One of Sterling's Instagram posts mentioned that the "deathbed" scene takes place in the year 2045.  If that's true, that would make the Big 3 65 years old.  If that year is true, then Kevin and Madison's twins would be 24 or 25 years old.  I'm guessing Kevin eventually has more children in addition to the twins.

I don't see how that can be right.  Rebecca is supposed to be 68-70 now.  So if she lives another 25 years, that would make her 93-95.  Also, Nicky would be around the same age and he did not look that old.

I thought Kevin was aged way too much in the last scene (Rebecca's deathbed). Judging from the look of his twins, 10 years or less has elapsed, but Kevin looks 20+ years older.

I don't know why everybody things old Kevin looks so old.  If he's 40 now and 50 in the flash forward, I think he looks about right.  Of course, everybody ages differently, but he's got a few lines and freckles, like he's been the sun and is aging, and gray hair/beard [but still has a lot of hair]. That is pretty much every man my age that I know [I'm turning 50 this year]. Sure, there are some that look younger, but there are some that a grayer or balder.  So I think he looks age appropriate.  I didn't think old Randall looked old at all [and I think regular Randall/Sterling looks younger than he is].

Add me to the list of people who like Madison.  I thought she was the best option from this year for the baby momma.  I don't know if she is who he ends up married to, but I would like to see them build a real relationship. I'm a sucker for unlooked for love.  In either case, I don't want it to be Sophie.  There is WAAAAAY too much water under that bridge.

Yes to this! I would love for Madison and Kevin to slowly and unexpectedly fall in love. If not, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let his wife  be somebody new. I HATE Sophie and Cassidy.  And as someone else pointed out, they both had spouses [and Cassidy had a child] - just let them be.

I like Teddy and Koracic so I'm going to ignore the ridiculous writing for how they get there and just go with it.

I liked them together too, but the problem is the whiplash changes.  Teddy was, for ages, hung up on Owen.  And basically vice versa. Despite other romantic partners, they seemed to not be able to shake each other. So even though Tom was great to her and she felt so happy etc. during her pregnancy, she dumps him to be with her supposed True Love [I still maintain that was the character Scott Foley played], Owen.  None of the previous eps have shown her and Owen having problems; so it is just weird that her first reaction to the possible Owen baby-daddy situation is to sleep with Tom.  But if we can let the baby be Linc's so that he and Amelia can be happy, then I'm cool with Teddy/Tom and Owen can just fade away....pretty please?

I don't dislike new dr but I'm not really feeling him and Mer yet.  Heck, I thought she had more chemistry with Nathan.

I hate to say it, but yeah, I might rather Alex be dead that to have him abandon his wife and friends with no word.

I do not care about Vic, singular or with Jackson.  I will never care about her and I'm never watching Station 19.

I think it’s an UO, but I like Madison and have no problem with Madison being the one for Kevin.  I actually dislike the Hallmark movies that seem to feed the fiction that first loves are the soulmates you can’t live without.  I would like Kevin to come to some realization that Sophie is wonderful and their relationship brings back comforting memories of an easier, safer time, but they just aren’t good together.  They tried as kids and as adults, and he doesn’t do well when he is with her.

This!!! I'm over Kev and Sophie. They just don't work any more...and that's okay.  I am kinda liking Madison with him.

Southerner here.  The pronunciations here that predominate are "ant" and "ahnt" - doesn't exactly rhyme with flaunt.  Some small town folks will break out "aint" but not as common as the other two.

Why the purple Westin hotel wristbands???

Does the hotel need to make sure they are guests and not crashing along with a camera crew?

Don't forget, they are at The Westin.

Westin resorts usually give wristbands when you check in to identify you as a guest when using the pool - at some resorts people will come park and walk through to use the pool or come in from the beach, but aren't actually staying there. Though, I can't imagine being a big issue with people who have a camera crew following them around!

I didn't like Derek asking Katie's dad for "her hand" because it rang of a time where women were property, first belonging to the father, then the husband.  If a guy told me he asked for my father's hand, especially if I no longer lived with my parents, I'd think him an asshole.

I rolled my eyes in moderate disdain until he said something about it not being a real marriage unless the man got his bride's father's blessing.  Then I got offended.  I guess my marriage is invalid, because my husband didn't get my 25-years-in-the-grave father's blessing.  Damn, Derek, I want to like you, and then you get all assy and stuff!

eh, this didn't bother me that bad.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely would NOT want someone to ask my dad for my hand in marriage.  I'm a grown up, self-sufficient woman and don't need anyone's permission [also, I never liked the fact that someone else would know I was being proposed to before the actual proposal].  But here in the South, this is not uncommon - not sure where Derek and Katie are from, but maybe that is still common for them, esp since they are pretty young [I'm way older so it would even weirder to ask my dad].

