If they felt Lily wasn't attractive, why'd they put her on the team in the first place?
Kitty called Tara unattractive too, and I remember thinking that that was cruel (and untrue). And we can't forget Chandler and her "grandma" face. I can understand them talking about a girl's weight on camera (maintaining a certain figure is part of the job), but I feel like talking about looks is out of bounds.

I’m giving her a pass, too. How many years did we have sit through Lacey’s lyrical, Amy’s tap dancing and Jinelle’s jiggly hoedown routines? Most of the girls turn in the same type of routine year after year. Maddie’s is obvious only because it’s hip hop and very few of the girls dance in that style.

Alora-Rose and Jacie are both in this.
Wonder if Jacie encouraged her to try out for DCC.

Yeah, if her bio is true, good for her! Not only is UCLA not cheap, but it's also not easy to get into. That is one of the best public universities in the country. While I've never liked her more risque pictures, she has never seemed dumb to me, so I would hope that she knows better than to flat out lie about going to college at a particular school.
I hope it all works out for her. I've gone through several beliefs about Kalyssa...I disliked her at first when she did all that shimmying at auditions, then I liked her in training camp and appreciated that she had a full time job. Then, I thought her first pictures were very cheap and amateur looking, but I appreciate that she really seemed to commit. If she is actually going to school and preparing for life after "modeling," then I have no issue giving her props for that.
I have always wondered if she was telling the truth about being valedictorian at her school. Her website was riddled with basic spelling errors (not sure if that’s still the case but I can’t be bothered to check). I can see the UCLA thing being untrue, too. Hope it’s not, but I do wonder.

Someone upthread suggested a 2 to 3 week training camp with all cuts reserved for the last day. That’s an idea I can get behind.

Anyone know what Malena is doing now?

IF you had to cut one veteran based solely on everything BUT dancing ability (looks, personality, how they "pop" in front of an audience) I would cut one of the following: Tess, Amber, Madeline (not Maddie) or Alanna. To me they are practically interchangeable in looks. And as far as personality/pop, none put out any more or less than the others.
I don't know what it is about some of the brunettes that are currently on the team, but I find most of them incredibly boring to watch. Just my opinion of course, and remember that I didn't base my opinions on their dancing ability.

Ok this might be a controversial opinion, but maybe this is the caliber of girls they always get? Like we never get to see full auditions/routines and when we do I know I'm always slightly disappointed. The show is highly edited, and maybe most of the team is just ok, but the editing makes it seem like they are much better than they are. We've also seen some fairly mediocre girls make the team and stay on it so their standards can't be that much higher. Maybe these were actually the best auditions they got, and maybe they're just as good as the rest of the DCC (although some girls on the team are certainly better)
Also, there is only one TCC younger than 20. A few of the TCC are still in college (and Marissa is just out of High school), but the majority have completed college and some have been to grad school. They do not seem to be much younger than the majority of the team/people trying out in the past. Here is a list of the ages of the TCC:
Alora-Rose: 24
Amelia: 20
Annabelle: 22
Armani: 22
Ashlinn: 21
Cassie: 24
Claire 😧 22
Claire W: 21
Dani: 22
Darian: 24
Elli: 23
Jada: 20
Jaycie: 22
Jessica: 22
Kelly: 20
Marissa: 18
McKenzie: 24
Shannan: 22
Sheridan: 26
Sydney: 27
Tori: 25
I agree with you on the caliber of girls. These are prelim videos — even if auditions had been held in person, they all would have made it through prelims because they’re pretty enough, in shape and show musicality. We’re judging them like they’re auditioning for finals.

According to the making the team fandom site, despite 4 years on the squad - she had no confessionals and no office visits. I am surprised they thought to bring her back to teach the routine at auditions.
https://making-the-team.fandom.com/wiki/Kinzie_Ryanne
That site also says she was the lowest scoring returning veteran one year! 😧
”If you pause, you can see a list of the scores she received at auditions: she was ranked #26 (making her the lowest scoring returning veteran), receiving 12 yeses and 4 maybes”

It’s a team, they’re supposed to blend in. We just need two different words to describe them -there are blenders like Rachel who is powerful and clearly strong enough to be SG so she keeps up good without being center of attention. Then there are “blenders” like Savvanah who is struggling with the choreo and will never be front and center because of that. No hate, we need different types in the team but yeah.
Man, I don't even consider Savannah a blender. She's just so bad to me. I wish that wasn't the case. I actually really like her.

