  1. On season 4 on my rewatch on Hulu.  Man, I'd forgotten how obnoxious the whole "I'm doing this for Zoi!" bit was.  Like, dude.  She didn't die.  She got eliminated on a game show.

I also forgot how much fun Andrew was to watch.  And I still adore Antonia.

    Edited to add:

I fucking hate Lisa and her smug face and her greasy hair.  She just looked like she never showered, and that just turned me off from eating anything she put on a plate.

Except for the prize of the expensive new kitchen last week, where have all the prizes gone?  There used to be money prizes, trip prizes, wine prizes.

Rewatching from the beginning on Hulu, and the prizes weren't really there early on.  There were cookbooks from the gust judges or an invitation to work with them at a festival.  The big trips and money prizes were in the later seasons - probably once the show took off.

  3. I'm rewatching from the beginning on Hulu, and am on the season 2 finale.  While I totally get that some people just rub you the wrong way and you hate them for no logical reason, they really went too far with Marcel.  Yeah, his hair looked like whipped cream and he was a little cocky, but mostly he just came off (upon new viewing) suuuuper awkward.  There were times I rolled my eyes at him, but I just don't get why everyone decided to dogpile on him.  I'd totally forgotten about Frank threatening him for putting his toiletries bag on the floor.  It's not like he tossed his toothbrush, brush-side down, on the floor.  I did, however, agree that the foams were useless and unappatizing. :P

If anyone was the "villain" of the season, fucking Ilan.  I can't.  At the beginning of the last episode, it really felt like he wanted to beat Marcel rather than win.  His win felt like rewarding shitty behavior.  Ugh.

On a side-note, as a woman who has shaved her head twice, it is the most liberating thing ever, and I am kind of tempted to do it again...

  4. "I may not be able to see, but I can smell bitches from a mile away" needs to be on a tshirt.  Also, it reminded me why I fell in love with this show in the first place.

It was a good finale, but so rushed.  They really should have taken the whole back end of the season to build this.  I didn't mind the twin "twist", I figured it was either that or Wren because he was supposed to be Uber A back in the day.

I am going to miss this batshit crazy show, but not enough to watch PLL: The next generation.

Don't anyone shoot me, but I really like my Formica.

We still rent, but someday, my dream kitchen will have formica counters.  Partly because of ease of cleaning and whatnot, but also because my dream kitchen will also be totally retro. :)

  6. I feel like I'm the only one who genuinely enjoyed this episode.  It actually held my attention, and had a nice mix of humor with the crazy.  Loved Aria going a little nuts talking to the dead body, and actually had a good chuckle at Ezra's Masters line.  Mona was fantastic and it was true to character.  I am going to be sad for the show to end, even though it's a little past its due date.  I am really looking forward to next week.

  7. I don't hate Maddie as much as some, but I did find myself saying "Shut UP, Maddie!" more than once.  A first!  I did, however, think she looked gorgeous in the breakup scene.

    That's... all I got.

Isn't New Hampshire where Nicole and her parents are now? Is that where they're originally from? There has to be a reason that AD chose New Hampshire for Aria's alibi.

I thought they said Maine, NH's next door neighbor.

  9. Pretty solid episode.  As a Keene State College grad, the highlight for me was the random "We have pictures of you in Keene, NH" fake alibi, haha.

I think Ali is working with/for the cops.  Which is how Tanner called her on the burner phone.

Did anyone else hear April at the beginning of the ep instructing people to "CHECK EVERY AIRWAY!"? I thought that was nice, subtle callback to I Saw What I Saw when April was ultimately fired for not checking an airway.

That actually got a legit laugh from me.

  11. Because I am really bad about searching for this stuff, does anyone know if a gif exists of Winn mouthing "I love you" to Superman?  Because that was the comedic highlight of the show.

Loved, loved, loved the fight between Supergirl and Superman.   Mr. D and I were both saddened by Rhea's death.  We were hoping they'd keep her around (locked up) for the snark factor alone.

