    • When barricading a door, do not rely on a bed on wheels.  If that is your choice, at least try to lock the wheels.
    • Don't stand in front of glass walls taunting the dead by your presence.  Perhaps if you are not in their line of sight, they may forget you're there.
    • Do not do what too many of the truckers did and turn your back on a someone you've just met, especially when that someone is sporting a fetching socks, sandals, floods combo and has mud smeared on their face.

I kept saying this to the t.v.- expecially #1 when every damned time they were barricading themselves they kept using items with wheels!! My boyfriend finally looked over at me and asked why I was watching the show if I was so bothered (he is not a fan) and you know, I had no answer :O(

I absolutely agree with points 2 and 3 as well.

Least we forget the dramatic affect that being "alone" has on all the contestants.  With no other stimuli things that ordinarily would be dismissed become the focal point of days.  A hunter who dispairs over the kill, a women who becomes obssessed by tge color of her hut cover or obsessing over mice in a hut.  I feel that in most comments here viewers do not take this into consideration and instead we evaluate these people as if they arr acting abnormal in what woukd be our real world.  Their is nothibg real in being out in the woods,  by ones self,  often without food and often witg large preditors close by.  Nothing NORMAL should be expected in anyones behavior.  Its part of what makes Alone great.  Watching how these pychological challanges manifest in each of the contestants. WHAT A GREAT SHOW!

Agree!! This is why I watch it. I like to find out what makes people tick.

Alcoholism is a whole different beast than vegetarianism though and relapses are no joke. I don't think it would be a huge burden for the show to think of an alternate way to do this challenge without having to put an alcoholic in a room with a ton of different beer that he then has to make a mixed beer drink with (whatever that was called). Aside from the fact that it's, again, shitty to do that to an alcoholic, I would think it would be a liability issue for Bravo as well.

As an alcoholic myself, I appreciate your outrage for Chris (? don't remember everyone's name yet), however if he's in a program he should have the tools to deal with this situation. He said he's been sober for 3 years, I think, and although a relapse can happen at any time, the fact of the matter is that once we admit we have a problem and cannot drink like normal people we don't go into isolation. We learn to deal with our disease. I thought he did really well considering.

I think in the parade interview she did a great job of taking responsibility for her mistakes in the game.   I did not get any racial overtones regarding her comments regarding the compass challenge.  She said she didn't know what a rose compass was because she doesn't hike or boat.   Whereas someone like Brad  (who lives near water, and is older and richer) might be exposed to it.  Nothing racial there (but there goes that racial lens by which the world views.....)

I agree 1000%. I thought that she was very well spoken in that interview. She took responsibility for her social game (or lack there of) and she knew that because she was sitting there being pissed and feeling sorry for herself she missed the advantage that Sarah found. I love her and am sorry that she was voted off. But- that's the show.

  5. Becca seems like kind of a spaz to me. I think it's hilarious. I was very irritated with Michael for not turning around- or like many have pointed out, pulling over to look at the map himself if he didn't believe Liz. But I would take 10 hours of him over 1 minute of Brook. I HATE WHINING! Just the sound of her voice makes me want to smack the living crap out of her. As a woman, it is a point of pride with me that when something seems next to impossible to do,  I take a deep breath and think about it for a second to see if there is a different approach that I can take to get the job done. I absolutely can't handle people that get hysterical and EXPECT others to help them. YMMV

  6. I like this season so much more than last- and I did enjoy last season. Other than Shannon right now, no one else seems to have a crappy attitude. I am really fascinated by what people who really have a comfortable life - compared to poorer nations- do with the barest necessities. Floving this so far.

  7. ok, I admit that I haven't made it through all 7 pages of this thread, so if I am repeating what someone else already posted, please forgive me. I know that David is not a good dancer- and David knows that he is not a good dancer. In his package I felt like he was saying good bye- it was fun, and he couldn't believe it that he had made it that far. I did think that Bonner and Dave would be the boot Monday night, I was ok if it was Bonner and Nick. I was shocked that it was Nancy. This is some crazy stuff!!

  8. I think it's interesting how so many people found Liv to be "simple", as I have always thought of her as shy and quiet. To me she just seems very calm like she's weighing what she is going to say.

