I don't know this for certain, but I'm assuming that the benefits Janine was already receiving would have been approved by the teachers' union contract. As district employees, I doubt those folks receive the same benefits.

That cold open was hilarious. And it made me think of something I read post-Emmys when the Abbott cast and crew showed up the next day to film and someone supposedly yelled, "The Bear is not a comedy!"

Someone was definitely chopping onions when Janine was reading Ms. Barbara's card. And the kids! Man, I've become such a softie in my old age.

I absolutely cackled when Manny pulled out the "district chain" they had bought for Janine. Honey, no one wants that ugly thing. Take it back ASAP.

No union in my state but non-school based employees receive the same as school based employees. We all work for the district. It confused me greatly. The only difference would be is if they were contract employees such as long term sub or a supply. There was no change in my benefits when I went from a school based to district based.

Despite that, I enjoyed the episode.

This is a much better episode than the other twos. The story has heart, Kira is a sympathetic character and there’s a twist re the actual killer.

After 3 episodes, I find the side characters (Velma, Teddi, Bobby and Reenie) are way more interesting than Colter. The lack of team communication is still a turn off for me.

Reenie the horny traveling attorney! Logic be damned. 🙄 She says Colter’s ability to gather much info in a short period of time is impressive. Err girl, the credit should be given to Bobby, mostly. Colter is the muscle.

I thought Colter is stabbed in his (right) front abs but then the wound is on his (right) upper back. Weird. Anyway, what a good reason to take off his shirt again huh. 🤣

I don’t think Russell killed their dad. He could be reaching out to Colter now just to tell him their mother did. Just a theory.

Yep, I've thought from the first episode that Mom killed his Dad.

Totally agree on the brain operation.  To show Park doing it all while being assisted by a resident is ridiculous. There would have been multiple disciplines needed to be involved; particularly an oral maxillofacial surgeon, but hey, who knows, maybe Park is an expert at everything. 😃

I agree that Charlie's verbal interactions with the patient and his daughter were inappropriate, but I think there's a lot more to it than learning to control herself.  She is pretty new to interacting with patients.  Everything is new & different.  Many autistic people don't do well in this situation.  She is probably very nervous.  When autistic people are nervous or upset they tend to "stim".  It is a way of trying to deal with what they're feeling & to comfort themselves.  We saw it when she kept grabbing her earring.  It's entirely possible the verbosity is also a stim.   Hopefully, like Shawn, she'll be given time to adjust and possibly, once she feels more comfortable, the stimming will lessen.  Shawn is still inappropriate at times, but with the guidance of those around him, he has become much more adept at handling personal interactions; although, I was quite surprised he was so abrupt with telling lung transplant guy his diagnosis.  He's been shown handling similar situations in a much better way.

In a way, it was kind of funny to see Shawn irritated by Charlie's behaviour.  His behaviour has irritated his colleagues many times and you would think he could recognize himself in some of Charlie's behaviour and cut her some slack.  I guess the "you can't see the forest for the trees" comes into play.....

I agree that it is very likely a stim. My youngest daughter is autistic and she is absolutely a vocal stimmer. She's still young so it's often noises but I can see where it could turn to endless chatter as she gets older.

Also, autism in girls is VERY different than boys. There is just hardly any research on it in girls.

  4. It's worth noting that Morris is the first African American head coach of the Falcons.

I don't think any owners are willing to give Belicheck complete autonomy over personnel.

  5. I find the timing of the announcement odd. I figured next season would be his last.

Wonder if any NFL teams will go after him.

  6. I have no doubt he did it. There wasn't enough evidence because the majority of the evidence wasn't even allowed.

I don't believe for one second that a man as paranoid as Mike forgot to turn the recorder on

I hope one day they find her body or some evidence and are able to retry him.

I keep my mouth shut during the regular series and into the playoffs because I'm some kind of jinx, but LFG Rangers! I'm in Dallas and I can hear celebrating all over my neighborhood, even in the rain.

Yessss. I grew up in Texas and even with that lead, I refused to celebrate unti that final out. I couldn't quite believe it! So excited.

  8. The Clearing: while I agree the police had little evidence, I'm pretty sure he did it.

It's odd he reported her missing but didn't drive around looking for her. He was over the top as he kept saying she was perfect. I also just couldn't get past the fact that she would use an USB cord to hang herself. His weird response and crazy eyes when he was asked if he did it unsettled me.

