I was furious over the comments made by the "Expats".  @mamadrama and @OrchidThief, hey, ya'll!  Nothing is more beautiful than the Blue Ridge in fall.  Speaking as a Small Town North Carolina girl, WE READ, WE WRITE, WE EVEN GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER!  Batman wanted to know how I could have let the Expats in the yard to see all the chains and cages.

I face this all the time (left NC in 78 but went back every eight weeks until my parents died last year). The bias against us is quite unbelievable. I ghosted a friend when he went into a diatribe about southern bigots after the Charlottesville incident a couple years back -- which was perpetrated by white supremicists from OREGON. Argh.

They even told her they feel like she just wants to move to Turkey and leaving them. Yeah, that's your kids screaming out for some kind of affirmation or reassurance that you love them and will be there for them.  She just makes my blood boil...

Honestly, she seems not quite right in the head...developmentally disabled, perhaps. That older son is really impressive. He's going places.

Yes, Mamadrama is. And guess what? The Appalachian mountains have not vaporized! They are *literally* still there!

Robert and Anny - The personal trainer is not a relationship counsellor. Anny, you could have insisted that your conversation with him would be in English. I sometimes get turned off by people who have conversations around me in another language. It's probably not true, but I wonder if they are talking about me. I wouldn't understand it so I would think nothing of it.  And they are getting the last laugh. Grandma looked really good. Her husband made some appropriate observations about Robert just looking for a housekeeper and nanny for Bryson.

Emily and Sasha - Emily, Sasha is over his third kid. You are not special to him, other than being American and now the kid has a tie to the US. He has no interest in the kid, probably little in you at this point and is probably looking at finding a new woman and prospective baby mama. The kind of man who is pleased at being part of the conception but wants no part of fatherhood.

Tania and Syngin - Life in the she-shed must not be that great. Time to meet the family, meet the sister's baby and be pressured about more babies. And Tania's idiocy that there is a huge grandfather clock inside her and that her eggs will become a Dateline NBC special and vanish without a trace. Syngin really hasn't been asked how *he* feels. Ah, but he is unimportant in your grand life plan. Just a donor for a kid that you will pass off to your relatives to take care of while your next journey takes you somewhere in the south seas to become a headhunter! Plus the whole wee-hoo-la-la talk about going to Costa Rica to become a witch doctor. Um, you should have done that before Syngin showed up in your life story - or his half-chapter. How does that help with an idea for a business? You can't even clean your she-shed and expect to make totem poles and put things in to cauldrons and make voodoo dolls?

I also didn't like the her being able to drive a stick shift childish innuendo. Ugh.

Hmm. I’ve only owned stick shift cars for the last 43 years and rarely have run across anyone else who can drive one. How on earth is being able to drive a stick “childish,” now?

Although, I'm fairness to her, Blake is always on 10, even sober so he is probably at a 15 when he is drunk so I might not want him drinking too much.

Sorry I’m old and too stupid to understand the lingo. What does “on 10” mean? And “15?”

  5. So let's have sex that isn't in any way gratifying, pop out a kid in unbellieveable pain when you forgot to go to college to make a living, and then have to pay for the spud for the next two decades? Girls, you're not exactly representing us well.

I kindly ask my hubby to loosen a few jars before he leaves for a weekend.  The man tightens jars with the hand of God, I swear!!!  I once asked a male cashier to loosen a jar of spaghetti sauce before leaving a store.  Yes I am a wimp.  Luckily I don't care for pickles, lol!!!

Are we still actually talking about literal glass jars here...or something more?

I got this item for my very elderly mother after my dad died. Electric jar opener. Works great. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/black-decker-lids-off-automatic-jar-opener-black/7326832.p?skuId=7326832&ref=212&loc=BM01&gclsrc=aw.ds&ds_rl=1260672&ds_rl=1266837&ds_rl=1260441&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3OPPqfWN5gIVkLfsCh13EwdbEAAYAiAAEgJhyvD_BwE

There are going to be a lot of WTF reactions to the future plot with that 9 month time jump near the end but for me the biggest was the quickest moment - Kate signed that police form with the last name Pearson.  In just nine months?  That is huge, very much need to know what the deal is going to be with that.

