Do you think this is what Brennan was hinting at when she mentioned "the way things are going" when she was cut season 15? The previous few seasons had seen some "older" ladies making the team but the season 15 intake was more of a return to the 70s/80s 18/19 year old.

When Brennan said " She didn't like the direction that the team was going," I almost gagged. I thought that was one of the most entitled things I've ever heard. I was so disappointed that everyone here just let that slide. But Kelli did get her together, so I'll just have to settle for that.

IMO, these last two seasons have been the strongest in years. They seem to have fewer unremarkable blenders (I'm looking dead at Brennan as I type that).

The only ones I would give that label to on this squad is Madeline S. and Kristen.

So I think the direction the team went was uniformly stronger, better spoken dancers.

With Christina not being the solid dancer they wanted,

I've watched several clips of performances this season, and have been really impressed how strong this year's squad is.  Literally, everyone looks great (IMO).

Why do you thinks Christina's dancing is not up to par?

  3. I believe the issue with Heather was that they were specifically warned not to have nudes on their phone, because it happened to Holly A. And yet she still had risque photos on her phone. Therefore, the demotion seems to make sense, and in keeping with their normal (and justified) practices. She made a mistake, and was upfront about it. And nothing came of it. But the idea that she was mistreated seems absurd to me.

Probably gonna need a flame retardant suit for saying this…Armani is over weight.   She is a wonderful dancer but that belly looks like mine and that’s not a good thing.

I too noticed, she WAS DCC heavy during the judge's showcase.  However, if you look at the video recently posted of them on the field she back in uniform shape.

ALSO...... this weeks sob story was off the charts RIDICULOUS!!!  I swear, it was the longest sob story and off the charts ridiculous.  Instead of these stupid sob stories (who hasn't had a grandparent die??) maybe they share a little about their life before TCC.  Like college, jobs, etc.

What made it (to me) worthy of a backstory is because it was death by suicide.  I could not even imagine a grandparent, who is the center of the family, committing suicide.  This is not your average death  by old age.

They're not going to take tips from an anonymous internet user. I feel like some of y'all aren't truly aware of how unimportant our perceptions of the show and DCC are to them. I also don't really have a problem with their stance. This forum is far from representative of everyone that watches the show or follows the DCC. I sense general discontentment here with the methods through which the show and the DCC operate. I've seen plenty say they have suggestions for and critiques of how they market themselves and argue that their work in that department is subpar or even bad, yet the show and the DCC continue to grow in popularity as far as we know. It remains one of CMT's most popular programs and its longevity is indicative of that. I think that whatever it is they're doing is working and continues to do so. I'm not saying all the suggestions/critiques are invalid, but I believe they most likely mean nothing or not nearly as much to the majority and as a result nothing to the DCC or CMT. I don't think they're going to cater to the whims of a absolute online vocal minority, nor do I think they have any good reason to. Money is money and this isn't where it comes from.

I absolutely agree with everything above.  I also think that the talent pool is getting better and better.  Which is just another indicator that the TPTB are doing something right.

I'm as cynical as they come, and definitely see areas that could use improvement, but it is hard to argue with success.

  7. I am very excited about this season. I'm don't quite he grasp the griping about lack of info. We've seem to get the tea in pretty quick order.

I never thought I would be defending Kelli, but I actually consider her quite successful at her job, by almost every OBJECTIVE measure.

I have lots of problems with the morality of professional cheerleading. To me it seems very anti women and sets terrible aspirational examples for young women. However, under her stewardship DCC are definitely the best. I view pro cheerleading similar to child beauty pageants, disturbing and compelling.

CMT has so many storylines to cover. Hopefully, they won't manufacture any drama.

If this means MacKenzie made SG this year, then good for her! That girl is the hardest working rookie I've seen in a bit. I see her everywhere dancing with the veterans. Her and Armani should of made SG last year, but there just wasn't enough spots. Did Armani make SG?

Marissa, McKenzie, and Claire all made show group last year as rookies.

I really hope Armani made SG this year.

LMAO. Meghan Flaherty came off as an entitled loon to me. I wouldn’t even try to reason with her myself. I would just let her “go off” and laugh. Kelli was like girl bye. Also, that scene is not that dramatic or that big of a deal. Maybe for a show like DCC, but I watch Housewives as well so it was nothing to me.

The real problem with Meghan F is that she couldn't dance. She NEVER looked good. She was not a great public speaker or a stunner. Why was she in training camp?

I so hate to speak ill of the dead. But she was definitely not up to it, dance nor ambassador-wise.

Charm choreographed the 2021 super bowl halftime show.

