Since Guillermo is clearly disgruntled and has a talent for killing, I predict he will eventually become a vampire slayer.

    Score one for Portia!

It is, at least as importantly, the actors' commitment to consistently spectacular delivery of funny fucking vampire/goth goofiness.

Matt Berry could read the instructions on how to assemble a television stand and I would pee my pants laughing.

For example, Get in your car and take those back to the Amazon!

Also, IT Crowd call back "Apriiiiil"

Also also, I thought you said you were from Iran

  2. I actually laughed out loud a few times in the second half of season 5.  I love Argyle Austero.  Great sign work when GOB gets there to meet them too.  When he's on the work site his head is cleverly blocking part of the sign so it says "CEMEN[T] hard and fast".

And the Mitch Hurwitz Golden Girls connection made me plotz.

All in all I think Season 5.2 was better than 4 or 5.1.  Nothing will be the original series and we can thank FOX for destroying it (along with Firefly, still bitter), but I liked 5.2.  I think that the dynamics changing as people got older just weren't as funny, or funny in the same ways (obviously) as the original run.

  3. I loved the song. The two of them are so fantastic together. And she must really love him to be in MacGruber (Boom!).

I am worried about Glen.  When they revealed he'd been there longer than the virus I figured we had another Mike on our hands.  Of course if Erica falls in love with him he's absolutely doomed.

Apparently, Bobrow has left LMOE for B99 this season. :\

Booo!  I love Andy Bobrow.  He stuck by Community.  Now Megan Ganz is here to break all our hearts like she did with season 4 of Community and then left to go to Modern Family. I mean, she's a great writer but I guess I'm still holding a grudge.

As if the inventor of the machine was able to find enough pieces to put together another to send Nora back.

Why not? Nora made it a point to say that everything was still there.  The clothes were in the stores. There were planes but no pilots. I would think anything he needed would be easily accessible.  Maybe even more than on this side since only 2% is on the other side.

I refuse to believe that that physicist wouldn't have built a "return home" machine before Nora came knocking on his door. In a world of orphans, what kind of monster just sits on the knowledge and technology to restore families and provide answers to two worlds?

This is sort of the reason I think Nora's story was a lie. I think she was so disappointed that it didn't work, and her last interaction with Kevin in the hotel, she just went into a years long funk and hid away.  Any scientist that actually could make a machine to travel between the worlds would be shouting it from anywhere he could.

  7. I really hope the boat named The SeaWard was an Arrested Development reference. I'm not sure if Lord & Miller are connected to him (Mitch Hurwitz) but Mel Rodriguez was in a show he did and Wiigy was in season 4.

I liked the finale.  The nuclear plants melting down was a nice touch of reality and it was great to get Pamela in. I hope we get a 4th season to wrap some things up.

And i have to agree a little bit with the angry post above. Stfu Tandy. It got to be a little much. They should've dropped his early episode rant for the "I'm going to take five minutes and say something about each of you. Todd here's the timer, make sure I don't go under" speech.  Because by that hilarious joke I was angry at Tandy from before and I didn't enjoy how hilarious that bit was until after the episode was over.

unless you're telling me that he dreamed it all in the split-second before he crashed

    That's what I'm saying.  I didn't say I'd like, but that's what I'm saying.

I'd like the Jasper ending. Be a bit morbid but that would be in line with the show. And they could get Morgan Freeman to play old Jasper. The thought of him having storytime with the ball buddies makes me giddyish.

  9. Jasper alone as an old man was telling Tandy's story to the ball buddies. Making Jasper the actual Last Man on Earth the whole time.

Phil's truck hits the rock in the pilot episode and this was all in the mind.

  10. I know from the Andy Bobrow interview that they weren't considering this the end but that really had a finale vibe to it.  Of course in true Last Man fashion that wasnt the last episode of the season.

I have to give Forte credit, he really does not mind looking as ugly as possible for the sake of comedy.

Think of him walking around Los Angeles for months with half his body shaved.  And I read that he never breaks.  Not on SNL. Not even with Kristen Schaal farting on him during a sex scene.

    Guys a pro.

You gotta have a Kinks song

We are the village green preservation society.

With Phil and Mike running at each other in slow motion all emotionally.

Then Tandy nut punches him again.  Or Mike does.

    Whichevers funnier.

But I actually think Mike is dead.  So I vote NO.

As much as I'd like him back his ending had a lot of meaning. I wouldn't want to see any of that taken.

So IS Carol actually pregnant? It would be really, really awful if she wasn't, after all that.

I am worried about this.  Or just that something will happen that results in either it not being Tandy's baby or Carol not being pregnant.  I have been worried about it for a while. Since Todd made his speech about c-sections.

the idea of Aubrey Plaza and Jemaine Clement on the word's scariest road trip, doing God knows what, sounds like the greatest thing ever!

I couldn't agree more.  As that scene played out I was thinking to myself that the level of awesome in that car should have shattered the cameras.

  15. I liked the episode too. Tandy trying too hard got old quick, as it does these days, but I liked little Jasper.  Of course the kid is going to be extremely maladjusted living on his own for 3 years eating nothing but candy, but the choosing Erica part was great (best of 49!) and the end was sweet with him cradling Gary.

And I did like Tandy's line about adding rules to the game after it started, because he was trying to bribe the kid with cigarettes.  I also loved sweaty, comatose Melissa smiling and nodding a little when it's revealed Tandy was bribing Jasper with smokes.  Even in that state she still calls BS on the Tandy-man.

  16. I really couldn't tell if Patrick was being "funny" or just being a jerk.  He came across as a jerk to me but at the same time David does need to be put in his place.  Drinking their stock (juice).  Forgetting to get insurance on the store.

I was pretty happy about David's potential new man but after this episode I was missing the Stevie days.
