Although certainly saddened by what happened with the miscarriage, I was left wanting more from this episode. We got to know Kevin and what makes him tick on a whole different level last week, and was hoping we would get similar with Kate. I did like how Kate finally "needed her mother," and was pleasantly surprised that Rebecca's unannounced visit did not end in Kate being snippy and sullen with her.

I wanted to learn more about teen Kate other than she wanted to go to Berklee, loved her dog, and was kinda broody. It disappointed me that other than the Berklee thing, the 90s part of the episode was a just a replay of last week's episode, but from Kate's perspective. I can see why TPTB did this, but I wanted more Kate, I guess.

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who walked away wanting more. Last week I felt like the history of Kevin made us understand him better (we always knew some stuff, but it seemed to "make sense' more after watching last week). I was hoping for an equally deep episode with Kate, but feel that we didn't learn enough about her. Still a good show of course! =)

How many of us knew [what had happened to Kate] when Toby's name showed on Kevin's phone?

Jack's "Get out of here!"/"Come back here!" to Kevin made me think of "You shut your mouth when you're talking to me!"

I've been getting better at catching these little clues, but for some reason Toby calling didn't register with me at all last night.

Jack's comments made me laugh. Reminds me of, "If you fall out of that tree and break your legs, don't come running to me." Fun things parents say when they're frustrated.

Fuck Dr. Drew so hard. This man really is an asshole. Does he truly hate women? Janelle needs to be contained?? David is mean to Barb because of how Barb treats Janelle? The fuck is wrong with this guy?

This infuriated me beyond words....as if he was praising David. Blech. On the other hand, Barb cracked me up with her talk of dating/men. =)

The expressions on the doctor’s faces while they were examining Kail at the beach - they were all of us.  If you really think there’s something wrong go to the hospital you moron!  No, you’re right - get on a boat to Cuba, much better idea.

This times 1,000. I laughed out loud (and rewound this scene) just to watch the dr's reactions again. Priceless!

  5. When the one younger sister (Jennifer? I get them confused), was visibly upset right before they walked down the aisle, I thought it was sweet that Joy was trying to comfort her. Then Michelle tried to get involved....uuggghhh...she bugs me to no end and doesn't help a situation.

Ha, so true.  I was hoping that Kevin's strong feelings in that scene would be channeled into his acting and he'd slay it, and they'd all, Sly and Ron included, be so impressed they would give him a standing ovation and be talking Oscars.

It makes me kind of mad that they keep making Kevin immature and unprofessional.  I would like to have someone on the show I really like, who is not a walking poster child for their decades old psychic trauma.

I thought Sly's talk before the scene started would channel Kevin to slay it too. Was sad to see that it had the reverse effect on him. =(

How fucking creepy was that aerial shot of Jenelle's house showing just how isolated they are? They're so removed, and David's outside ranting while swinging around tools, telling Jenelle to go in the house and stop pushing his buttons. I'm telling y'all, some day this dude's gonna snap and Jenelle will wish her only problem was planning Mother's Day.

That scene gave me the willies. Seriously.

  8. I'm not a frequent poster, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this (or if it should be posted at all). I also apologize if this has been posted before - I looked back through this thread and didn't see any reference.

I was curious about other couples they aren't showing from past seasons, and came across this. WTF is this? and why did I watch more than half of it? LOL

I loved Rachel schooling Steven on dating. "You got a drink for yourself? But she's thirsty!" *points at his date* Hee.

What I did not love was Kris schooling Steven on what a great catch her daughter is and how he shouldn't lead her on with side hugs and such. How about she have that same conversation with Megan instead of skirting around it like she always does? For instance, telling her not to have long make-out sessions with Sean when she has no interest in him because that might lead him to think she wants to date him.

I am done with Steven being treated like Voldemort. He can't even be asked about his date without someone shushing the question because it might hurt Megan's feelings. I'm hoping the dramatic statements Megan made at the end of the show mean this whole triangle is over and done with.