Oh my. That was the worst halftime show EVER.  ALL OF IT WAS TERRIBLE.  That choreography was so simple, I could have done it.

I should rewatch it, to be sure it was as bad as I remember, but I just can't bear it.

@hypeman, I swear Robin and Cersten did.

You're making me do research, instead of going with my own personal conspiracy theories.  LOL.

Cersten's year it was Maddie, Mandy, and Maggie (not sure about the 3rd one, but it wasn't Cersten).

Robin's year it was Holly P., Amy T., and Megan C.  Those were three great dancers, so this year seemed justified.

I'd replace Ashlee, Chandi, and McKenzie with Lexie, Jada, and Darian.

Every single time I see Ashlee dance, she kills it.

I'm amazed that they put a rookie front and centre! If she's that good, why didn't she make show group?

Have y'all ever noticed no WOC ever makes show group as a rookie.  Not Jacie, not Jackie Bob, not Jenna, not Mia, not Robin, not Cersten.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I pointed those five out because they all made show group the next year and all moved up very quickly in the triangle.  Cersten closed solos as a 2nd year and was in the triangle for HOF performance (after Jenna was removed) over Maddie and Lauren, who made show group as rookies.

Cause some people like Brennan, and some don't. It's the same for all TCCs and DCCs. It's not that hard to figure out, and not that big of a deal. Lol.

I was probably being overly harsh. I don't dislike Brennan or anyone.

But you are right. It is no big deal.

For all we know ey could have gotten a memo that gave several suggestions and this was one of them.

Why are so many excuses being made for Brennan? Every step must have been a grand conspiracy against her or bad editing.

I, personally, found the "Wash your hands" face mask obnoxious.

I'm a mask wearer and hand washer, but that mask is the definition of classlessness and tackiness.

Also her IG post was BS. I hate anyone playing the victim. Making vague IG posts is not bold or world class (Hannah too).

She barely made the team and if she displayed any sort of attitude she was gone.

She was a blender and only had the DCC look if you squinted really hard. This was not a difficult cut.

There are several mature, well-spoken women on the team. She didn't bring some special quality that made her indispensable.

I know Brennan has many fans, but I'm just going to call it as I see it.

okay I love Dani and Jada!

    Ummm, hell yes.

Jada is an instant favorite for me.  She seemed poised, genuine, and very natural in front of the camera.  I also love her look.

    Loved Armani too.

    Marissa killed it dancing.

The intros this episode are so much better than in seasons past.

Second worst to that horrible Tin Man routine Vivian thought up back in season 8 - I still have no idea what she was thinking with that.

Given what we know about reality shows, in general, and this one specifically, I truly believe the Tin Man disaster was staged by CMT.

Furthermore, I think the poem was intentionally chopped and screwed (meaning they took it out of order and deleted lines) to purposefully make Vivian look cray cray.

The talking heads, the fake apartments, the sob stories -- they are all put on them by the producers.  Remember the girls wear the same outfit, hair and makeup every night.  It's so easy to create any story line where they have weeks of footage.  They can make you look good or bad. Just wait for the Hannah treatment.  They'll be able to make her look bad.

The office scenes are edited to high hell.

I just want everyone to really understand that they are developing stories, drama, heroines, and villains.  What is shown is reality "adjacent".

  17. The common theory on here is that Jenna was a mean girl. I dispute that. I see her constantly with former teammates, and she's been a bridesmaid for other DCC at least a couple of times.

On another note, I think Emily would have been a great DCC. She is absolutely gorgeous. Her dancing was fine. Especially, given the duds we've had over the years (Jessika, Meredith, Savannah, to name a few). If we can have Kat and Kelsey L. (knockouts of moderate dance ability), then surely we could of had Emily AND Vivian. To me they BOTH are stunners. Interesting that they are both Latina.

Episode 1209 (the Jenna/Holly mess).  I think both Jenna and Holly should have been shown the door immediately. I wonder if anything "extra" happened between that scene in the office with Holly and the next rehearsal where Kelli says they've accepted Holly's resignation.  Holly is shown walking out the door with what looks like a show group costume after the office meeting.  Wonder when she came back and returned that?  I also wonder which rookie TCC wouldn't have made it if Holly hadn't resigned.

I've said it multiple times, Jenna produced and that is why she stayed. Group leaders do a lot of the heavy lifting on the DCC. For whatever her flaws were, she appeared to be EXCELLENT at teaching and polishing those routines.  She brought her group up to her level.

Teaching really is a skill.  I used to teach graduate level students, and would get horrible reviews.  You don't just toss a good teacher away.

Her group was featured in almost 3/4 of the DCC social media posts her final year.