I get that, but like, Malik's dad opening up to Randall about his OWN experience with therapy, and then Randall totally brushing it off like, a good run is enough for me.  I mean, how does that make Malik's dad feel?

Also, Randall, that is a TERRIBLE response for a politician.  I mean, I know Malik's dad is more than just a constituent, but Randall could've had at least said "Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll definitely consider seeing a therapist" or something to that effect.

  10. ugg, I really hope Kevin is not in bed with Sophie.  I am so over that.  Never that big of a fan to begin with and they have broken up and reconciled enough.  And I don't like Cassidy either, wanted her to reconcile with her hubby. I love Sophia Bush but I know there is speculation that she was only a one off.  I might could get behind Kevin and Madison though. She is a little high strung but she has a been a good friend to Kate.

guess I don't think anything is wrong with venting to someone else about what's going on.  Like I said it happens in 12 step groups all the time.  Sometimes you can't just tell someone what's happening, at least right away.  I'm not from the school of, your partner is your other half.  Like they say, it takes a village.

I agree.  And sometimes, you need a reality check -- so you talk to friends and get their responses.  If they are really friends, they won't just automatically side with you, they may tell you you're overreacting.  This can actually be beneficial vs. just lashing out at your spouse or holding a grudge.

And also, I really, really hope Kevin's fiancee is someone we haven't met yet.  I was never sold on him and Sophie, and think &they've dipped into that well enough already.  Zoey I liked, but I also kinda want her to stay with her conviction that she never wants to be a mom [I think it is a perfectly valid choice, yet most tv/movies always have the woman having a big change of heart]. And I thought he and Cassidy had zero chemistry and really want her to have healed her rift with her husband and son.  So, yeah, let it me somebody new and awesome.

I always find the Grey's Tries to Handle Legal Issues episodes especially cringe worthy.

YES! The Callie/Arizona custody battle was so wrong in so many ways. And this one was too.  As someone in legal profession [tho not in Seattle] this hearing was insane.  I don't know how they do it out there but in my state, there would not have been a judge present at all [tho he didn't seem to do anything here], just a panel of doctors [or lawyers for legal ethics cases].  Also, the issues & witnesses would have been narrowed pre-trial and all this stuff about how she got in to the program, adoption of her daughter etc. would've been excluded.  Also, all these people showing up doesn't matter because the supposed ethics violation is about Medicaid fraud, not her competency as a surgeon.  Oh, and the panel would have been provided certain things before the hearing - the initial complaint and response at least, and maybe pre-trial briefs, so I call total BS that the chairman did not recognize Meredith Gray's name and realize she was the spouse of Derek Sheppard.  As someone else noted, D was world-renowned and she has won the big Whatever Award - the chairman should have known and recused himself prior to the hearing.  There is more, but I'm getting annoyed all over again, so I'll just stop.

I really am in to Amelia and Link.  Maggie is on my last nerve.  I don't blame her for her sadness/guilt etc over the lost patient/cousin, and Jackson shouldn't have been all flirty but she just acts so childish about things.  And this is also why you should think hard before dating someone you work with [and whose mother is married to your bio-dad].

Glasses does seem like a moron, but he didn't rat out Mer; he asked a question because he was concerned there had a been a mistake and for all these interns to turn on him is stupid.

Meredith said that she sent a list of ideas of topics she could write about and she included headlines and descriptions, and what they printed was every idea she sent them without any context or explanation. Whoever published it took the list of possible articles she gave them, numbered them, and printed it. People who saw it kept referring it to as a list, as in, "I've seen the list." One person said that it ended with number 40, so they didn't even bother trying to fluff it up into an actual article. They just printed her list as is.

She didn't violate HIPAA because she didn't write about anyone or anything specific (and you can talk about specific cases without violating HIPAA so even if she had mentioned certain circumstances, that's not necessarily a HIPAA violation). The bullet points that people read from the list:

Aaah, clearly I wasn't paying close enough attention! I could've sworn that she gave some anecdote about a patient but I guess not. Also, I thought she had submitted a list of topics and that's why I was confused as to how that became an article...  I must've missed the references that others made to "the list" but that makes slightly more sense than how my brain interpreted it.

I'm curious about what happened with Miguel inasmuch as he seemed to be very comfortable with the family at the dinner, with Rebecca in the kitchen, etc.  He also seemed to have been somewhat involved in their move.

