Interesting, I’ve heard the exact opposite regarding social distancing and mask wearing. They aren’t hooking up to do kicks or jump splits. And they did show group auditions on the hotel property.

My opinion of Jalyn doesn't (and wasn't) coinciding with any opinions of Victoria. Not sure why you mentioned her. I don’t have an opinion on Victoria really either way, but giving a “negative” personal opinion on Jalyn, isn’t mutually exclusive to comparing her to Victoria. I promise my opinions don’t revolve around comparing everyone to Victoria.

I know some people didn’t love the way Jalyn was removed from SG (she wasn’t the first and won’t be the last), but to me, there’s nothing special about her dancing or her looks. I feel like there’s a soft spot for her due to last year, but if that had not have happened, I probably couldn’t pick Jalyn out of a line up.

Reading through all of the VK posts has reminded me that I prefer the days when DCC had older cheerleaders. And by older I mean like 25/26 and up. We have a good chunk of “older” DCC now, but I miss the maturity of the older in age DCC. There’s something so much more relatable about them, and just their refinement. I was rewatching some of the older season highlights on the FB page, and I miss the Jackie Bobs/Sunnis/Lonis of DCC.

I was surprised to see Amber flaunting (not sure if that’s the word I’m looking for, but oh well) her trip to Cancun. Seems tone deaf at minimum and selfish at worst, especially considering Texas is one of the hotspots. Traveling for family emergencies, work, essential travel is understandable. I side eye someone traveling strictly for vacation right now (just my personal opinion).

If only she looked like this in real life...

Any other year, I would say they would probably cut a vet, but I don’t see it happening this year. They don’t have the time. TC is where girls learn the actual DCC style vs just the choreo, and with an abbreviated timeline, the girls who usually grow during TC, won’t have that opportunity now. Which is unfortunate, because this class seems very talented. But I definitely don’t think they are cutting 3-5 vets.

Times are changing. I think teams around the league are going to have to figure out how to better balance and use the voices of the team while “managing” the brand. Whatever that means to them.

You know, throughout the past week, I have continued to be impressed with Maddie (and my general assumption of Maddie previously was not the greatest, but I give credit where credit is due), Briana, Miranda, Taylor J, and Chandi. They have been consistent, respectful, and not tone deaf in their messages (looking at you, Alexis, who posted about brunch while protesters were literally 1 street over). I don’t know what the future holds for them, but as just people, DCC is lucky to have them (I know Miranda is retiring, so I wish her the best of luck). I don’t think anyone’s expectation is that the DCC are going to be the most outspoken change agents in the country. But I do expect that they have opinions about what’s going on in the world if Kelli wants us to look at them as anything other than “just cheerleaders”. And ESPECIALLY if Kelli’s calling card is how diverse the team is, and how many different states and schools they hail from. I watch as DCC promote everything from Dunkin’ Donuts to national sock day. If they can’t take 5 seconds to post anything about the country (and world) being on fire, then I never want to hear another word from Kelli or Judy about how smart, impactful, and insightful these women are. Hell, even Charlotte threw up a black box on her page. I don’t need DCC to solve the worlds problems, but I do need them to not be tone deaf & silent. And honestly, Kelli and Judy posting black boxes when they are the start and stop of why diversity is lacking on this team, is almost laughable. Quite frankly, the DCC & Cowboys (team page & some individuals) have been disappointing this past week, when they are supposed to set the “standard”. Be better.

I think this is wishful thinking (which will be confirmed by the number of WOC who make training camp).

I get the victoria hate, but let’s be real for a second. In no way, shape or form was madeline better than victoria or any other vet. I’ve see the girl dance in something longer than the 7 second CMT clip we get. She made it because she was a legacy.

I see what you mean. I don’t know how/what is different, but something is there. However, I don’t think it’s as obvious as some of the other girls on the team.
