  1. I don't think Amar nor Charlie Palmer came off well in the drama. I wouldn't think it fair to say that just because the other party finally regrets what happened in the past, that you would have to forgive so quickly. It's probably the first time they're meeting and they still needs time to flesh things out. Based on the snide comment Palmer made about "no one being too good to do something (wash dishes?)", and Amar admitting that he said things he regretted that led to the fallout when he left Charlie Palmer's restaurant, I'm pretty sure that Amar had said something along those lines before. And with how he said that he used to be just like Manbun, I can see why that could've pissed off a mentor. It's good that Amar is willing to work towards reconciliation *now*, but the other party likely needs time as well. I think Charlie Palmer isn't so much stiff and boring, as serious and egotistical. The ego thing isn't specific to him though, plenty of chefs are - and it seems the source of their fallout was his and Amar's ego clashing.
  2. I liked Jeremy, I thought he slumped in the middle, but managed to do well enough over the course of the competition that he deserved the win. - Or rather, didn't not deserve the win. I'm pretty sure that the contestants are the ones to name their "mentors" when they signed up for the show, - or answered a bunch of questions so the top chef wizards would write their bios. So Amar's awkwardness with Charlie Palmer would be due to him naming Charllie Palmer as his mentor, to be fair to Amar, he probably did it because Charlie's a bigger name chef. I'd rather Isaac have won, but my next 2 favourites were Jason and Jeremy.
  3. It was Mike Voltaggio, who had to make enough for 150 people (and a vegetarian dish), but he had 5 hours (vs 40 in 3 hours). His tourchon was great, it was his raw egg in the vegetarian dish that was the issue. I've never made it before in my life, nor do I know how to make it, but I find it strange that here they kept talking about how it's a challenge for Carl, but it seemed no one was impressed by MVolt making it. And didn't Jen Carroll also say something about second place being the first loser? It seems strange that some people would knock Jeremy for it while she was very well liked in her first season. It just seems like a "reality show line" to me. Them magic editing elves.
