I think they were surprised.  From the way the show's announcer had been describing him all week I was expecting someone who was going to be moderate but everything Cawthorne said sounded like it came from the Republican talking points. He even threw in the word socialism.

Hes the male version of MM.

I want to see her too.  Nothing against Sara but I think we've only seen Ana once on the show since the pandemic hit.  That's not nearly enough.  What gives?

Shes also a contributor on CNN right?  I wonder if shes been on there.  I havent seen her.  Is she active on twitter?  Im just wondering if maybe shes been sick, or getting blacklisted for some reason?  Whatever it is, i hope shes well and comes back soon.

I loved today's show. The opening song had me tearing up, it is so apropos with what Black people have been feeling for centuries in this country.. I could listen to Nikole Hannah Jones all day long without ever getting bored. Her knowledge of Black history is inspiring.. I was waiting for Megan to attack her with a talking point from the right but she was actually very nice. Nikole got alot of hate from Megan's people because of the 1619 project and she took it all with aplomb..

It was very powerful wasnt it. And they made it 3 yrs ago!  And just added some current parts.  The whole thing could have been done yesterday and it would still be timely.  Just breaks your heart.

Agree about Blair, she was one of my favorites tonight. Now if she lays off the Botox trout pout look in her confessionals she will continue to blossom.

Also agree about Juju, that was a lazy lipsync. I’m convinced she was asked to “throw it”. Monet is not a lipsync assassin per se, but always brings the laughs while doing one, which is why I think they asked her back.

I’m pissed about Mariah’s exit, she’s a far more entertaining queen and performer, and of course has that Mug 4 Dayz. But I’m sure she’ll be back, much like the other eliminated queens. Was not expecting, but loved seeing Bianca Del Rio sending her love and respect to her good friend in Untucked.

Alexis’s goal was to gaslight Cracker and it worked. She slipped up a little during the Golden Gals.

Yea agreed w. You and Peach.  I do have to say i love JuJube this season. Not only is she stunning, but fuckn funny as well.  Never fails to crack me up.  The one that did me in this week was 'DaOtterOne' hah!  Nice moment w. Michelle at the end.  I was totally blindsided by Mariah 😐  thought for sure was Shea.  Didnt agree  with Shea's critique either.  That looked like major work mechanically alone!  Loved the colors too.  Was hoping for an India exit of the three.

  10. It truly is how you look at things. I can slip pretty easily into debbie downer, and its a constant battle to keep hope for better.  Anyway i saw this viral video a while back and it was just so sweet.  This guy and his family.  They wanted to celebrate him before he began his lifes journey, but the couldnt because of virus. So they surprised him by creating a backyard of all different places around the world.  Lights, drinks, music.  It was just really sweet imho.  Thats an example of optimism folks hehe.  I'LL share my other most fav viral video some other time.  Makes me weep everytime.

This.  100%.  If spirits have been around a long time, they likely lived in an era where cussing wasn't so widespread.  The cussing on all these ghost shows drives me mad, because I think it might offend a lot of spirits.  Plus, if you're a spirit trying to communicate, and you finally summon enough energy to do so somehow, who would want to me met with &*^$%! as a greeting?

I did have a chuckle when Billy had a freakout.  I forget which ep, recent though.  Billy was in an old mining town haunted house all alone, asked for a sign and then got one heheheh.  It was like a knock, or something was thrown at him.  He hauled ass out of there screaming hahaha.  Im sorry for laughing Billy, but you were so funny.  I wouldnt have been any better thats for sure.

Not gonna lie, I forgot Expedition X existed.

Destination Truth was almost all paranormal subject matter, so if you're more into historical things, I'm not sure I could recommend it.  I used to watch it, partly because Josh is such an entertaining host.  But Expedition Unknown is waaay better IMO.

EU is def better.  Bigger budget hehe.  But DT is the parent to EU.  DT begat EU.  Hah.  Aaaaaanyway...DT was a lot of crypto stuff too.  Excursions up Everest etc, yetis, the asian versions of yetis, all kinds of monster things.  Lots of EVP stuff.

    Regarding today's show -

Boy,  Mm seemed even more angry than usual!  She constantly tells "us" that something should not be partisan and then almost immediately makes it partisan.  She seems to do this a lot.

I found the mayor articulate, concise and pretty likeable.

Congratulations to all the new babies out there!

Whoopi ALWAYS seems to give the benefit of the doubt to the accused in these situations. She's said similar things on the show concerning men accused of sexual assault. I think the most recent example was her siding with Matt Lauer's criticism of Ronan Farrow's reporting. Lauer made a few dubious claims and Whoopi was ready to throw the baby out with the bath water like none of the sexual assault allegations were true.

I like Whoopi, but some of these opinions really disgust me. Maybe she's not articulating things properly, but it really comes off like she sides with the accused because she knows them personally or is skeptical about the accusations in general.

I'm beyond ready for Whoopi to be off the show.  She's not a good moderator and her opinions are sketchy and poorly stated.

Edit: Ugh, reading more about Fedida and it's really really bad and makes Whoopi's comments that much more terrible. Does she dislike Sunny that much that she's willing to give the benefit of the doubt here despite Fedida's pervasive well-documented history of racism and other problematic behavior? The network paid out millions in settlements due to her conduct. There really isn't an other side argument to make here.