His lawyer used the fact that he led them to the area as proof of innocence but I actually think that could easily point to guilt. He's arrogant and wanted to put on a show if they found her.

All that being said, I'm not surprised they found him not guilty but it wouldn't surprise me if he did do it.

    10-5 episode, "The Note:"

This presentation felt lacking.  I've not heard of the case prior to tonight's episode so it's all I have for information on the case. I felt like it left me with more questions. Such as...

If she was strangled/suffocated, where did all the blood in his trunk come from? (I'm not doubting he did it, but that angle seems unexplained. I'm not buying his menstrual blood excuse either.)

Since they brought up Kendra the girlfriend and that she was his alibi that night, how did they clear her of involvement?  Much was made of her in the beginning and then she was like a dropped plot point.  Seems like she would have gained from Megan being out of the picture.

I agree. I felt like they were leading up to them killing her together. I needed a lot more information.

Looks like a new season started. Case was the Family Feud murder. Dude was not a very good actor when he sat down with Erin Moriarty, and his lawyer was very unlikeable!

I wanted to reach through my screen and punch her in the face. She was so unlikable and her facial expressions were so exaggerated.

That lawyer was something else.   I was wondering if she had any explanation for the gun evidence.

Her explanation was that's their expert's opinion. Erin asked her why she didn't call her own expert to refute to it then. Lawyer was all "I could have" with some pursed lips.

  11. I pretty much agree with everyone here. I wanted Ryann to say no and for a minute I thought Trey wasn't going to ask Riah to marry him. I don't think Trey and Riah will last.

I don't think Roxanne respects Antonio either. I think he might have actually worked but she feels like you have to be an entrepreneur to be ambitious. She is awful and she will never marry him.

I mean Kat is a nurse and I don't see how you consider that not financially stable.

There absolutely should have been more than 6 couples!

Lisa is also awful and remains awful. I also questioned her pregnancy and part of me thinks she knew before they got there.

Re the Alabama case - it's looking more like it was a hoax.  Apparently the victim had done some very recent searches on "Amber Alert" and the movie "Taken".  The police also had surveillance video of the highway where her car was found and there were no other vehicles seen.   I guess there will be more updates.

Definitely a hoax! She also stopped at Target to buy snacks, robe and toilet paper. Now the real question is where did she stay for those 2 days? Is your boyfriend in on it? Her family is in complete denial.

It was Alabama where it happened, and the woman just showed up at her parents' home right after her story was shown on TV.     Sadly, from the camera footage along the interstate, there is no way her story is factual.     I'm betting it will be another Tawana Brawley or Sherri Pepini case.

It is a bizarre story and I don't understand her motive? My understanding is that she walked home after being dropped off close. I find that even more suspicious though!

I could quote Stonehaven above on just about everything they said.    Does CBS feel that the only shows people want to watch on Sunday night contain plenty of blood and gore and machine guns blazing?  Seems they take off everything that doesn't contain that (East Night York, previous season's God Friended Me, and I could go even further back).

Last night's episode was disgusting - yeah "torture porn" says it all.   When you find the Dee/Aunt Vi storyline more compelling and more of what some of us thought this show was supposed to be about, rather than the main plot, that says it all.

If the show continues with this awful CIA/Ultra Violent crap after the comeback episode next season, I'm out.

I'm still angry that God Friended Me was cancelled. I also like East New York a lot.

I agree that this episode had way too much violence.

  15. I don't buy that either parent would have needed to sign custody over. They easily could have gotten custody.

Also, since Billy pled guilty, why was there a sentencing? Shouldn't he have just struck a plea deal?

Too bad they don't revamp the show and focus on the Nicolettis and relaunch it under a new name (something connected to grifting).  Emma left the CIA and went out on her own, so they don't even have to figure out how to writer her out-she's just out.  And I don't think anyone will miss the rest of her family.  Keep the grifters grifting and build around them-new show, better show!

This would have been a much better show. All this show did was make me miss Leverage. I didn't even watch the last episode. It's been on my DVR but I realized I was dreading watching it

  17. I find it easy to believe Freddy was convicted. Just recently, there was a case where a man who had an alibi was convicted and spent 25 years in prison based on eyewitness testimony only. Literally that was the only evidence there was and for YEARS all appeals were denied even though there was no way he could have done it. Even though, eyewitness had recanted and the actual murderer confessed. I mean look at the central park 8. There's literally thousands of cases where the police zero in on the suspect and make it fit. People are wrongly convicted all the time on circumstantial evidence.
