She always said kiddo.
Yes, and that was the moment that whoever she was saying it to knew that they'd seriously screwed up and was about to get a tongue lashing.

I was never a huge fan of the show, but I always liked Kim.

OMG - I cannot wait!
Them including the Grandmother's own words from her letter with her will/diary makes me very hopeful.
But we all know, it's VC Andrews...even if it's bad, it's still good.
The younger Corrine actress is perfect - she could pass for a younger Heather Graham.
Although Malcolm should be blond (but it's Max, so I don't mind) and Alicia should be a strawberry blond, but I won't quibble because I'm just so excited for this.
They must have heard the complaints of the multiple people who have stated that these movies should have been miniseries, because that's how they're going to present this one. In fact, it's actually a limited series of four episodes to be aired over as many weeks.

FYI, "The Ten Commandments" will be aired tomorrow instead of the typical Easter Saturday.

Now, this makes me sad. From everything I saw, they had a very happy marriage

Well, in fairness, Covid was responsible for screwing up the last two years, but yeah, this was definitely better.
The 2020 awards went off hitch-free. The pandemic was brewing but hadn't completely blown up yet. In America at least, the world didn't come to a screeching halt until early March.

The uncensored version of that "lovely" moment:
Yikes.

think both look bad, in this scenario.
Exactly. Two wrongs don't make a right. Rock's joke may have been rude and insensitive, but Will taking it to the point of physical violence was uncalled for. As written, call him out verbally, give him a death glare, but hitting him crosses the line

A lot left to go. I guess next year all we’re getting live are director, acting, and BP
They might as well. When all is said and done, those are basically the only awards most people care about.

I'm really enjoying the "In Memoriam" segment this year. I'm impressed with the choice of more upbeat songs this year, not to mention the use of a choir instead of an individual singer.

Jada has alopecia, that causes the loss of most or all of her hair. That was a really tacky joke
Ouch.
And if Chris Rock didn't know that, then double ouch.
Well, it's safe to guess what's going to be on the "worst"/WTF list during the recaps tomorrow.

Yay! Summer of Soul was great! So much fun, and so much great music. I highly recommend it.
I saw it last year and I loved it. Its Oscar is well deserved.
Billie Eilish had me crying with her rendition of "No Time To Die".

It's nice to see an American woman on the podium again (we have a haul of 70-something medals, including five consecutive wins by Carol Heiss and that famous 1991 sweep)

I loved this.
My favorite moment in a wedding ceremony is when the couple kneels at the altar for the blessing of the marriage, but you never see that depicted on TV (hell, TV leaves out a LOT of what happens in your average ceremony), so I was glad to see that moment for Lucille and Cyril.

Holiday TV Movies & (Non-Rankin Bass) Holiday Specials - General Discussion
in Holiday TV Movies & (Non-Rankin Bass) Holiday Specials
Well, back on topic, I watched it as I usually do, and even as I'm always floored by its length, it is truly an epic and an excellent film.