I don't get it at all, and I'm in the TV business. There were two different houses, two different plots, it seems to have been a massive production error.

It's hard for me to care about any marital problem between Kate and Toby when Kate is such an underwritten character and I feel like the writers are doing a 180 on Toby's character.  Why is Kate alone with Jack all the time--Is it because Toby is obsessed with Crossfit and prioritizes that over his marriage?  Is it because Kate does not want to leave Jack?  Is Toby giving Kate the opportunity to leave the house for a few hours on an Saturday to spend time on her herself?  Is Kate still friends with Madison?  What kind of support system does Kate actually have?

The writers aren't doing the work for this storyline to make any sense.  It's almost like they decided "well Rebecca and Jack had marital problems in season 2, Randall and Beth in season 3, so for Season 4 it's Kate and Toby's turn."

On another note, Griffin Dunne is killing it.

    Kate's alone a lot because Toby works full-time and Kate's a SAHM.

    What on earth is SAHM?

On the police taking Rebecca "home"...assuming this is the same cabin they used to go to when the kids were young, she may have remembered the address. Alzheimer's, at least, typically affects short-term memory first. I would think some other forms of dementia do as well. It's not that far in the future so she's probably still in a relatively early stage.

I was mystified by this and think it was a production goof. Why were there two different houses?

I have no idea why people do not take care of those things, she reminds me of the Austin Powers with the mole, moley, molllleeee turrets episode he went thru with Fred Savage's character.

Are they dangerous? Or just unsightly?

I'm not prone to moles, but friends who are give me the impression you're better off leaving any benign ones alone.

Mursel is an asshole, too. Anna’s son is too insightful and intelligent for this show. All the kids are.

They should have a tell all with just the kids this season.

Honestly, both Mursel and Anna seem developmentally challenged, as does Mommy Anna. The kids' father must be pretty terrific, because the oldest son is impressive. Can I adopt him?

Although, I'm sure the  REAL reason behind the second hand store was filming privileges.

Also, the clerk was quite charming and obviously compromised and trying very hard. I hope she gets a launch into something better off the show. I liked her!

I was also wondering if it was legal to pop open the champagne at JFK.

    https://www.jfkt4.nyc/rules-regulations/

    ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

No person shall drink or carry an open alcoholic beverage except where alcoholic beverages are served for on-premises consumption. Any person who appears intoxicated shall be asked to leave the premises.

Thank you!  I was wondering that last night, too:  Little Miss Social Warrior Who Needs Spelling Lessons:  Can you even pop that champagne?  I wanted the damn cork to go into someone'e eye (sorry I had to say it.)

There was a railing right behind them, so I bet the paid a restaurant for their patio seating area -- before the restaurant was open for the day. Also obviously that wasn't a random janitor...if I were a producer, I'd definitely write him sweeping up the rose petals into the script!!

Hahahahahahahaha right? It's not a language barrier,  it's a decibel thing 😂 And it also helps if you repeat...it...slowly...so...they...will...understand

Yeah, Russian ESL girl does the thing of some ambiguous accent (in English) and truncating words "T?" instead of simply, "tea" so the "idiot foreigners" can understand.

Okay overnight flight not technically a redeye.

Now I'm just being silly, but overnight flights are all eastbound because of the time change (leave at midnight, get in morning; opposite way you arrive not long after you leave as the clock spins backwards). Not nitpicking, except for picking at my red eyes for moving as far away from my family as overnight flights can take me. It's nice westbound because you leave at dinnertime and get in the same night in time for a nice after-dinner port two-buck chuck with your 90DF tape.
