I think a great plot twist for Chen's "puppy" (as Bradford calls her, I have no idea what the character's name is), would be for nothing to happen to her.  It would be so nice to have a young female character not be the victim of a (actual or attempted) rape, kidnapping, domestic violence, etc.

That WOULD be something, wouldn't it!

Will be interested to find out why Laurel let William think she was dead next week.

Maybe it didn't occur to her that he thought she was dead- she just wanted to leave?

I loved Shane flying in to the rescue but exactly how long has Megan been involved in espionage? It seemed that Cassie has been working with him for years. Has he been CIA that whole time?

I'm bummed Buckley/Felix survived. Dude took some blows from Miranda and Enrico, Cassie stabbed him, and he was shot two times. He's like the Terminator. It was creepy how he's been stalking Cassie this whole time, but he is good at blending in.

I'm thrilled Miranda survived and got the money. I hope she shows up again in season 2.

Max and Annie better not break up. I feel like they could open their own private investigation firm. He's the hacker and she's lawyer skirting the law. She even has FBI friends now!

I really enjoyed this show, even with its unevenness at times. I think the short season and frenetic pace really made it work.

And the "frenetic jazz!" per CC

Okay, I know that I can't let this go, but how does the daily stress of finding enough money to run the estate end up being less taxing than leaving when her visa expired and reapplying for another work visa?

And, Higgins taking the repo job because she needs the money?  What would Magnum get out of it or since he has a free room does she expect to keep all of the money they earn in their partnership?

And, I think that the two trees they hid behind this episode were the same ones they hid behind during the last episode.

Higgins sure has magical healing abilities.

The more you show your tummy the faster you heal!

Season 3 Episode 2 “Easy Money” – Higgins job to repo a plane goes south when she and Magnum discover that it was being used by a drug cartel who opens fire at the plane, forcing them to crash land in the jungle, where they find a stowaway on board with a target on his back. Also, Higgins has her first date with Dr. Ethan Shah.

    Airdate:   Friday, Dec. 11

I can't believe that Higgy sat there for an hour eating that tiny paper bowl of food. I am sure the restaurant owner wanted to kick them out since they didn't even buy drinks. I hope they left a large tip.

Planes don't have locks on the doors or the ignition switch?

Magnum destroys another expensive aircraft this week, do they have to reimburse the company for the damages?

I was a little disappointed that Higgy and Magnum leave a perfectly good radio and machine gun on the ground only to spend a great deal of time looking for a radio and machine gun.

You would think that the Cannabis growers might have created an elaborate escape route/tunnel in case the police ever surrounded the place.

      Reveal spoiler

How long will we have to wait to find out that Dr. Ethan is not as great a guy as he seems to be. I have watched way too much TV. It would be great if the one stalking Magnum was Katsumoto's baby-faced partner.

re your spoiler:  That's what I was thinking!

  7. We stumbled across Virgin River a few days ago and have been enjoying it!  We usually like British mysteries, and here's a village set right in our home state (even though the scenery's in British Columbia). Looks like small towns are the same all over.

ARRGHH: Hope.  Might as well be watching The Trouble With Maggie Cole.

    Still, I'm sure we'll watch Season 2 😀

I have a child who asks to be identified as "they".  I am considered an out-and-out bleeding heart liberal by many of my friends, and have no problem with their (my child's) sexual identity, but as an editor it's like nails on a chalkboard.

LOL, As a FORMER writer/editor, same here! But I know it won't take long to get used to it.

I see they hired a new actor to play Dom since Dennehy died over the break. I wonder if they will hire someone else to play Glen since Middleton also died over the break. Although Middleton will be a tough act to follow because he was so physically distinctive.

Aw, I hadn't heard about Glen.  Found this:  "The Blacklist EPs Tease Season 8 Tribute to Clark Middleton: Glen Will Get 'Sweet, Affectionate' Sendoff"  https://tvline.com/2020/11/11/the-blacklist-clark-middleton-dies-glen-tribute-season-8/

Incidentally, California retains the apprenticeship route as an alternative to law school. That's how Kim Kardashian, who doesn't even have a bachelor's degree, apparently hopes to become eligible for the bar exam.

Kim Kardashian West said... she had successfully completed her first year of law studies while preparing to release a documentary about her advocacy work for criminal justice reform. West, 39, said she works daily on her law studies for a total of 20 hours per week and just completed her first year of a four-year apprenticeship program in California. She is aiming to take the bar exam in 2022.

    Just FYI, from Jan. 2020.

  11. I'm an L.A. girl and love L.A. noir, but I vote for the next series or movie to find a story that doesn't involve a Sister Religious Leader (City of Angels, Perry Mason), baby/kid with eyes sewn open (same), Angels Flight (Perry Mason, Bosch).  At least we didn't have to see the kid on City of Angels- that was creepy on PM.

Other than that, how gorgeous are City of Angels, Perry Mason and Bosh himself heh

About the accents: If I remember correctly from my ESOL classes, children from bilingual homes often adopt the accent of their peers for social acceptance. If Laurel raised her son in a country where Spanish or Portuguese was the primary language, it would not be uncommon for her child to have that accent.

But it also let the audience know immediately that it was not Wes, back from the dead.

For anyone's interest, here's Emily Blunt on her daughter's accent:

  13. If they somehow switch back, Danny will go back into his life-support body and be ok b/c now there'll be a "there" there?

I can't watch these too late at night or I just fall asleep, even though I like this series!

The Captain has been voted out of his marriage by 2 to 1.

Turns out I was wrong about how such a marriage works.  I thought he had married both of them; but, I didn’t realize that both of them had also married each other.

The Captain is being “trivorced”. Probably would make an interesting reality series.

There was the "thruple" on SWAT- a man and woman were going to get married, invited Chris to be a third in the relationship.  On HOUSE HUNTERS of all things, an actual thruple- since marriage is legal only between 2 people, a man and woman married, then they had a commitment ceremony with the 3rd person.

The Feds were on to 5-0's line which they thought was secret. When Danny called in they captured the burner number and then tracked his phone to  Kamekono's safehouse

The flowers delivery was the actual murderer from India who used the flowers to get the door open.

That's what I thought at first, but the flowers weren't yellow, and when she went back inside, her husband was already dead.  (thx for your help!)
