I tried to comment on that article but the comments wouldn't post.

I think many realize the potential of the show and the retractions were insufficient to kill that potential.
What do you mean "retractions"? Are you referring to Bloodlines or WS?

Now with her background, I could understand if she specialized in hunting bad angels, like sort of like Lily Sunder, but to the whole wanting to be a hunter thing never made sense to me with respect to Claire.
Maybe because she wants to be FIERCE!
(I am so tired of that word being used as a compliment or aspiration.)

I thought he only tore out one page.
I watched the episode last night. Sam said John tore out "pages". As far as it being a ring binder, I've been known to tear pages out, especially if the binder is full and it would be a PITA to open & close. Of course I'm like the opposite of OCD.

Showrunners become enamored of actors and write a part for them.
That was going to be my cynical suggestion! I thought Sleepy Hollow had useless characters from the beginning - like Ichabod's witch/wife.

Rewatching season 13. I’ve got to say i can’t stand evil Levon Helm (Asmodeus.). Can’t wait for Dean to stab him. Really miss Crowley.
Evil Levon Helm!! Now if Asmodeus could sing & play drums he’d be entertaining!
I pulled into Nazareth, was feeling bout half past dead......

Since theyre meant to be the heroes of this show then I want to see them be heroic! I don’t want to see them grossly violating each other or condemning thousands to death out of a selfish need to save one man who happens to be important to them.
Yes! They certainly don't need to be perfect to be heroic. Flawed characters are compelling, disagreements are interesting. Please just no more paralyzing codependency!

I used to be a big fan of the brotherly bond (although I’ve never shipped Winchester), but I’d say I’ve been watching the show since season 8 in spite of the brotherly bond.
I agree - and we don't have to agree if one's worse that the other. The almost constant conflict & dysfunction from s. 8 through s. 10 wore me out.

They have. But things can change. Jared says he doesn't want to act in a series again. Jensen doesn't say that. I think it's going to be harder for Jensen to leave the show than Jared because IMO Jensen loves playing Dean more than Jared loves playing Sam. And that's not a B v Jerk thing either. I think he wants to do other things. Jensen is a craftsman about his work in TV. I think he wants to stay working in TV. Jensen has said he would happily direct Wayward eps if that gets picked up. And I also think they both feel a responsibility to the crew. To make sure they have jobs.
@catrox14
Where did you get this? Sounds like a lot of wishful thinking.

I still CAN NOT believe that during 12.22 when Dean was in Mary's head that they didn't use Dean's Family theme. That is unbelievable to me.
A long time ago I referred to the music as "Dean's theme" and was told, no, no, it's the "Winchester theme." ??

Also like Bela a lot - she was a worthy opponent, yet still dimensional enough to be interesting. I like badass & manipulative Ruby & Meg (2.0) both. In fact, I don't think I've appreciated any of the villains as much since S. 7 Dick.

I also feel trying to compare shows like Supernatural and Criminal Minds is sort of an apples-and-oranges thing. I can laugh, feel scared, or cry with the former, but when the latter, which I see as real life scenarios, gets too gruesome, I have to stop watching. Give me all the demons or zombie gore you can throw at me, but when someone is tortured, dismembered, and buried in a shallow grave, I get majorly squicked (am I showing my age there?).
I completely agree about Criminal Minds. I really liked a few of the characters, but the gore quotient was just too high. And it seemed like it was often a pretty woman in danger. Supernatural is enough horror & gore for me - the only creature I can't take is zombies - must be the eating brains thing.

I'm not a hundred percent, but I'm guessing it might've been the power of opening the doorway reverberating outward.
ETA: Like a door being slammed open and somone on the other side being smashed between the wall and the door...uh, not sure that made it any clearer, sorry.
Thanks! I was thinking along those lines, but couldn't find the words this morning.

On a different note: I found the way they showed Kaia's scream 3 times interesting. I don't think she screamed 3 times. I think her scream shattered Jack's control in 3 different ways. Hence Kaia was transported away from any alternate universe (as she really didn't want to be there), Jack went where he wanted to go (as he had the most direct focus), and Sam and Dean got sent to where Kaia's thoughts kept going -- the Bad Place.
It wasn't clear to me what/who vaporized the angels. It happened when Kaia screamed, but I don't think she'd have the power by herself. Was it Jack through Kaia?

I still am just stunned at what a great new character Kaia is. And I don't think she was remotely propped up at the expense of Sam and Dean. I was completely engrossed in where Sam, Dean and Jack were at (mentally).
I think this is my favorite episode this season. The actor playing Kaia is wonderful IMO and has great chemistry with Alex, who I think is also wonderful. Both of them play really well with Sam & Dean, and Jared didn't come across as wallpaper.
I hope the dinosaur foot print story doesn't go anywhere, because that just killed the momentum created by the rest of the episode. IMO.

Amazon Prime does indeed have the Psych movie. It’s $4.99 for HD but is not up tonight. Presumably will be up tomorrow, that’s what they usually do with TV episodes.

Amazon Prime has the original Psych & other USA network shows, so maybe I can find it there. Or I'll check out Sling.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here’s the AVClub Random Roles article for Jim Beaver.

Thanks so much for posting this link. That was a great interview! I forget how many good things Jim Beaver has done - Deadwood, Justified, even Breaking Bad. Long may he live & act! And TPTB better give him something good during the last season!

She's "in negotiations" for the Pokemon movie, but it still looks like she's plenty busy with Little Women, Wayward Sisters, and two (2) movie roles!

I know Gold ticket holders get to see the Gold J2 panel and they get better seats. Are those the only additional perks of being Gold over silver?
I think Gold ticket holders are the only people who can get J&J autographs.

I don't blame writing here. It's the way the brothers are and Jensen's more able (it seems to me) to image inner suffering and torment.
Sam would not defend Dean against insults. But in a similar situation Dean's hackles would rise. It's their natures/.
Of course, I realize Sam/Jared fans will see things maybe a bit differently. LOL.
As a matter of fact, it is the writing which creates how Sam & Dean speak and act. LOL.
I would argue that the way it is written we hear and see much more of Dean's thoughts and emotions than Sam's. Because of that we're much more attuned to Dean's feelings. Dean's emotions toward Sam are complicated; he needs Sam, needs to feel like he is Sam's protector. IMO it's not simply an altruistic response, it's more like to Dean they are one person and he feels any attack on Sam is an attack on him.
We see much less what's going on inside Sam, so he seems more independent or withdrawn.