OMG...this a hundred times! I did not see that coming and was a bit stunned. Steven is no angel (ie claiming he didn't know Megan when talking to his date) but Megan has been dreadful the last few episodes.

Danielle, bless her heart.  Should she have even been allowed to make a decision to marry?

Mohamed "constumated" the marriage? And she needs to prove he did "fraud her".  Good lord.

I was watching with my teenage daughter. She was yelling at the TV, "Fraud is NOT a verb!" LOL

  11. As I watched, it seemed like the writers weren't quite sure if they were going to be picked up another season. During the speech at the end, it seemed so "final" to me - wrapping up the loose ends, finishing up. Then I thought maybe there'd be a bomb or another attack - that didn't happen. I thought maybe this was it for the show, but then they threw in the "come to the Command Center" at the end, almost like the writers recently found out they'd get a Season 2 and had to come up with something quick to lead into the new season. It was a bit fast moving, but I do enjoy the show overall. Seth is still my favorite. =)

She wasn't working for Toby's ex wife. His ex owned a shop, she stalked her there, interviewed with her, didn't take the job. Her job was with the Jamie Gertz character. She's not Toby's ex, that's not Toby's daughter.

Oh dear God....how did I completely miss that? Thank you for clarifying - not sure how I got that out of what I watched. =0

That was two different bosses.  Toby's ex was the store owner.  The mother of the daughter was someone completely different.  I don't even think she even worked for Toby's ex.  She just accepted the job, told Toby about it and they were both like, "NO, that's not going to work."

Right now the Kate becoming a singer plotline is not something that I'm really interested in. I guess it can be an interesting storyline in regards to her and Rebecca's relationship. I'm sad that Kate' previous job storyline wasn't something that the writers wanted to explore more.

This surprised me too, mostly because she was working for Toby's ex wife, and I had wondered if the daughter was Toby's. I was waiting for the time Kate would talk to Toby more about her job, and the dots would start connecting. Would have been interesting, but it looks like the writers didn't agree with me. LOL

I'm probably going to hell for this, but was anyone else thinking that President Keifer was going to get shot as he waved from the window?

I sure did! Was glad it didn't happen.

Was the flashback scene of William getting the Memphis postcard aired on the last episode or did they just film it for this show? Either way, it was a nice touch for Beth to have something to hold on to. BTW! Why am I obessesed with her watch? It wraps around and it looks like an Apple watch. They dress her so chic and the watch is just so cool looking.

When Beth got the postcard, I did recall (at least I think so LOL), that this was shown on the last episode...I remember commenting at the time that he found a postcard for Beth because she said something like, "Send a postcard" when the guys left for the trip.

Ali looked crushed when she wasn't getting praised for her writing. Then to say she's praising Gracie because it's so unusual for her to do well in school. So basically.... I'm praising you because usually you suck, um, thanks?

This was nuts. And it was such an awkward time..."gee I'm stuck in traffic. What should I do to kill some time?" Oh yeah....Gracie, way to not suck. I'm amazed you could pull this off." Poor Ali...

  17. Listening to Janelle's "speech" on how she's grown up in the court system, all the judges know her, etc was really sad. I wonder if she heard herself? Not sure why she sees that as a selling point, but I guess she does.

Same here! When watching him in the People vs. OJ, it took me awhile to figure out where I'd seen him before and then it hit me - Army Wives! And just like you, I decided I'd watch anything I knew he would be acting in.

Army Wives! Completely forgot about that one - I really liked that show. He was awesome in the People vs OJ too. Just an all around outstanding actor...

  19. Okay, this one really got me. Went from giggling at drunk Randall ("You get a cousin and you get a cousin...sorry, I was raised by white people") to an ugly cry 45 seconds later. I don't know how the writers do it - such a range of emotions in one episode. #emotionallyexhausted
