Did it to me too, but then I went and watched that baking impossible or whatever it is, that has Andrew as a judge, and not only did it have captions, it was dubbed in Russian for some reason. I think Netflix is having a midlife crisis or something.

Yes!  It did that to me, too!

This is the first episode ever that Netflix automatically put captions on. Anyone else? I thought I had accidentally hit a button on my remote. It was distracting.

I thought that was just me!  I did have to turn them back on a couple of times because I could not understand what Lizzie was saying.

I watched the show for YEARS on Prime Video before discovering the music was substituted. Definitely explains a lot of things lol.

I don't think that Prime does that, though.  The show us sent out the way CMT edits it and the various streaming services don't have the ability to change it.  It's CMT that is making the crappy music choices.

Guys, when a contestant is suffering from food poisoning, I do not need to hear the phrase "Let it go, Let it flow!"

There were so many things they said during that run that could have been taken another way given the circumstances.  I felt a teeny bit guilty for laughing.

Winnie Harlow seems to be the only one who at least half way knows what she's talking about (but the make-up around her mouth is just stupid and boring).

Are you referring to her vitiligo?  That is just her skin.

Boy, Daniel Gil was really putting on the fakey fake during his interview, wasn’t he? Even worse than usual.

Overall, just not a great episode. And if next week is the last one - and we still have a number of stage 1 runners to go - that must mean a lot of people drop on stage 2. I have a feeling there’s no winner this year.

They said last week there would be 3 more episodes, so not done next week.

I hear you on the fake orange.  But maybe at least some color?  It looks a tad unhealthy to me in this photo.

Some people are just that white.  I often have to tell medical personnel I am not pale; that is just my natural skin tone.

I knew Olivia wasn’t long for the show when she expressed surprise in an earlier episode that she was getting critiqued and asserting that she’d never had negative feedback.   As long as feedback is constructive, that’s how we improve and grow.  Also, she is on a competitive reality show…did she think she’d be the first person in the history of competitive reality shows to be judged as just perfect the way she is and just handed the title and prizes…except the mentorship, of course, because she doesn’t need it

Having had two kids go to college for creative degrees (one in costume design/tech, the other in illustration), the assertion that she NEVER got negative feedback is laughable. I can GUARANTEE she got negative feedback; she just was not able to recognize it for what it was.

Funny how I have friends from England who have lived in Oklahoma for 25 years and still have their English accents and haven't picked up any form of southern accent. Funny how Angela and Jinelle didn't lose their Australian accents after living here for years. You have to want to lose your accent. And by the way, I grew up in Oklahoma, lived in California for years, Nashville, TN, and a small town in east Texas (for 20 years) and never picked up any of their accents. And the east Texas accent is a doozy. Maybe I didn't pick up the southern accent because I didn't grow up with it and didn't want it. On the other hand, we Americans love English and Australian accents, so we might try a little harder to "develop" that accent. I also had a roommate who grew up in a small town in Oklahoma and moved to New York for 6 months - came back with a fake accent and calling her purse and pocket book. As for her being in London for 10 years - how do you know? I've seen that she hadn't been performing for 10 years and that she had lived in London. That does not mean she was there for 10 years. She may have been working here for 9 years before moving to London. I also know her small town in Texas very well. I had to drive through it when I lived in east Texas when I went back and forth to Oklahoma. She's proud of moving to London, because most of the people I met while living in small towns in east Texas have never left their towns. Not even for vacations. I lived around people who thought they had been to the mountains because they had been to Arkansas and thought IHOP was the best restaurant on the planet because they left the coffee pot on the table (they also had to drive 50 miles one way to get to one). Imagine growing up in a town like that and dreaming of getting out. Of course when you come back, you want to show how much better you are - just like my roommate. Also interesting how Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne can live in the U.S. for DECADES and not lose their accents - I can keep going.

Some people are just accent sponges; it's not a conscious thing, it just happens.  I pick up accents all the time and I have NEVER consciously tried to do it. In fact,  I go out of my way to try to suppress it because I know that I am prone doing it.  I'm not going to judge someone for picking up an accent.

I don't see the front row of the girls in standard view, but I can if I go to the developer view. Firefox doesn't show the girls' cameos beneath the squad photo but Chrome does. And those cameos are not formatted correctly, they're all different sizes so some of the girls appear much smaller/bigger than the others on the row. Savannah in particular is tiny compared to the rest of her row. And what's with the rookies all being at the bottom and all the vets being ordered alphabetically? Either do it all by year or all alphabetical, but don't mix it up.

I'm using Chrome; maybe that's why it is working for me.

Is there any way to actually navigate to these pages from the website? Looking on the "Our Team" page I don't see any link to these bios.

Click on the cameos. They are below the team picture.

The biggest bit of cringe was Noel convincing contestants to kiss Mr. Spoon and the non-socially distant, non-masked finale crowd.  Did they forget the pandemic was still a thing?  The finale just turned into The Great British Superspreader.

That was the people they had been in the bubble with all along. They've been interacting for 7 weeks; I doubt any superspreading happened there.

I was wondering if it was really glass? at one point one of the bottles broke when it came off of Hung's (I think) head came in contact with her arm, it didn't seem to be with enough force to break a bottle.

I'm pretty sure they were sugar bottles.  One couple (Alanna and Leo, I think?) broke bottles over their heads when they were done.  I seriously doubt that they could get insurance for that task if the bottles were real glass.

LOL, yeah you're right the way I worded that.  I mean did anybody manage not to get dinged for their filling being too dry?

I thought I heard several people get that comment.  I can't tell you who without rewatching, but I remember thinking how ironinc that a steamed bun could be deemed dry.

  15. What the hell were Hawayak/Baker skating to in the Free Dance? You cannot convince me that is an actual arrangement of Heart of Glass; they were just playing two songs at the same time. It was so distracting I could now really pay attention to the skating.

Also, her costume looks like her partner was skating with bloody hands and smeared the blood all over her waist.

I actually saw a commercial for TAR!  I might be willing to believe they're really truly finally going to air it!

I checked my DVR yesterday and it showed up in the "upcoming recordings!"  Not long now!

I watched the first episode of this series on PBS last week (on Friday), episode 2 is this Sunday  In fact these days (at least on my local affiliate), if you miss it, it will be gone the next week unless you want to pay for their premium service.  This is true for other shows, such as Call the Midwife.  And I can't DVR.  And half the time, Comcast chooses to ignore my "Series Reminder" requests.  It's all very frustrating.  Grr.  Sorry, rant over.

IDK how; this series is exclusive to Netflix.  It airs Tuesday in the UK and is available for streaming on Netflix Friday in the US.  You must be watching one of the older seasons.