I would love for the baby to be Lena Luther, but I have a feeling it's not.  There was so much hype about who was in the betta fish lifeboat last year, and it turned out to be way less interesting than we'd hoped, so I'm not getting my hopes up for something awesome.  I am also trying to stay spoiler-free...

All in all, good episode.  If only the whole season had been as interesting as the last few episodes...

    Never mind.  Found it. :)

To be fair, Molly treated Mer like trash -- even after Mer donated her a kidney.

Eeem... did I miss it? I remember only episodes where Mer donates her kidney to their father... so I guess she doesn't have an extra kidney to give it up. Am I right?

It was her liver (or part of it) that she donated to her father.  I don't recall her donating a kidney to her sister.  If she had, I feel like it wouldn't have been as big of a deal that she donated her liver.

Wasn't it Izzy who had to donate something to her daughter, but her daughter's parents didn't want her to know?  Maybe that was the kidney donation?

  13. Like most people here, I just don't get the appeal of Meredith and Riggs.  Also, when a widow says that she's married, you just stop.  Let her take the time she so obviously needs.  UGH, I wish she had just walked away at the end.

How long til the home version of the Pretty Little Liars board game (as brought to you by Parker Brothers) starts being sold as a merchandise tie-in?

I'm waiting, and I would buy it.  As someone who loves board games and plays them weekly with my husband, I loved it.

I actually really liked the episode.  I'm looking forward to the next few weeks!  This show is ridiculous, it always has been.  I'm looking forward to crazy final episodes!

  15. Going into the finale, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to find that we would be OK with any of the final 3 winning.  They praised Jordan's cake so much, I had a feeling it would be him.  Especially since they couldn't stop eating his cake after the judging.

I noticed with Adam, he has great ideas, and if I ever find myself in Mystic, I will be stopping by his bakery, but towards the end he cracked a little under the pressure - the judges were finding more faults with his work, the dishes kept being *just* short of perfect.

I was pleasantly surprised - the first episode, when they introduced Jordan, I blurted out "Cannon Fodder!"  Happy to be proven wrong.

So, overall, decent season, pretty happy with how it ended.

  16. My husband and I totally thought John was going to go, but after all was said and done, it came down to: John's food was delicious (per the judges). They loved it.  It just wasn't modern enough, and yeah, he didn't use the cherries.  While Courtney nailed the theme of the challenge, it was poorly executed.  Her pie crust cookies were overdone, and the chocolate mousse piece didn't come together right.  It was OK, but out of everyone's dishes, it was the one with the most faults.

We are really enjoying this season, though, because we don't actually hate anyone.  We're actually digging the apparent friendly competition going on between Adam and Jordan.  They know they are each other's competitions, but it doesn't feel malicious.

I very did not like Jesse's line at the beginning something to the effect of "everyone" first baking with mom or something.

This didn't really bother me, but I turned to Mr. D and was like "Ummm... Mom doesn't bake.  Dad taught me".  But I get that "traditionally" people learn from their Mom/Grandma.  We totally thought they were going to pull a Top Chef on them and their mom's would be there...

Jason, a home baker, won the last season of Holiday Baking challenge. It can be done. But not by Fausto

Yes, it can be done, and we were so thrilled that he won!  Jason was our favourite!  But he could hold his own with the pros, Fausto just wasn't up to the task.  Which is why I think the comment of "We have a home baker vs. pro" even came up.  Going forward, would it be worth keeping the amateur who will just fail miserably at the next big challenge, or keep the pro who has at least attempted the upcoming tasks in his training?

  18. Last week, I didn't recognize the gust star du jour.  This week, I was like "Is that HAL HOLBROOK?!"  Nice to see him working!

That was about the best part of the show this week.  Him stating time of death for his wife was just... UGH, right in the feels.

The rest... meh.  As someone who binge-watched the whole series until current, I have found the show to be less engaging when you're not watching 2-3 episodes a day for weeks...
