  1. There's something about a few of the men in the democratic race. He interviewed O'Rourke last night, and when Chris asked him why he should be the president, he responded basically, "because I can beat Trump." It's like there's an unsaid, "Duh, of course someone like me should be president," or "Duh, of course I should be president," that he didn't even hear the 'why'....He only heard "how."
  2. Does anyone know the name of the congressman he interviewed? I was listening to it in my car on my morning drive, and I missed who it was.
  3. Not to mention, it plays on the public being naive. He's an actor. He's always been an actor. He went to school for a degree in English, not engineering. It was bad enough that Verizon did it, but Sprint takes it to the next level. They've had dishonest commercials from the get-go, including when I used to sell for them at an independent retailer. I hate Sprint.
  4. Tuition reimbursement programs don't usually have an application/acceptance process, at least for bigger companies. There's a certain amount you can get. It requires registering at an approved college (usually just an accredited one), getting the appropriate grades, and submitting the paperwork. It's something that any employee can do. That's why I took this as college acceptance. Also, that language, "after careful consideration" and all, is pretty typical college acceptance wording. And even if he knew what it said, the manager didn't. Maybe he was hoping to have a private conversation about how he didn't get into college, so he wanted to see about getting on the management track or something. I know I'm overthinking, but it just bothers me that they show some manager so happy to override what the unassuming teenager wanted. Also, put me on the list of people that hate the self-appendectomy commercial. Anything that gross, and I'm going to self-boycott out of spite, even if I know it won't make any difference. They took it too far.
  5. The one that bothers me is the McDonald's commercial about the kid getting into college. All the commentary about McDonald's not just being a first job, but a job for people less fortunate than ad execs, and the consequences for how the country thinks about minimum wage, I just keep thinking "What if he didn't get in?" You can't just snatch it out of his hand that way... Sorry if this was mentioned. I just found this thread.
  6. I might be in the minority, but I find All In passable. Rachel Maddow has the most 'must watch' of the nightly shows, but as a news junkie, most days I listen to all four on my phone the next morning at work. I've heard him in multiple places on other shows, podcasts, etc...and it always reminds me of why I miss him hosting UP so much. The REALLY in-depth discussions let him be more involved in the actual conversation than just directing traffic.
  7. I just read about this in some other article, so i did some reading, and now I just registered because I wanted a place to talk about it, lol. There are a lot of misconceptions about shippers in general in some of the writeups. It seems like the cast was treating it like general shipping. The people angry were treating it like an LGBTQ issue. Some of the worst comments seem to be made by people who wanted to treat it like both. As a giant smallville fan, the way I see it is that the cast was responding to a Chloe + Clark shipper situation, and the crowd responded like it was a Clark + Lex situation. I can tell you, as someone who was around at the time, on tv and online communities, TPTB over Smallville ridiculed Chlarkers just as badly as anything I've seen here. If his first apology had seemed as well thought out and sincere as his second, I'd bet most sincere people would have acknowledged it and moved on. As for the second one, I've also seen people say that he was basically saying "I'm sorry you were hurt." I disagree. "I'm sorry you were hurt" and "I'm sorry I hurt you" are two TOTALLY different things.
