I noticed on the flyer that Jill posted (copied above) about the tent revival that there were a couple of "Guest speakers" [preachers] shown, w/ photos, and then there was a pic of the Rodrigues family as a whole. Just "Special Music" by the Rod family. No reference to David as a preacher or speaker. IMO his preaching must be pretty mediocre, to not even get a passing nod on the revival flyer.

If David prints those flyers, not having his name on them would burn.

Why do I hope this is the case?

Yep, Jill and Dave have been rather outspoken in their criticism of several pastors at churches they attended; to the point where they were asked to leave and not return.  Definitely happened when they lived in upstate New York.  Dave gave a fire and brimstone speech criticizing the pastor because parish women were dressing like floozies in pants and such and demanded the pastor do something about it.  The pastor tossed them out.

If I remember correctly, the pastor had plenty of support. The Rods weren't as important to the church as Jill and David thought they were.

Probably the only thing that keeps their current church from showing them the door is that Jill and David are away for their once-a-year vacation every six weeks.

Oh wow a tent revival! That is new 🙄. I wonder if it was old fashioned? Honestly, this is all these people got. Those poor kids having to sit through this.

It used to be advertised as an "old fashion" tent revival, a term which best home school mama also used. That apparently has been removed, although the old family photo is still there. The special-music Rodriguii are several members fewer these days, so false advertising.

Looks like Pastor Cowgill has a son to carry on the family traditions.

Her whole vibe reminds me of the movie pleasantville...only Jill lives in Amishville....daily life is all performative....these kids are in the cult of Jill who controls all.....I have hope for Heidi and Tim...the others not so much...unless one of the other siblings breaks free...

There are enough unmarried Rodlets left that I'd gamble on at least one or two of them getting an inkling that they're been badly cheated by their parents. What, if anything, will come of that is unclear.

Unfortunately, the practically non-existent "home schooling" the younger kids are receiving means they'll be even less educated than Nurie, Tim, and Kaylee. Having skills limited to dusting tchotchkes and sticking plastic plants in a rock garden does not bode well for managing life away from BME.

  5. I wouldn't dream of using my grown children to boost my ego by pressuring them to buy stuff they don't need and can't afford. Jill is thinking about her bragging rights and dreams of another island vacation she and Hunk can't appreciate or even really afford. She's not giving a single thought to the welfare of her children and grandchildren. The woman is impossibly greedy, self-centered, materialistic, and destructive.

Jonathan is hopelessly sucked into the Jill vortex right now. It's too bad Dave Ramsey, whose course Kaylee and Jonathan took, hints about losing money with MLMs but doesn't have to nerve to speak out against them That might have sparked something in Jonathan's mind.

Why she always makes strange faces???

She insists her children make the same strange faces in photos too. This is a  woman who spills a whole bottle of emojis and scatters Random CAPITAL LetteRs in every post she makes, after all.

    Look at me!!

Look how much fun I'm having!!!

I'm being persecuted! Feel sorry for me!!!!

I don't know how to express my emotions in words!!!!! 😭

And, not only that, except for the veil, most women and men wore essentially the same clothing in Jerusalem when Jesus lived.  Yet, we don't see Jill wearing a veil; just cheap extensions and baseball bonnets.

Think of the money she could save and use to buy food to feed her kids. A veil covering her face would save even more. Even dollar store makeup in the amounts she uses adds up.

Seems Mama has joined the unsafe rod drivers being ticketed.

Homes county where Tim's house is located

    Dec 2023 Speeding 60 in a 45 zone in dec. fine $137 - 2 points

02/05/2024 what appears to be another tictet for 67 in a 45

02/21/2024 FAILED TO APPEAR. OHIO OPERATOR'S LICENSE TO BE FORFEITED

    Then she paid up $194

no idea if she actually lost her license.

Her entire Plexus paycheck for the month went straight to the DMV. I'd say something about her poor kids, but she wouldn't have spent the money on them anyway.

Oh, maybe it was retreat cash instead of Plexus pay. Stuff about the kids still goes.

They were probably headed to church. Maybe a 6 pm service?

ETA Looked it up, and Sunday evening service is at 5. No clue what they were doing on the road when they should have been in church.

I'll bet there was a collective sigh of relief from the church members that evening:  No screechy violins, no whining from Jill, no boring canned sermon from David, no Rods clearing the dessert table before anyone else could get there.

Jill will have a hard time spinning pity to grift money for repairs of a van hubby crashed while running a stop sign.

True. She's already damaged her grift by showing off too many vacations, meals out, new clothes, home decorations, and shopping trips. Now, her headship has set her back. Again.

Maybe Tim can talk Mimi and Pops into buying some insurance for these situations.

When has she ever taken any of her kids on a Plexus trip?

Not that I recall. Maybe she's hoping that Nurie, Nathan, Kaylee, and Jonathan can qualify for trips on their own, and the six of them can be happy Plexus travelers together. Nathan may balk at the the out-of-pocket expenses for these affairs, but poor Jonathan will just work overtime.

As for why Nurie needs a baby shower, she doesn't.  JILL DOES.  Memaw wants the world to know she is getting a grand daughter and undoubtedly has registered for grandma gifts for herself.  Remember when she was pregnant with Janessa and Nurie and the older girls held a 'Let's Pamper Mama' shower?  The only things on the registry were things for Jill including new bedding.  It's quite possible, that all these years later, Jill needs a new comforter and sheets to celebrate her grandmotherhood. It's not too late for Jill to get a brand new Kitchen Aide mixer.

I think that ship has sailed. Even the Gofundme for Ma's stroke fell short, and the Rods are still stuck with the junky stink bus.

People who know Jill must be wise to her obvious and well-advertised gift grabs and probably don't have the money or desire to support her in the style she thinks she deserves.

Jill is never gonna let Janessa go or mature at all. J will be stunted the worst. I pity J the most out of the kids. Jill will treat her as a pet cat or emotional support caboose…

    #freejanessa

I think there will be some interesting dynamics in Family Rodrigues as the kids grow up and make their own lives (or not). Jill claims the kids are each others' (and her) best friends and are always happy, but they are allowed and even encouraged to be competitive and even mean to each other. Jill doesn't hide that she has obvious favorites, and that must hurt. I wouldn't be surprised if cracks appear in the shiny veneer, and some of it ends up being public.

The Duggars tried to sell the myth that they were just one big happy family, and we see how that turned out as some of them started to question how "happy" things really were. Of course, the Duggar kids had the misfortune to grow up on television, which is even worse than being plastered all over social media.

Tim is gonna leave 100 smiley tracts in the nursing home while preaching to poor tired seniors. And they will be his captive audience and to get rid of Tim the seniors will accept Jesus!

After sampling Tim's video pod casts, or whatever he used to call the monotone, depressing ramblings he recorded at work and later in his trailer, I'd say an hour of Tim might be helpful for any people in the nursing home with sleep problems.

I can't help thinking about how TV's Saul Goodman from Better Call Saul started his legal empire selling services to residents of nursing homes. If Tim only had Saul's drive and personality, he might capture a few souls and sell insurance at the same time. However, it seems Jill and David stomped out Tim's personality at an early age. Maybe Heidi will help him get some of it back. If Tim can't make money by grifting or by working, Heidi may balk at pumping out an entire army of little Rods for God.
