  1. Who was claiming Bo Derek as the originator of cornrows? Must have missed that dialogue.
  2. LCK was just jumping on the reality show trend of giving people another chance. Bringing vets back again and again, Redemption Island, the public voting back HGs on Big Brother, etc. Reality show producers love the practice and I don't think it's going anywhere.
  3. And not just Brooke. In that interview someone linked, Shirley talked about how she got promoted much faster because she was better than all the male line cooks. Anyone at their level is very confident in the abilities. I'm sure the editors could find plenty of quotes from all the chefs talking about how good they are.
  4. Yes, the "much better chef" won 3 comps to the inferior Brooke, who won 9. Best part of that article is when Brooke says Richard's wife texted her "what the hell was his problem" and told her she was glad she pushed back at him.
  5. I think you nailed it. It was a pretty big hunk of pork belly, so it was probably meant to be halved. Best explanation I've seen.
  6. That was Wolfgang Puck, and yes I was livid about that. Puck was firmly for Antonia, but after the break he fell in line for Mike.
  7. Yeah, I thought about that, and I think what probably happened was when it wasn't there, she figured she forgot to put it down, but then later on found out it was listed but not delivered. Doubt she would risk being called out on that when Padma, Tom and Shirley were there when she said it.
  8. Newsflash, that's what sous chefs do. Executive chefs compose the dish and supervise their sous chefs.
  9. Cooksdelight, Brooke did give Sam credit for the garlic chips, and they only show a fraction of what is said at Judges Table, so we have no idea if Brooke acknowledged Shirley for giving her the pork belly. I'm amazed that people still don't seem to understand that the editors are telling a story and they pick and choose what to show to fit that story. They can make jerks look kind and vice versa by what they show, when, the music behind it, juxtaposition, etc.
  10. Well, Padma and Tom were right in front of her, so they could have and probably would have chimed in had Brooke been lying about ordering the pork belly. I've yet to hear one example of Brooke feeling entitled to Shirley's protein. She asked, and anyone would have given it to the other chef in that situation. Nobody wants to win that way. Maybe it's because I would have been annoyed at Shirley's non-stop loud talking too, but I agreed with her about that. Still like Shirley, but that can get on one's nerves and Brooke doesn't control what gets aired. Somebody also made a comment that she should have thanked Shirley in front of the judges. We don't know that she didn't. Probably a tenth of what is said at Judges Table actually gets shown.
  11. What did she say that came across as entitled?
  12. I do think Brooke's choice of flan was a mistake. Very basic, and didn't have the flavor to carry it through even if it had been creamier. Shirley's desert looked delicious.
  13. I'm with you on the outcome Ric. I've been a big Brooke fan since her first season. I really liked Sheldon and Shirley too though. I don't know why people are bashing Brooke so much. Trying to make her into a villain is just odd. There's been plenty of villains on TC, but picking every nit and blowing up non-issues in order to build up Shirley doesn't have much validity.
  14. Ok, so everybody will stop bashing her for it, Brooke said on WWHL, that she did put pork belly on the list, but it wasn't delivered.