I think its been established that Miguel has been trying to help Rebecca since Jack's death in various ways.  I think there were something last season about him helping with the apt or something -can't recall- but on this ep, Kate snarked about Miguel and Rebecca pointed out several thing that M had helped with in the new house.  So, yes, I think he was involved in the move, and doing household things that Jack would have done if he were alive.

She didn't write a letter to the editor, like you sometimes see published in newspapers. She wrote them a pitch for a story that she wanted to write. It seems like bad form for them to publish the pitch, but probably not illegal. I think a bigger issue would be that she probably expected to be paid for the full article and they just took her pitch and profited off it without paying her? I know she doesn't need the money, but still.

But she supposedly had a whole list of pitches, presumably just a few sentences.  So how does that become an article? And Mer still has to observe HIPAA & it seems like some of the "article" contained protected material, which she shouldn't have disclosed in her pitch. Also, who did she submit this pitch to? I would assume it would be something like JAMA or the New England Journal of Medicine, but since it was this viral article that came out almost immediately, it's like she submitted it to BuzzFeed or something.  This whole storyline is stupid, starting with the fact that Mer could've admitted the kid as a charity patient instead of using her own kid's name.

  16.  I was both excited and wary about this show.  I loved all Nancy Drew books and have seen basically every screen incarnation.  I knew this would be modernized, but as a fan of Riverdale, I thought it could be good [I also LOVED Veronica Mars which was initially described as neo-noir Nancy Drew ].   But.... I think I hate it.  The female cop/gf of Carson barely looks older than Nancy. Carson doesn't look old enough to be Nancy's father [yes, I know he technically is, but it's jarring bc Scott Wolf looks much younger].   Nancy and "Nick" have ZERO chemistry.  And ghosts are real?? Nothing is really jelling together for me.

  17. Last year, I found this show to be a fun guilty pleasure. However, I liked Talia and her no-nonsense attitude.  I HATE the new training officer.   I don't believe in this "golden ticket" concept and don't see why they would assign someone who has not even been a patrol officer for years as a TO [related note: I assume to qualify as TO, you have some other qualification/training besides just being a cop].  As someone else noted, she is smug and arrogant; she is also directly contradicting her boss, Grey, by telling Nolan he doesn't need to issue citations; not to mention that she could've gotten him killed by telling him not to call for backup.  I don't believe they would let her continue as TO after all of that.  And I'm just not that invested in the other cops.  I think I might have to let this show go.

*sighs* This season is only being saved by Amelink for me. Otherwise, super annoyed by every other character.

This!!! Actually everything in Lady Calypso's post captures my feelings so I don't need to repeat. [And I can't believe I'm liking Amelia now when I previously hated her.  I think it's Owen -- I seem to hate anyone that is involved with him, he makes them awful].

The other annoying thing was the Korean/American "love story." Besides the plot holes others noted, I'm always a little annoyed at the "she/he was my first true love" when neither of the people speak a word of the other's language.  I'm sorry, that may be a strong attraction or some sort of connection that could lead to love- but not love yet.  The fact that Bertie bought vegetables from her every week but couldn't actually communicate with her [how did he ask her to meet him at the train station and go to America with him?] does not equal love.  In my opinion anyway, but maybe I'm just a big ole cynic. 😆

    - Jenny: Jenny was portrayed as a depressive rageoholic. All I know of her recently is that she and Peter Facinelli divorced some time ago after a long (for Hollywood) marriage. Is Jenny a known partier/fighter in real life? That characterization was new to me.

Not that I know of.  She was rarely in the tabloids partying back then.  Her biggest "scandal" is the marriages -She married/divorced while on the show, then married Facinelli, had 3 daughters, then divorced; apparently married again and almost divorced but reconciled.  I've read her memoir and she seemed pretty grounded.  She said nice things about Jason and he came to at least one of her weddings.  She also had a show on HGTV called "The Jennie Garth Project" in which she and her contractor renovated a house - it was pretty cool.  I think instead of being her actual "nice girl" self, she is playing herself as a little drunk/depressive/bitter.

  20. I was SO glad that Jo performed her work but was not magically cured, as others pointed out, by some patient revelation, and that she actually told Alex.  I don't know the criteria for inpatient care but if she has been so bad off that Alex didn't want her left alone, plus the fact she did sorta admit to Mer about suicidal ideation, maybe that's enough.

This fraud thing is stupid.  Hospitals have charitable care. DeLuca would not be in jail in a red jumpsuit for this.  I don't even know how the insurance company would have picked up on one this one instance of fraud so fast unless someone turned her in.

