Well, by that theory "The Book of Henry" would also have a higher IMDb rating, which I don't see. I've watched "Ballerina" when it was released here some time ago, and it's a nice sweet little movie.

On IMDb "Leap!" has a score of 6.8. So really not that bad. Btw it's a French-Canadian co-production and not from the US.