The way that I interpreted her reaction to the information about George is that she was amazed by how strong he must have been to have seen such horrors during the first battle, but then continued in the Army as a sergeant when they needed more fighting men. It had to take incredible fortitude after seeing what artillery does to the human body- and remember that the field surgeons at the time had little resources to operate on the battlefield.  Liv said at the beginning of the episode that she wanted to research her father's mother's side because they already had a lot of information about the Italian side (Tyler is a shorted version of a longer Italian last name). I really liked this episode.

  9. I thought that Emily's bug looked like a cockroach. I just couldn't shake that image, and I really didn't like it. I absolutely genuinely like all of the final 3- was happy Cig won, but was kind of pulling for George. He just comes off as so sweet.

  10. I don't think that Jack has jealously issues, I think that he was pissed to find out that the dude in the band was an ex-boyfriend, and to find out from said dude. That would piss me off too. If you aren't honest with your spouse and they find out something like that they start to wonder what the hell else you're not telling them. Been there, done that.

To be fair, though, according to one of the FB chats they (used to?) have, the contestants do get notified where they are going a few weeks before they leave which gives them time to research the area.

They have even shown some of the "contestants" commenting on this in the opening into.

I didn't like this episode but I can't put my finger on why. I didn't like either of the contestants that much.

It's getting kind of suspicious how often the Day 20 Miracle Food Source is occurring. I look out for it now.

When Shannon put the pot down on the rock while looking for food in the water I thought- I wonder what fish is going to jump into that pot for them since they NEED food right now.  LOL- I'm relieved to see that I am not the only cynical one.

My son the Gherkin doesn't watch as much with me anymore, but when SyFy runs back to back episodes the tv goes on, and stays there.......he was sitting with me when the Snow Queens epi was on, and he said "Why are they even allowed to see what each other is doing?  Shouldn't they have walls or something b/w booths so they don't all look alike?"  I understand how that would present a fundamental problem, but he's not totally wrong.  It got me thinking, for sure............if you are struggling and look over at a more successful team, would that not jumpstart an idea/look?  I don't know how that would even be possible to accomplish, but it's something to consider.  Looking forward to seeing what ya'll think........

That is actually genius! It would indeed be very interesting if they couldn't see what everyone was working on.

  14. Mr. jt is not a fan, and only catches glimpses of the show when I'm watching and he can't escape, when seeing Negan said he looks like a combination of Bowser and Anthony Bourdain.  I laughed so hard and even gave him a high five! He also pointed out that he doesn't understand why people would follow someone like him. He really is not a threat by himself, so why would anyone allow him to be such a douchewaffle?

I am really hoping that Eugene is setting himself up to be okay incase this is indeed where he will spend the rest of his days- he knows that CDB is totally out numbered and has witnessed innocent people dying just for dipshit to make a point without any push back from Rick.

I still love the show- have never read the comics, so am free to just accept what I am shown. I would be very bored if the show were just a bunch of people fighting Zombies every episode. YMMV :O)

  15. ok, my 2 cents: agreed that both Katsuji and John could both go- don't care which, just go. It looked to me like Kats was demanding that John and Sheldon drop whatever they were doing to "help" (sous chef for) him. I think that and the disruptive behavior by both of the boys is what through Sheldon off- he did successfully make stews at least twice before. John's dish was just nasty- no way around it- and I thought that he wanted to make it so it would be done ahead of time freeing him to help Kats.... the whole damned thing was a cluster and a 1/2. Casey should have told one of the servers to cover her when she realized that John was doing fuck all- and she was going to have to plate 17 portions of her desert.

Someone up thread said that they haven't worked in kitchens before but John's system sounded like b.s.- I have worked in kitchens before and I have never heard expediting like that. The numbering systems tend to be simple, clear and concise so that everyone knows what is up, what is next and where it goes.

Negan and a chunk of his crew showed up at Alexandria. Where Rick had superior numbers (unlike on the road), fortifications, and an arsenal even Negan was impressed by. They could have unloaded on him and everyone there and killed the lot. Sure, some of them might have died too but that's part of combat. With the head of the snake and at least some of his lieutenants dead the rest of the Saviors would have been left without direction. Does that mean they'd be easy pickings? Maybe not. But it wouldn't be much more of a threat than what Rick has faced before. Alternatively, if Rick has been emasculated by Negan that he's decided to stop resisting all together, why not load up their cars and run? If they don't either fight or run this is going to be a pretty dull show from now on if it's nothing but Rick kneels before Negan.