Barf Teddy and Alex.  Can you please move away now? Teddy went to tell Amelia she was in love with Owen, but she didn't bother to tell Tom first? Was Teddy planning to go back to him if Amelia had professed her own love for Owen and asked Teddy to back off? Grr.  I know some folks don't like Tom, but this is a man who has been nothing but good to Teddy.

Re Mer/DeLuca - thought they had some zingy chemistry in a few scenes early on, but it has fizzled for me.  Didn't buy her proclamation of love.

Finally, Maggie/Jackson.  Yes, she went camping, but she didn't seem to even give it a chance. Wanted to stay in the tent and read [also, in her early eps, Maggie was shown to be a runner; now it's like she hates any physical activity].  It was like she was determined to not like it.  I get that she was super grumpy after the hike/ankle/bug bite and never wanted to go again, but also, blaming J for her not being at hospital was kinda crap. What if they'd been away but in a luxury hotel? It was her decision to take time off when there is sick kid and the other cardio dr. is about to go into labor [don't get me started on why there are apparently only 2 cardio docs in all of Seattle].

Jackson - if she doesn't like camping, she doesn't like it.  Though I didn't think he was being intentionally condescending by his speech, he just meant that Maggie was claiming not to like something that she had never tried, and that you should at least give it a shot.  And Maggie's comments back about his money seemed a little out of proportion - she may not have grown up super wealthy, but don't recall any discussion of her family struggling.  And if she was such a brain that she was graduating high school at 12 or whatever, I'm sure scholarships and job opportunities were not a problem like they are for most "normal" college students.

Yes, I'm not impressed with the casting of Ann.  Her voice is slightly raspy but that's about all they have in common.  Maybe it wouldn't bother me but the rest of the casting/acting - Bob, Gwen, Neil, Paddy is so good, that stands out... and not in a good way.

Oh and of course Olivia speaks Italian. I give her a pass on Spanish because she’s a NYC cop and it certainly comes in handy. But where and when did she become fluent in Italian?

Actually, I remember Olivia speaking Italian a few times before this.  Back right before or right after Elliott left, they had the Italian diplomat case [he assaulted a hotel maid, I think?] and I'm pretty sure she spoke Italian in that one. There's another one, but I can't quite remember it now, even though I just saw it in reruns in the past couple weeks.  I don't mind the languages, but the whispering irritates!  And I think Carisi should be in every episode, as many scenes as possible, love him.

Of course Owen now has a moment of clarity regarding who he wants now that he knows Amelia has moved on and he wasn't able to break up Teddy and Tom.

Also, his therapy isn't as effective as he thought it he is still so self centred that he thinks that it's all about who he wants.  Neither woman has been sitting around waiting for him to figure things out.

Of course, maybe his true love is Christina and he jets off to Switzerland, never to be seen on Greys again?

Ugg, this!!  So you've supposedly dealt w/your issues, Owen - great.  Now you'll be ready for the next woman you meet. But for you go announce your supposedly love for Amelia or Teddy when they have moved on and are happy is just selfish as shit.  Any while sending O off to Cristina would solve the problem, I hate to even think about her with him even offscreen, LOL. Have we ever seen either of these sisters before? It seems strange that we'd just now be meeting two of Derek's sisters 15 seasons in.

I also thought it was strange that Linc didn't seem to know who Derek Shepard was (or, that he was Amelia's brother, or that he died). Wasn't Derek supposed to be one of the most famous neurosurgeons in the country? Seems like everyone at that hospital knows everyone else's business.

Think someone answered but yes, we've met Nancy before, back in the days when Mark and Addison were around.  She tried to defend A's sleeping with Mark, something to the effect of "so she slept with Mark, everyone sleeps with Mark."  Kathleen we had not met.  Lizzie (Nev Campbell) appeared sometime after the plane crash when she donated a nerve or something to repair Derek's hand [I think that's right]. Lizzie seemed pretty nice and indicated that she wanted to get to know Mer/Der's children and have them know her kids.  Aaaand then we never saw her again.

And yes, SUPER weird that Linc would not know who Derek is since he's flirted with Meredith/been subject to Jo matching making him with Meredith.  And you know that hospital is full of gossip, Jo would've given him the lowdown on who's who etc.

Also, I still call BS on NO ONE in Amelia's family not even knowing what Owen looked like.  They would have at least googled him and seen pictures on the Grey Sloan website.  Then again, these are people that did not visit when Mer/Der were in a plane crash [at least that I recall].
