Nope...entire show is shot in order. The only things that is jumbled, is actual footage of tryouts for the girls they are featuring.

CMT pulls her aside to do talking heads between each part of the audition process, wow that seems like it would really extend the day

There is not enough between time on the morning of check in and Kelli's speech to update totals. Therefore we go off of applications received any the deadline, which is usually 2 days before prelims.

I was thinking in one of the talking heads she does, I know those have to be shot later in the day

100s of applications are turned in and end up being no-shows.

it would be nice if that was clarified on the show, simple one line "500 applied, and 300 showed up for auditions, rather than saying 500 auditioned" when there are clearly not that many in the stands, there are many reasons girls might not show for auditions and that's nothing against the DCC but it does appear strange to many watchers when it is possible to count how many girls are in the stands

To state that two completely different groups of women "serve the same purpose" since they are both judged in part by their physical appearance diminishes both occupations to that function.  I take issue with that, as it is insulting to women in both pursuits.  Of course Kelli and Judy judge potential DCC in partial accordance with their appearance.  That is a part of being a DCC.  Along with myriad other things, not the least of which include being an amazing dancer with the intellect and musicality to learn complicated material quickly, handle high pressure situations with grace, and who has the ability to work well in a team.  The complexity of what they do and the decisions that come from that is half the fun of watching the show.  Being a DCC - or a waitress, at Hooter's, or anywhere else - is far more than just being sexually appealing.  The fact that the appeal is a part of it, doesn't make the other components less than exceptional, or diminish their relative value.

@WichitaStateShock didn't say they "serve the same purpose" though she said "they serve some of the same purpose" truncating the quote and removing the word some changes the meaning. DCC, other pro cheerleading/dance teams, and Hooters girls DO serve SOME of the same purpose to attract attention and create revenue. And again I say these women know what they're signing up for and don't have a problem with that. Just because they serve SOME of the same purpose doesn't those occupations. And to be quite honest I've seen a much larger variety of women employed by Hooters, while they do look for certain things in appearance they aren't as discriminating when looking at appearance, they don't notice little things. I get DCC is a brand and that's why it's done again that doesn't finish their skills and the fact that they are at games for entertainment value.

I guess I am in the minority... I liked madyson with the hearing impairment.  I thought her personality was fun and resfreshing.   I think she just needs to lose some weight and tone the abs because girls with a more square figure need to be really fit (It's unfir but got to work with what you are given).  She has great hair and  even Kelli said her dance was strong.

I liked her too and had the same thoughts, loser a little weight and tone up

what does the amount of clothing they wear have to do with relative value?  And how are being a waitress and being a professional dancer "serving some of the same purpose"?  If you mean the fact that perhaps both groups of women are chosen in part because of how they look, and you have then chosen to relegate their relative achievements and accomplishments as no more than the sum of that fact, and diminish them in that light, that is a stunningly ignorant attitude.  Finally, the idea that the amount of money they might make (or not make) somehow vindicates what they do is terribly odd.  I get that this isn't a fan site, but it seriously doesn't have to be a misogynistic one, either.

Let's be honest here the girls at both Hooters and professional cheerleading wear short tight uniforms to draw attention. They sell swimsuit calendars to draw attention and revenue. I'm not doing this is a bad thing both groups of women know this is part of the job and clearly have no problem with it so why should we. Both of these have been jobs women have held while going to college for a full time career. That was @WichitaStateShock's point when she said some of the same purpose, they are there to draw attention, often male, that is not a bad thing but it is what it is. Neither of the two of us were relegating these women to solely their looks merely defending the poster who said that in the NYC dance world the DCC are on the level of Hooters girls. I read that initial post to mean girls who dance as a full time career or seem to dance as a full time career see less prestige in sideline dancing than in what they do much as servers in high end restaurants who have chosen that as there career might look at Hooters girls as having less prestige. They all do their jobs, hopefully all well. They enjoy what they do. It was simply an explanation of how they were/are viewed.

I don't think it is weird.  Many professional organizations regularly check twitter, instagram and Facebook for what activities that their employees are doing that may reflect poorly on the institution.  Try working in healthcare or academia either K-12 or university level.  Known people who have been terminated or disciplined as a result.  Shoot, you can be disciplined for being 3 minutes late to work.  Three of these occurences can result in termination.  Perhaps other work environments are less professional and more casual in approach.

As a teacher I've been told I can be disciplined if someone reports a picture of me online I don't even know exists that a parent finds questionable. So if I have a drink out somewhere and people are taking pics even if I'm only in the background it could go in my personnel file. It's part of having a job in many fields and these girls are highly visible

I get the idea of gold and all,  but these dresses look kind of...cheap? It would have been cooler to have gold stars on the uniform a la BCA month or something.

