  1. Hi! I know this is a super late response but I just watched this episode, S05E09 The M.V.P. The front of David's sweater says "Beauty &" and the back says "& Youth".
  2. But that hat though...I want that hat! Haven't watched tonights episode yet, so no comment yet.
  3. I agree with everything here, @katisha. I would have eaten every dish the orange team put out, they all looked so delicious. Khanh did a great job running the show.
  4. Dani joins Loki in the annals of Masterchef AU history. Oh well. Callum, Callum, Callum. The judges are chewing on potato chips. They're asking for something crunchy. To put in their mouth and crunch with their teeth. Not cracking crab shells. I'm also surprised that the amount of extra coconut rum he put in his caramel didn't overpower everything with booze. Same with you Hayden. I think even if the pappadaums were correct, we would have seen him in round 2 because his main dish was curry. Basically with a cracker. After the promo said something like, "unexpected elimination" or whatever, I turned to Mr D and said, "Well, either Dani is going home wearing the pin or the police are going to break in during the cook and drag Ben out in cuffs." I'm kind of disappointed it wasn't the latter.
  5. Oh the drama. Will she finish in time yet again? Of course she will. Sick of this schtick. I always have liked Laura but if I'm going to be annoyed by Ben and his ice cream every cook, then I'm going to be annoyed with Laura and her cheesy pasta every cook. What did I like this episode? Amina. And Melissa's outfit.
  6. Fancy, teeny-weeny desserts isn't all Reynold does. He makes fancy teeny-weeny fish dishes and teeny-weeny quail too!
  7. I want those noodles Brendan made. Right now. In my pie hole.
  8. Mr. DG thought it looked like road kill. I have nothing to say about Ben's chicken foot caramel with ice cream that doesn't involve the F-word so I'm keeping my opinion to myself. Ben in the immunity cook (paraphrasing): things are going really badly right now. Mr DG: Dude, they're about to get much worse. Me too! I thought she looked lovely. I find her clothing choices to be really stylish, but that may just be me. Good job Sarah T! I was happy that her meat came out so tender, I was worried. Though, I wouldn't have minded Laura winning either, thought her dish looked pretty dang tasty. I really did enjoy the masterclass. Loved the idea of Jock showing us what he would have done with Melissa's mystery box. I also liked that they had some of the contestants demonstrate their techniques. A number of them are pretty much professionals now, so that is fun to see, although I think it is more for us than the other contestants. No comment on the ice cream. No. Fucking. Comment.
  9. I completely agree with all of this, @katisha. I am disappointed. I thought Lynton would have lasted longer. It seemed to me that his heart really wasn't in it. I grabbed the recipe for Laura's cacio e pepe off the website. I just have to get the flours and I can make it. It really appealed to the pasta-lover in me. I was glad Reynold chose to cook savory. Chris actually appealed to me, both with his cheesecake (I seriously love cheesecake) and his story. I thought Poh's cake looked beautiful. I would actually try Courtney's cauliflower and I really don't like cauliflower. I think half the appeal was how the judges were going on about the aroma. And again, Reece didn't annoy me. And no Jess blabbering and giggling!
  10. You aren't going nuts. From her Season 10 bio: "At 26, Sarah moved to Sydney where she worked in hospitality and later met her husband, Brazilian-born Doug. They are proud parents to Elvis, aged three." I enjoyed Gordon's cook and would like to try it at home sometime, though I'll have to find a different fish to use. I'm hoping Rose goes home this first week.
  11. I've found Poh annoying since her audition, where she should have been sent home. I mean seriously, she cooked them a dish they hated then said, "oh but what I really wanted to make you was this OTHER dish" and they said, "OK well make us that dish and then come back!" I'm pretty sure she panicked in a lot of the cooks. Then at another point in the season she screwed something else up and they let her go back to the store or something to fix it. At least that's how I remember it, maybe I'm wrong. As for Chris, he has always been a superdouche. He's another one of the "villians" that @Myriad comments about them always needing. While Rose brings incompetence but she's not an ass, Chris manages to be an ass and incompetent. Although, I guess he and Julia have a fairly successful restaurant? So here in epi 2 the three "dessert masters" end up screwing up dessert. Glad the green team added the lamb to the main and good on the boys for cooking it perfectly. Did Gordon say, "I have eyes in my asshole" or did I mishear that? I hope to god I misheard that. I'm still not annoyed by Reece and Gordon didn't bother me too much either. I must have a fever. Speaking of Gordon, I am so glad they replayed that salmon clip. The first time I saw that, I laughed so hard I had to rewind and watch it three more times. The poor soul who had to dig that piece of fish out from under that wall thingy! I do like the twist. Less immunity pins and less safety. I like it. I wish more shows would do it. (do you hear me, Survivor?) So elimination doesn't happen until Sunday? Hm, maybe only three episodes per week then.
  12. I always found it interesting that MCUK follows a completely different format, while all others have chosen to follow the MCAU format. I like both TBH, it's a nice switch to watch the UK format with the rounds. BTW @TVbitch I was also wondering how many epis per week, if they're cutting out an immunity challenge, will they replace it with something else or air one less episode per week?
  13. So excited for this season! I love Dani and Laura and Lynton and Amelia and Callum and Khahn and...and...Reece isn't annoying me (I think it's because he got rid of that awful hair. What can I say, I'm shallow.) It doesn't look like Jess has matured very much since S10. That dish from Dani looked so good, although so did the other three top dishes (pass that eclair through my television straight to my couch, thank you!). I like Reynold, but I really really hope he does branch out from the desserts like he said. I was cracking up at Reece and his balloons. Everyone is frantically running around. Reece blows up a balloon. Everyone is cooking madly. Reece blows up a balloon. Reece runs by with a bowl of stuff...while blowing up a balloon. I was dying. It will be interesting to see how they handle Ben Ungermann's departure. I was surprised he had a talking head in E1. I find Poh as annoying as always. Rose. Why is Rose there? Why?
  14. Wait...there's a guy named Joe? Maybe it's because it is early on, or maybe because I have so much else going on in my life right now (hello clearing property and building a new house in a completely different state!) but I'm having a hard time getting invested in this season.
  15. I just finally caught up. I'll summarize. Like: Tess(a?), Tati, Big Nose One Pancake, Anushka (because I find her to be like a cute little mouse I want to stick in my pocket who will make me tiny layer cakes) Dislike: Abbey, Steph (I have an automatic irrational dislike for people who wear those glasses and that hair lol and her spastic cooking annoys me), Meh: Derek (who has slipped from the like category from sheer lack of good judgement of late), Jess, Walleed (because I have zero idea what he actually cooks), Hipster Moustache Guy, Get a Haircut Dude, Prince Fauxrry, and everyone else because I don't know who they are. Bonus Like: Rick Stein simply for the "it's just me!" after the fangirling by Tess(a?). Bonus Dislike: Nigella. And this pains me to say because for years I liked her and I love her recipes, but the more I see her (especially interacting on this show) the more fake she seems to me. The smiles seem forced, the comments seem forced. It may be just me...heck it probably is just me. Though, she wins a couple of points back for the eyebrow raise while Steph was "leading" her team in the library challenge. Because I was totally giving the same look from my couch. Anyway, these opinions are solely my own and based upon some irrational feelings I have and not necessarily on the competence of the individuals. Although I do want to eat Tati's whole fish in banana leaf and Jess's pav (dying to try my first pav). Mmmmmm food.