I hadn't thought of that. I also just realized that it could have been an opportunity to get Darryl back. He wasn't exactly chained to anyone- in fact he was helping load the truck with the loot.

  17. Ok, my two cents- FWIW. I like this show. I accept that it's nutty and implausible a lot, but I do like it. I love Carl- to me he's awkward and impulsive just like my 2 boys at that age. I can absolutely see my boys going off 1/2 cocked like that. Question- wasn't Greg somehow involved with the site of Hilltop pre ZA when it was a historical site? Maybe he was hiding out there when other people found the location so he was the defacto  leader?????

  18. Cornelius' dress looked like the flight attendant uniforms on The Fifth Element to me. HATED that BS Erin made- same with what Nathalia made. In the beginning of this season I really didn't like Cornelius' shade throwing ass, but after he got knocked down a few pegs he is tolerable to me. Conversely I really liked Dexter and Erin in the beginning- now can't stand either one, and am thrilled Dexter and his inflated ego will be off my tv.

  19. I just re-watched a couple of the dances with the sound off, and I must say that I absolutely LOVED James' dance! He looked like he was leading the whole time. It just seemed really powerful to me. I absolutely adore Laurie & Val. She may not be the best dancer that ever danced, but I love her attitude. Maybe that is why I like James, Calvin and Laurie the most this season- all three are working hard to learn to dance, but are having fun too. Marilu and Derrick make me anxious- it's no fun. And I don't like the Gleb Janna BS especially because he's married. I do like Terra and Sasha- again, because it just seems like within all the work, there is some fun going on. This is also all just conjecture since I am basing my opinion on edited television :O)

  20. I thought that Erin should go on this one. What she sent down was just bullshit and she knew it. I will give it to Laurence, she said that she knew she f'd up the pants when they went down the runway- she even tried to admit to the judges that she knew that she sewed them wrong, but the judges just kept talking over her. I didn't LOVE anything that went down today. Is there some kind of petition or complaints section somewhere that people can sign/fill out/protest that we the fans would not have so much to bitch about if THEY WOULD JUST GIVE THEM ENOUGH TIME TO ACTUALLY DESIGN/PRODUCE fashion worth looking at????? Maybe Tim, Heidi, Zac and Nina could take a pay cut to fund the extra production time :O)

  21. I absolutely love this season. I like "haunted house stuff" - I think that's why I loved the first season so much. I do like the twist of it being shot like a reality show, since the only ones that I watch are completion based (GAR, Top Chef, PR and okay Survivor) so I love to make fun of this stuff. So far this season has scared me in a good way. I'm in :O)

  22. I did like Katie Lynn, she sounds like Patsy Cline to me. I didn't like the adult female vocalist (and since one of my husbands favorite bands is Heart - he was pissed that she butchered that song). I think that the kid magician is cute - however I figured out the switch in about 2 seconds. The rubics cube guy was amazing! I have no idea how he did that. I also see that he has some versatility in his act incorporating the card into the trick. I believe that he was robbed. I tend to judge the acts by 1. would I be willing to watch this for an hour? and 2. would I pay to watch this for an hour? Most of these acts I would be bored with after about 10 minutes and I sure as hell wouldn't pay for the privilege.

  23. I am rooting for Sheri and Cole- I was really hoping that the dancers would go home. I liked Bernie and Ashley- even when they had problems in a leg, they worked together to fight their way through. I didn't mind Tyler and Korey until tonight. Tyler has such a cocky arrogant attitude that is really off putting. Dana is just such a jerk to Matt- cannot stand her voice!!!!!! So.... guess I will half ass watch the finale and hope that Tyler and Dana do not win.

  24. I too was shocked that I ended up really liking (heck even rooting for) Ken. I liked Ken's collection the best as well, mainly because there were outfits that I would actually wear. I did not like the colors that Dom used to create the plaid print. Maybe if she had used the same colors that she used on the other print that she created I would have liked it more. I really enjoyed this season--- not the Sam crap- homeboy should have gone long before he did, but I really liked everyone else.

Like a lot of people I really DO NOT like the limited time for the challenges. I know that we would see a much improved end product from the more talented designers if everything weren't so rushed. I don't think that the "judges" should even be allowed to comment on finishes and the like if they don't give the contestants enough time to make anything worthwhile. JMHO