Or at least lose the poms, it's a banquet right? Hardly the place for poms. Better quality dresses, something

Absolutely to both of your points! I should have said comparing the two groups  of women is nonsense. One is a talented group of women that dance in the NFL and make appearances all over the world, the other serves hot wings.

And many of those women are doing it to work their way through college and a professional career.

If Jenna was put on probation or whatever, and she is taking her licks/punishment without outward resentment, fit throwing or quitting in a snit,  it raises my respect for her by quite a few notches.  That is a great example of being "world class."

For me world class would be not breaking the rules to begin with

Noooooooo!  I couldn't even watch it with the almost complete cast change in the final seasons.  The magic was in the casting of seasons 1-6.  Ditto "The West Wing", also mentioned for a revival!

I could do West Wing if it was the same cast but I don't think Sorkin will do it. Don't know what I think of an ER revival

I feel like this episode was a little bloated but at the same time I liked it. If they don't break out semi's and finals into their own episodes too I will be pissed. Just don't make finals a 2 episode cliffhanger CMT!

THIS ^^^ this is what I'm wondering on how they're padding out from 8 - 13 episodes, will they stretch the finals round into two episodes? I really hope not!!!

Whitney's behavior at being cut last year was WEIRD.  I get Kelli's dislike.

I'm sorry, but Christina is PATHETIC.  The number of times she's tried out plus the fact that she was FIRST in line for preliminaries, just makes her look desperate.  And her dancing is meh (at best).  If she makes the team, it'll be out of pity.

Kelly Q tried out five times before she made the squad, other girls have had to try out multiple times as well. I think Christina has worked on the areas of concern and she certainly looks more like a DCC now than she did last time she made TC.

While Kelli and Judy have kept girls that they were questioning: Morgan, Breelan, Allie, no way would they run the risk of ruining their brand/the squad just out of pity, if that were how they operated Amy and Kyndall would have made the team last year, especially Amy who had tried out five times

Lordy, what an episode Be Still My Heart is! I had the wind knocked out of me with the little boy wanting to see his dead parents, and to be played by Anton Yelchin to boot. ER really killed it at this type of thing.

Yeah that scene with Anton now is a killer for me, it was bad before but now it's just awful

To non-dancers, I offer some lingo to help translate critiques! :)

"Awkward" means insecure dancing/lack of technique showing/--could be nerves, but could be the lack of experience dancing powerful in that style --required in Pom, hiphop styles, etc. Jazz and ballet dancers understand technique but a different style of dance can lead to awkward or "too flowy, graceful" instead of pop and power.

"Clunky" means errors in placement, feet touching the ground flat and not through proper toe, ball, arch, heel and vice versa. (ballet work) not lifting/pulling up, not powerful placement of arms, poses. Pulling up Example: While sitting, make a note of your current posture. Now pretend a thread goes from the top of your head, down through your neck, spine, to your hip bones, and pretend that God Himself has pulled that string up up up-- feel your spine elongate by 2+ inches. That's basically what dancers do but apply it through their legs up their body to make each move look effortless (tis not effortless lmao).  It's hard and exhausting, but it gets those turns to infinity and those kicks to yo face! :)

"Be crispy like bacon, you're dull, bland," etc --girl, those moves need to have pop, finish, a wow factor. Hairography. A little bit of sexy. A dancer needs to own her real estate (space) and make. Each. Move. Count.

I hope this helps and doesn't yield all of the eyerolls and if someone had anything to add or correct, go for it! :)

    8 minute countdown!

how about "puppy dog hands" and "pastel"

Wow - I'd forgotten the delightful moments in "Be Still My Heart" - Romano & Greta's surgery, Holling's & Mama Corday's karaoke - because I knew what was coming at the end of the episode with Lucy & Carter ...

I love the karaoke and Abby with the old lady, Lucy and Carter I can't help but watch but it's so awful every time. Romano & Greta though I skip, change the channel or at least mute it. That "poodle surgeon" like pisses me right off every damn time. Hubby is a vet and worked damn hard to get that degree and dumb as it is bc it's a tv show it still pisses me off and there are just so many reasons why that whole situation is completely unacceptable.

BTW I hate that this set of shows has now been split up twice. I hate having to wait to see it tomorrow. These two epis are definitely in my ER top 10, along with Mark's end.

Holly is an example of how immaturity can kill what would have been a really great career.

if the rumors are true, if you consider DCC a career, and if you think that whatever reason she left for will get passed on to any future employers. Pretty sure it's the law that if someone calls to ask about employment history all a former employer can say is that someone worked for them. Honestly as much as the idea that Holly quit bugs me, depending on what they show on the show she can use nearly any excuse and it's frequently seen as better when someone leaves a job rather than when they are fired/cut/let go. She can always claim it was just getting in the way of her school work, that she needed to concentrate as she got into her third year of college. Maybe she'll move back home and say it's something about her family. We'll just have to wait and see, but I don't think this is necessarily a career killer.
