In the end Amber is going to be the one with far more to be disappointed about than Matt. If a guy is a jerk towards you this early on, it is never going to improve.
-
LOL, no I did not stalk anyone. The stalker is now rather old and last I heard she is disabled. I was a teen at the time (I'm now in my thirties) and for some reason a middle-aged woman in the neighborhood became obsessed with me. It was creepy, she would follow me, send me things, and had the nerve to cry to people about how I didn't like her. I have no idea why she became so obsessed with a teenage girl or what her deal was. The police were not particularly helpful and did not take it very seriously. Her attempts to get near me or contact me tapered off after I went away to college. I'm glad social media was not around back then or it probably would have been worse. I feel like Amber is lost at how to deal with Matt because he is sending her mixed signals when he needs to just spit it out. I'm hoping she is less naive that she is currently coming across. A teacher should be more savvy.

While I think Amber is easily manipulated with money, Matt put her in a crappy position. He is giving her mixed signals. He signed up for this telling the show and then after the wedding telling her that he was ready to settle down in one place. Now he is telling her the opposite by saying he might sign on to a new basketball contract, which would make building his business nearly impossible.
-
While I think it is not a great idea to just offer up money, there isn't anything wrong with a woman being the breadwinner and she wasn't in the wrong here. She made it clear she was willing to be the support while his business got off the ground. I feel she was put in a lose-lose situation. If she hadn't offered to be supportive of his business plans, she would have been criticized. But when she offers to be supportive, she gets criticized too. Matt's ego and whatever else couldn't handle it. The ring thing with Iris and Keith seemed fake.

He doesn't care if he hurts her feelings, which is why he tore her down off camera. I'm so tired of this excuse, especially on the heels of last season. These men are not having sex with Amber, Kate, or any other woman to avoid hurt feelings. That is not a thing that is happening.
-
No one forced him to lead her on by having sex with her. And if he wants out then he should grow up and say so. Instead he decided to cruelly put her down enough off camera that the spark completely left her eyes. Then he wanted to pretend that he had no idea why she was upset.
-
He isn't giving her anything to work with. Also as someone who has been stalked, that is not how stalkers act.
-
That is something he should have thought about before getting married to anyone let alone a stranger, especially when he has already acknowledged that his career has made relationships difficult.
-
Pretty much. People have put Deonna in a box and refuse to see her any other way. The same thing happened last season to Jasmine and at some point fiction took over what actually happened with people repeating half-truths or lies about her even when what actually happened on screen didn't fit that narrative.
-
A lot of teachers work summer or second jobs to supplement their income. It would not surprise me if Amber also coached a non-school sports team.
-
I feel like people are acting like Deonna made a big deal about his previous engagement when she didn't. He clumsily brought it up so she asked about it. She didn't condemn him for it and even tried to make him feel better about it by saying the old engagement wasn't meant to be.

I think Amber likes the idea of Matt more than Matt himself, she likes that she was matched with someone sporty. But the bloom seems to be coming off already because she was obviously unhappy about how he treated her off camera. They won't last and Matt seems like a thoughtless person when it comes to how he interacts with people.
-
Except she had no problem with beach activities, so getting wet wasn't the issue.
-
She said the past is the past. That was completely reasonable.

It seems like Matt acted like a jerk towards Amber off camera over the money thing. He needs to grow up and get a real job. From what I read he last played basketball in Mexico, where the players make don't make much money.
