They shot a scene explaining the postman scene, but it wound up having to be cut for time. It's included in the deleted scenes extras on the Blu Ray. I don't remember exactly what it was (I don't have a Blu Ray player) but the postman was angry at Danny for doing something minor - scratching his van or something? Btw it's an ITV show, nothing to do with the BBC.
