  1. So apparently Nathan and Nurie made the trip back to Ohio with a one year old and a newborn for Thanksgiving? And they were just there 3 weeks ago for the wedding? That is a lot of traveling for Nurie. She was very pregnant for the first trip and now so soon after delivery. I wouldn't have wanted to do that.

Edited to add: Or was this video of the hot sauce contest filmed when Nurthan was there for the wedding and Jill with her wonky timeline is just now posting it. I must confess that I didn't turn the sound on so I possibly misunderstood.

  2. That would be a  creepy picture under the best of circumstances ( a woman with her best friend, or family members ). Just staring---what do they think is about to happen? But 3 women staring like that at the pregnant belly of a woman that their husband impregnated is just bizarre to me. I know it is a publicity shot and I assume I missed this photo when it was first published years ago.  I wonder how Janelle and Christine felt having to participate in this farce. And it does indeed give the illusion of subjects paying homage to their future king. However,  unbeknownst to them, this royal child would not be the one to rule the roost. It would instead be the child to follow, Her Royal Highness,  Princess Ariella. Or what ever that child's name is.

A few weeks ago I did some investigating into what Paul said in his letters, particularly in Timothy, and came across some great stuff from a Franciscan, but I can't seem to find it now  To summarize it he said that Paul's letters weren't intended to be gospel,  In many cases they were letters dealing with individual congregational problems.  Also, much of what Paul said was revised, and that Timothy isn't considered to be from Paul as it was written 100 years later.  Initially people thought that Jesus would return any day, so the church was quite free with women in high positions, preaching, etc.  After 100 years they figured that they had to set up a structured church, the patriarchy came back in full force, and Paul's words were revised.  Of course fundies would say that's blasphemy.

Some of this is new and interesting information to me. However, I have heard on multiple occasions that indeed, each of Paul's epistles were letters to individual churches that he had a history with. And each of the letters was talking about specific situations in that specific church. For example the "the women should be silent" part was supposedly addressing an issue in that specific church where several woman were causing some problems.  So, as it was explained to me, Paul was only talking about those specific women, not all women. Of course I belong to a denomination that allows women to be pastors, elders, teach in their seminaries and be the moderator for the entire denomination.  So Johnny Mac and Jeremy and Jim Bob would all proclaim us as heretics needing to be burned at the stake.

  4. Also, she just told Meri in Sunday night's episode, " Truth be told, Meri, she was thinking about leaving him before Flagstaff. " So that would be in Las Vegas.  And Meri commented something about that Christine had been struggling (maybe not the exact wording) for a long time. I don't know why Christine sits there and let's her talk to her like that ( well I do, it's for the cameras) but I would tell her to get off my porch and off my property. And take Ramen Head with her!

  5. I have an idea for how TLC can keep this show going. Kody can marry Jill Rodrigues as his 4th wife. (For those of you who are not familiar with her, check out the Sweet Fellowship thread in the Counting On forum). I know she would have to divorce the Hunk, but she gets a TV show and a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. She would make a great addition to the family. She and Janelle can sell Plexus together and she can show Janelle all the RV parks she's been thrown out of. She and Meri can go to Disney World and she can decorate the B&B with additional dust catchers. Jill and Robyn can share eyebrow styling tips with each other. And best of all, Robyn can divorce Kody so that he can legally adopt the younger Rodrigues kids. Jill might even find the same artist to do a portrait of Kody with her kids. Kody and Jill can see who can be the most vile narcissist! It would be like one of those disasters you just can't look away from!

I hope Kody ran around to every male within 1000 feet of Christine for the duration of the wedding and reception, making each one sign a form stating that they would not marry Christine and steal Kody's tens of dollars, while Robyn followed him around tugging at his sleeve saying, "Kodeeeeee!  I wanna dannnce!!!"

For Christine's sake, I hope not! How humiliating! However, if he sat with Robyn, and ruined her evening by growling, " What about that guy? Do you think he's the one she's with? Oh, maybe it's that one. He's the one after MY money.  No, I think it's that tall guy, I saw him looking her over. Damn it, Robyn it could be any of these guys. Look at her laughing and smiling at them all." Now that would suit me just fine.

  7. My guess is that she was invited because I just don’t see Logan deliberately snubbing her like that. He appears to be a good guy. I am not sure though why on earth she wouldn't go. Maybe she did and Phoenix was one of the stops on her trip.

I think all the kids irritate Kody I mean even Sweetie “has the logic of an idiot” according to him.  Honestly, it will be interesting to see how Kody is when Sol and Aerosol are teenagers.  I wonder if Sol will get shoved aside because he ages out and reminds Kody he’s not 20 or God forbid Solomon hits 6 feet tall. I know Robyn wouldn’t have it and Kody loves Robyn more than the other wives, but I don’t know that Kody loves Robyn more than Kody loves Kody’s ego.

The way they describe Aerosol it seems like she has the bossiness of Robyn and the frantic energy of Kody, but I’m actually most interested to see how Robyn would be if somehow all her children manage to escape the House of Curlers and Tchotchkes.  I think Robyn uses the kids as a buffer when Kody is droning on and she hides in one of her Precious Moments rooms secretly telling each collectible it’s her favorite 😂

Who is Sweetie and did Kody actually say they have "the logic of an idiot?" Why?

I agree.  This entire storyline with the church is stupid.  I've said many times here that Pastor Jeff's divorce would be far more scandalous than a teenage boy knocking up his girlfriend.  Because this is a prequel, the writers are backed into a corner.  We all know what is supposed to happen, but they don't really want to do that yet so they came up with this nutty story to delay the inevitable.

As someone who grew up in a Baptist church in a small Southern town, Pastor Jeff would have been fired because of the divorce.  Even though it was not his fault. The Baptist church would have never have condoned divorce, especially at that time. I now am Presbyterian so I am not sure how much has changed,  but I don't think most Baptist churches would be sympathetic.

  10. Well Hurricane Ian is going to make Carly's complaints moot. The flooding will wash the remaining coffins out to sea and we can end this ridiculous story line.  Honestly bad flooding can destroy a cemetery and send the coffins floating. It happened south of me about 25 years ago. It was devastating for the families at the time, but I would love it if it happened to Carly.  No disrespect meant to Virginia,  just Carly.

Must be a regional thing.  Not one I have heard before.

It is used here in Georgia,  usually as "punkin". I frequently call my grandchildren " punkin-doodle" as a term of affection.  It does seem a little odd coming from Leon, though.

Does anyone find it odd that Nathan and Esther Bates chose Kenna for their daughter's name? I know he wanted to name the baby after him, (Of course!), but they could've used McKenna, and called her Kenna. It's just an unusual name.

I graduated with a Kenna over 50 years ago, but she is the only one I have ever known . I don't remember ever hearing why her parents named her Kenna.
