Although stilt walking has been around for centuries, it wasn't a common thing to see them at a dinky small town carnival back in the 80s. In the last decade, it's become a common enough performance skill that they're at music festivals, corporate parties, and other events but I don't recall seeing any outside of Ringling Brothers back in the 80s. Apparently the Hawkins fun fair was fancy enough to have them though because I definitely spotted one in S3.E7!

I saw stilt walkers at dinky small town parades in Wisconsin in the 80s, so this is plausible to me.

  2. I just finished up re-listening to the season 6 AWT podcasts.  I'm so infuriated that Kelly did not call the cops when Colin showed up on her doorstep after he was supposed to turn himself in at prison.  And then she is a smug bitch to Val, ugh!!!

TAT looked SMOKIN in the finale, as she did throughout most of her seasons. No one would have given any other girl a second look with Val around!

Gina is the only one that comes close, which makes it ridiculous that everyone would be pining after Kelly and Donna, instead of Val or Gina.

That's exactly where I am on guys falling all over Donna. Specifically Cliff, or, as David referred to him, "Rescue 911", & the surfer dude, I think his real name is Shawn Christian. There was also a guy who had something to do with coffee, & another one who was involved in the website for Now Wear This. I do think that once people got to know her, she became more attractive, but for men to just see her & fawn all over her was a stretch.

Again, though, in a lineup, I think Gina & Val would win most men over in a heartbeat. Even today, they're both still knockouts.

I think you mean the beach volleyball player, Wayne.

I am not on board with resurrecting 30-year-old drama. Everyone had the same story about Shannon back in the day. I'm sure she's matured but no one was more nasty about her than Jason - as recently as 2016 in fact. Luke disliked her so much he literally went to Charles Rosin, broke up Brenda and Dylan, and invented Dylan and Kelly as a couple. And yet, somehow, the other females are still being labeled as catty bitches when they did nothing more than their male co-stars to handle a notoriously problematic colleague.

There were rumors after Shannen had left the show, that Jennie and Tori were not welcoming to any new actress on the show. shrug.

  6. I was surprised Brittany lasted longer than Suzy and Marissa, since both of them kissed Pauly, and I couldn't even tell you if Brittany was into either Pauly or Vinny.

Not surprised that Elle is still there, but I may have kicked her off for that weird white short outfit at the last elimination.

So it's basically Nikki vs. Derryn for Pauly, and Alysse vs. Maria for Vinny, with Elle as spoiler.

  7. I'm listening to Sirius' 90s station and the Jamie Walters original "Hold On" is playing. I'm embarrassed that I could identify it from the opening chords, and that I'm not getting out of my car until it's over.

  8. Camille signals that the end is near, hooray!

I also posted this on the Again With This website, but I think it's plausible that Steve could have hooked up with Darby in season 5.  He didn't have a love interest after he hooked up with Val in the fire episode, which was before Christmas.  Not that I want to give the writers credit though!

I thought of Kini’s too.  I was with Brandon in the amazement that he was able to anchor all that stuff on tulle.

I feel like this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Nina gush about someone she thought was “new” and “fresh” and “amazing” that also seemed very emperor has no clothes.  I can’t put. My finger on who it was though.

    Probably Gretchen or Erin.

I really hope they don't do a "surprise" elimination and have a final 3. I know they've done this before but, ugh, imagine doing all that work for months and then not even getting to show it. It's really an awful thing to do to someone.

The "eliminated" designer usually still shows at Fashion Week though.  They are just not part of the televised show or up for the win.

  11. I'm re-listening to the season 5 podcasts right now, and am on the episode after Christmas where Val tells Brandon & Kelly that she went to Jamaica instead of Buffalo. Kelly of course flips out to Brandon and calls Val a compulsive liar. I kept saying WHO CARES?!? Did B&K pay for her plane ticket? It's really none if their business and why the hell would Val need to confirm her travel plans with them?? Brandon even called Val's mom, who confirmed that she knew Val went to Jamaica. Ugh.

But it's so functional! If you happen to decide to go camping at the last minute, you already have a sleeping bag with you!

And didn't he make something not so "puffy sleeping bag" during the camping challenge??  I'll have to go back and look at the pictures.  I might be thinking of the Dapper Dan challenge, because I thought he'd make a puffy coat for that.

I feel like this is pretty typical for Brandon though. He exhibits zero personality outside of Perpetually Cranky Father, and yet pretty much every woman he's ever interacted with has thrown herself at him. Kelly, Valerie, Ginger, Tracy, Emma, Emily, Clare, Nikki...the list goes on. The only two who didn't really were Susan and Lucinda. Although with Susan, his "charm" eventually wore her down to the point where she couldn't resist any longer (excuse me while my eyes roll into the back of my head), and Lucinda basically hated him the whole time (justifiably), but was framed as a selfish maneater who didn't deserve upstanding, innocent Brandon. So neither are great examples.

Honestly I know the writers made some big mistakes throughout this series, but for me, one of the most egregious was trying to sell Brandon Walsh as the paragon of irresistible masculine sexuality.

    Don't forget about Ohhhndrea!
