I recently powered through Farscape for the first time and oh how I love Ben Browder. He is so not my type usually but he is so good as John Crichton that I fell in love.

    Oooh, yes.

Browder is one of my few American "TV boyfriends." I seem to have more of a thing for Canadians and Brits--  David Walmsley (In the Flesh and The Smoke), John Simm (Life on Mars), Lucas Bryant (Haven), Sergio DiZio (Flashpoint), Jamie Bamber (Law and Order: UK, The Smoke, Battlestar Galactica), Damien Malony (Being Human UK), and most recently Ryan Robbins (I've been making my way through Sanctuary, loving Continuum, and dug out my DVDs of Dead Like Me, BSG, and Supernatural to watch his guest appearances... he's amazingly versatile!).

  2. I came into this for Lee Pace, and I loved the pilot, and then I hated almost everything after that, especially Joe. I don't think that was LP's fault, I think Joe is just a poorly conceived and written character. The finale was just so weird in all of its pointless violence. I could live with the Donna and Cameron show next year, with occasional appearances by Gordon, but since I don't think that's happening, I'm hoping for cancellation so LP can go get a part on Hannibal and everyone else can similarly find shows more worthy of their considerable talents.

  3. I love this series, but the finale felt kind of like a retread of the series 1 finale... A PDS sufferer close to Kieran is horribly/ unjustly murdered, and Kieran himself is in danger, but his family rallies around him. The variations were different, but the basic story was the same.

Incompetent wet nurses? Perverted maesters? Mentally ill children left to their own devices for hours at a time? (And we haven't even got to the fortune teller who terrorizes children.) Growing up there must have felt like such a dog eat dog environment.

Jaime telling Tyrion that some Maester who was employed by their family tried to touch him once made me lol for its black humor because of course the Lannister siblings would have predatory perverts to add to the pile of fucked up, disturbing incidents from their childhood. Honestly though what must that Maester have been on to have the nerve to attempt to pull some shit like that with Tywin Lannister's golden boy?

That scene was my favorite part of the episode. It made both of the Lannister boys feel very real.

Btw, what did Jaime say when he was rushing out of Tyrion's cell?

Hermann: Guy has a wife and a family. That's always a bad sign in an action-drama.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Hermann was there. Boden asked him to take the day off for the wedding, and he did (hence he was in a suit while all the other guys were on duty). We see Boden ask permission to tag along on the call at the end, but if Hermann had done the same, he would have been outside with Boden in his suit. No way he could have changed into gear so quickly.
