S4 (I have...ways). It's really quite good, with a 😮 twist at the end.

I was trying to figure this house out. In overhead shots it looked like it was next to a warehouse or something, and really close to it. Was that also part of the property? This house also literally stood out as taller than anything around it, and looked like nothing else.
The older areas of STL are like that. Gorgeous old homes next to industrial areas.

SpoilerGah! Delete that above comment, mods.
On another site, a man who was at the cleanup said he didn't know why they put all those live trees and random branches in Terri's house, and that they were removed the next day. He said her plumbing and water were fixed the next day as well, and that Terri has been doing great.
I am SUCH a sucker for a 30s-40s Craftsman-style farm house like Terri's, so I was happy to see that it wasn't so trashed and damaged she couldn't live in it.

I've only watched a few episodes of Morse, so I do know that Strange is a character on it. How is Joan dealt with? Jim never mentions his wife? No flinch from Morse when he does?

Wasn't Monette (interesting name 😉) a member of the world's oldest profession? & when they told Charlene, what was her response? Or do I have the wrong episode?
Monette is a town in Arkansas, right on the Missouri line not too far from Poplar Bluff.

Can someone tell me what season I am watching? The last episode I just watched on KPBS San Diego had Father Brown and the two ladies helping Inspector Sullivan who was being framed by his corrupt London superior. At the end the inspector chooses to stay in Kembleford. It's become pretty clear why. Smiles. He is smitten with Mrs DeVine and vice versa. Is this season 10?
Per the rules I didn't spoiler this post.
Yes. That is the first episode of Season 10.

S24.E22 Look the Other Way
in Law & Order
As someone who works in the court system, the entirety of her office would have had to recuse themselves. I know the DA's office in NYC is huge, but no way would Nolan been first chair. They would need to bring in a prosecutor from another division or another county.
