  1. But I loved Emily in that scene in the flashback of Dear Richard and Emily, with the

Haydens. Francine suggest sending Lorelai way remarking that aren't their places who take

girls like that? Emily immediately asks girls like what? Francine cries that Christopher is

just a baby, Emily points out that Lorelai is hardly collecting social security. Staub suggests

getting rid of the baby and Emily refuses. She does a pretty good job of defending her daughter.

I thought it was pretty clear that the Haydens blamed Lorelai for the whole thing, I mean aside

from those remarks they also wonder why Christopher's future should be ruined. But Emily was

awesome not only did she not agree she even states that Christopher was as much to blame

as was Lorelai and defends her daughter against every remark the Haydens make. There's also

a point where she tells Staub to chose his words carefully. Emily was kind of awesome

    in that scene.

I really liked that scene too. Only time you see Emily really defending Lorelai and it was great to see. :)

  2. I did like in Concert Interruptus that it looked like Rory was bonding more with Madeline and Louise but then ended up becoming friends with Paris instead. Loved Paris' smirk when Lorelai was reading the girls the riot act!

  3. I forgot to mention The Incredible Sinking Lorelais. Lorelai breaking down on Luke was a stand out moment for me and him just letting her vent and comforting her at the same time! It nearly made me cry the first time I watched it.

  4. I really enjoyed season 4. Luke and Lorelai's friendship was growing. The one when Lorelai invites Luke round for a movie night was one of my faves and when Rory rang from the bad date, it was like she was ringing her parents for advice! :D Also enjoyed the spring break episode. It was great seeing Paris and Rory have some fun. :) And then obviously the last two eps! Sorry I'm a massive Luke/Lorelai fan! :p

  5. One thing I'd like them to explain to us is why Michel has such animosity for Luke. I can't recall that he ever had a civilized word for him, but don't know where it came from. It was there AFAIK before LL relationship, so it's not likely to be jealousy.

Maybe Michel has a secret wish to dress in flannel?

He's pretty much like that with everyone though so I think it's just him.

  6. Oh come on, be realistic. He would have had to pay for one year of Yale, and only that, to even be considered for that last ticket (Lorelai, Emily and Richard as 3 of the 4 tickets for sure).

I mean all he ever did for Rory was give her b-day presents, free food, kept her house from falling down, build her bookshelves, came to her HS graduation, let her study in his diner taking up the tables, made her mash potatoes when she was sick, made sure she could come to him no matter what his relationship with Lorelai. No way. He's disqualified for that last ticket. He never did anything as gracious as pay for her education, for one year anyway.

Chris only paid for her education because he suddenly got loaded. He'd never offered before. I just feel like Luke should have been there. Chris didn't even bother showing up for her Chilton one.

  7. Hey, I've been reading some fanfictions based around Luke and Rory's relationship and I thought I'd make a thread about it.

I think everyone wishes they had a Luke in their life. I loved seeing how much he was there for Rory and you know he was there for her not just because he liked Lorelai but because he genuinely cared about her. I kind of wished they'd shown more of their relationship even after Lorelai and Luke broke up but they seemed to just forget about it. Rory went into the diner like twice but apart from that there was no interaction. Luke so should have been at Rory's Yale graduation as well.

So what do you think? :)

  8. Have to say Rory's birthday parties and Forgiveness and Stuff have to be two of my fave episodes of the whole series. I loved how in Rory's birthday ep, we saw the first of how Luke was with Rory especially when he made her a coffee cake and blew up balloons for her in the diner. Also him going to her birthday party although he hates parties! And Lorelai and Luke's hug!! :D And then in Forgiveness and Stuff, just Luke dropping everything to be there for Lorelai and take her to the hospital was so sweet. Their flirting and then when Lorelai eventually broke down. Even enjoyed the little Emily/Luke talk! And then the birth of the blue baseball cap. :) Amazing episode. Have to say the Emily/Richard scenes had me tearing up as well.

  9. The standout episode for me in this season has to be Dead Uncles and Vegetables. Everyone was saying how Luke would drop everything to help Lorelai and Rory that it was nice to see them repay the favour. It showed that their close friendship was genuine. And then the whole town showing up at the end just to support Luke was so sweet. :)

  10. I thought season 1 was really good. There was a lot of Luke/Lorelai chemistry in it. :) Tbh I didn't mind Max but I think I wanted Luke and Lorelai to be together so much that it sort of tinted my view on him. :p That look Luke had when he saw Lorelai and Max in the snow kissing in Love and War and Snow was so heartbreaking! :(

  11. It's a very small scene but I think it says a lot. In the first episode of season 7, when Rory walks over to the crowd waiting for Kirk to drive the car. That little look over at Luke's and how Luke looks up at her and Rory waves to him and he waves back. I could just see the sadness in both of them. I sort of wished that they kept up Rory/Luke's relationship. She went in like a couple of times after that but it was like their relationship was just forgotten. Luke so should have gone to Rory's Yale graduation. He deserved to be.

  12. Hey everyone! Just signed up to this forum but saw this one about fanfiction and since I'm on it constantly, I thought I'd share my thoughts too! By the way, thanks for the shout out to my stories before. :)

I'd really recommend Brother, Brother by niazn. It's about Luke taking in Jess who is 15 and his brother Jason who's 17. It's really good seeing Luke adapt to having two teenagers and also seeing Jason and Jess gradually warm to Luke.