Details about the settlements, well-documented complaints like calling women in the workplace "c**ts" and actively working against diversity and inclusion initiatives are here: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/abc-news-toxicity-thrives_n_5ee3db80c5b684a0c4f2e297?wfx

I don't understand why these companies would choose to pay millions in settlements as opposed to getting rid of the racist/problem employee? It makes no sense. No one is that good at their job to justify this.

And what about the list of names Sunny ran down.  All women who have basically 'disappeared' from the network.  Sounds like she got off on being the HBIC, i hope they get some sort of class action against her.

Maybe she meant that she missed being exorcised? I am not sure exorcism was considered an essential service during lockdown. The only exercise I remember her mentioning was slugging whiskey and shootin up them squirrels with her automatic weapons. Also dancing sweatingly in clubs with her friends. Forgot that one.

Hah!   ...exorcised..snarf... 🧟‍♀️👹..that was a funny one!  Tequila talking...i start typing in dot dot dot!  And many exclamation points.  Seems to be my whatchamacallit of choice...such a happy drunk lol. P.s. i thought tomorrow was Fathers Day.  Oops.

Thanks...my interests are the historical ones,  Biblical ones, or historical stories that morphed into legends, like Robin Hood and King Arthur. I found those two to be disappointing, though. The characters who are obsessed with those figures are interesting, and certainly I loved seeing the rural parts of England. However, the euphoria when using sonar equipment, wriggling through caves and so on kept ending up in nothing. The Dead Sea Scrolls episode was fun and also had actual artifacts found.

I see from this forum that Josh had a show on The Travel Channel, which I've never watched. The reruns I'm seeing now are on Discovery, and while I have no interest in whatever ghost things he did, I'm sure I'll find other episodes that fascinate me.

Josh is a very gregarious and quick-witted host, so that makes it enjoyable.

Oh he loves it when you can keep up with him haha. Ok well i could tell you or ---.  ok twist my arm. 😁He started with Destination Truth.  That ran for several good seasons.  Then was gone for a bit and returned for a few seasons as EU on travel channel.  Gone, back now on Discovery and hes found his niche i think.  Its like hes found it.  Several great seasons.  Has some side jobs, sometimes with other paranormal groups.  I think getting married and having a couple kids have slowed him down just a bit! Not much! Hes just a little less reckless? If thats the right word.  Bravado. Yada yada.

I like the historical eps as well. The Viking one was good, i did like KA, there was one about Excalibur i think last season.  Oh oh the Secret! That one was really enjoyable if you like puzzles.  Its the mega of all puzzles.

And did you see in fhe news Finn's gold was just found last week?!  Its been verified as true by Finn himself.  He seemed kind of sad that it was over.  But no one else died thankfully. The finder hasnt come forward and hasnt said yet how they did it.

Ok now..see what you started hahahah.  Oh yea has another side hustle currently airing repeats called Legendary Locations. On Travel ch.

As someone who was forced to search for unfamiliar TV fare, due to the pandemic shutting down new production of the shows I typically watch, I had come across this show. They're all reruns, but new to me. I was having trouble getting into it because the few shows I've seen have been very underwhelming. For example, searching for King Alaric's treasure and the ecstatic reaction to finding, instead, just a pin-sized piece of metal.

Today, though, I watched part one of the Dead Sea Scrolls. That was fascinating. I haven't yet seen part two, and I doubt it will end with a discovery of new Dead Sea Scrolls (it would have been all over the media), but what they found so far has been amazing. Just seeing the labyrinthine caves beneath the ancient Israeli town of Beit Lehi, wow. All that hand carving from 2000 years ago, the Menorah and the dovecotes, that was so interesting. Then Josh and the Israeli archaeologist finding actual pottery that had been undiscovered until now felt like something that was genuinely an exciting discovery.

Ditto!  Loved the Scrolls eps.  I usually dont care for the nazi eps but do have so many favs i could recommend... love the space eps, yeti eps, historical biblical eps, the afterlife, hes been everywhere i think.  I also like Expedition X

What's she going to preface her comments with after she has the baby?  "I'm a mother"?  If she says that, I hope the other three hosts chime that they are, too, just to highlight that she's not so unique or special.

Hahah and you know it will happen.  I can already see it.  If not the first time she says it, theyll let her go a couple more times, see if she corrects herself, but rhe very next time. BAM the whole table hits her with it, a cacophony!  Hell if they have a studio audience by then, even half a one, even if only filled with employees, they can also yell it out loud So Are We!!!!!  From all directions.  Ths is starting to sound like a Hitchcockian scene.  I can dig it.

Late here, but I got where Joy was coming from.

There have been countless murders of black men by police in the last few years.  There was outrage, there were protests, but nothing like what happened with George Floyd's murder.  Because people went back to their lives, work/school/friends/movies etc.

I believe this is different, because of the pandemic.  People have been shut in for months, people are out of work.  All of our distractions are temporarily gone, our lives have been reduced.  When this murder happened everybody was laser focused.  Everybody was watching.  People got angry.  They weren't protesting the quarantine, but the quarantine had a lot to do with the focus of this particular murder.

Ive been feeling weird lately but it just seems like it goes on and on and on.  Like whats next.  Ive been trying to find a movie that would fit...i dont know, depression? Despondency?  The Rapture?  Day after tomorrow? I just have a foreboding feeling.  Wheres that bunker located?  Hah.  Bastille day, thinking about that too.  Is this the American Revolution version.  Chateau  Day is the translation.