They really need to stop bringing on CMT artist that know nothing about dance. It's a waste of time. I think they also need to stop brining in choreographers that don't teach the DCC style, it's also wasting the time of the TCC that need to pick up the style.
23 hours ago, scorpio1031 said:Exactly!!! Save some of that for Technique Tuesdays when the season is over. If they only have so many weeks before the first game, they should stick to stuff that will help the girls with the routines they are learning.
And of course, the whole sticker thing is just a waste of time anyway. Meredith got three stickers, but still made the squad. Lisa got 7 and none were from group leaders. I realize that it's all for drama and the show, which means less time spent on things that would really help the girls.
I actually like the guest choreographers and I LOVE the stickers. I would be bored to death watching the girls practice the same six dances with the same three moves. At least I get to see which girls excel in which styles.
As for the stickers, I like knowing who everyone else, especially the group leaders, wants on the team vs. what Kelli wants. We would have never known unquestionably about Lisa’s lack of support from the GLs were it not for those stickers. Team stickers!

This is how Victoria should style her hair, she looks really good here
She does, though it's ridiculous that they all have the exact same hairstyle. Oh wait -- except for Molly. She went for a center part. What a rebel.

Why would it put her in the doghouse? Nothing she says was untrue. The question should be why have Judy and Kelli been able to get away with not being inclusive for so long?
Doesn’t matter if it’s true — we all know Kelli is vindictive.

Just saw this article. Thought it was interesting as we have been talking about natural hairstyles. Jacie Scott is quoted. https://www.allure.com/story/nfl-black-cheerleaders-hair-discrimination
Good article. Jacie was heavily featured. I wonder if this will put her in the doghouse with Kelli and Co.

I still think Jenna was robbed. She should have had point well before her 6th season.
Jenna should have been point over Jenn A. Still don't know what they see in Jenn. I find her dancing stilted and boring. Though I'm sure she was a good (tough) leader.

Y'all, there's no evidence that Maddie told Marshall anything. That's just speculation from the FB group based off the photo they took together. I'm not a big Maddie fan, but this is how rumors get started. Next everyone will be calling for head.

Yuko wouldn’t have been the perfect ambassador for trips to veterans’ homes or any place where she had to speak English fluently. She WOULD have been the perfect ambassador to speak to all those Japanese businessmen Jerry and Charlotte were trying to woo.

Wasn't Hailey a judge this year?🤔

I’m thinking Hannah either was late to an event one time, bombed her interview, gained weight, or got the Ann Lux treatment from Charlotte. Strong vets have been cut over this in the past. I’ll be watching the show just to see how she fared.

The speed at which Kelli and Judy just lost this team is actually astonishing. Vets are NOT happy. You don’t cut three of the most loved, most dedicated, and well rounded teammates for people you’ve known for 2 weeks and expect people to be ok with it. Especially those rookies who have noted character concerns (Marissa). And you don’t allow someone who has been sleeping with players to be swept under the rug. What a train wreck this organization has become.
So Marissa made the team? What are the character concerns?
I can only guess that Hannah got cut because of weight. I can't see her being outdanced.

My guesses for cuts (any of these three): Lily, Taylor, Cianna, Brennan or Briana. Not saying I’d like it, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I will say, whenever we hear about “surprising” cuts, once the show airs the cuts never look so surprising (Jasmine, Gabby) and often seem justified. Anyway, does that mean we’ll finally get the long-promised mass exodus or will this once again prove to be all talk?
Either way, this rookie class must be strong. From what I’ve seen, they definitely look it. And if virtual auditions bring in stronger, more diverse dancers, then I’m all for it.
ETA: There are very few veteran cuts that Kelli makes that I disagree with once the show airs. I always disagree with the cuts she DOESN’T make.

Soooo ... which of the TCCs will Kelli make a redhead? Or is there already one? I don’t think last year’s class had any either, so I bet Kelli is chomping at the bit to get another redhead.

Of course it would land on Victoria. Have there been a lot of proposals lately? Marissa, Alanna ... who else?
