  1. I still don't like any of these people. I tried. The three girls that wiped their leg on a hot exhaust pipe? Yeah. You get a burn. Who doesn't know this at their age? And um, get a note to NOT work, in the ocean water? Dumb. That water will heal that burn better than Silverdene. Hush your mouths and bless your hearts. And wash your hair.

  2. from the same article: “She thinks a baby boy would make him happy,” said an insider. “Leah knows Jeremy would never leave her if she got pregnant again. He’s too much of a gentleman.”

Ahhh, of course. Any ole willy-nilly can have a daughter. It takes a "manly man" to breed a boy! Excuse me, let me correct myself, I mean a "gentleman".

Fix it, Jesus. Please. This girl needs all the help she can get.

  3. Thank you for the title, Lantern7. I just set my DVR. I don't watch much MTv these days but I haven't seen it advertised when I do. I'm watching tonight, though. I'll update if they promo it.

I would imagine her family went along with her age because that's her story to tell. Kind of like how my family went along with me being 27 for at least 10 years. It's harmless, in the big picture.

ETA: I didn't see any promo tonight.

  4.

I'm sad for Knight, and I'm sad that because of the timing (holiday weekend) this probably isn't going to get much attention.

That's probably a blessing for his family, though. I hope they can mourn his passing as quietly as possible. I say that after reading a few details and knowing what it's like to lose someone that way. I can't imagine what it feels like to have it blow up in public.

  5. Sorry about your stove, MargeGunderson. Isn't it spectacular when they spark into flames, though? My last oven did that, twice. My mom's boyfriend came out and replaced the heating element and told me most people can live 80 years without ever seeing that happen. It looks like welding is going on inside, it's amazing. The second time it happened he said, "Melinda, it's time for a new stove.".

  6. I don't know about molds for peanut butter balls/cups but I make mine with the basic peanut butter/butter/powdered sugar mix. I also add Rice Krispies, though. So good!

We are frying two turkeys this year, one Cajun and one just plain. Mashed potatoes (with cream, not milk), gravy (probably noodles too because we are from the Midwest), and two homemade pies-pumpkin and pecan. We are still debating on the other sides. I'm the only one who likes stuffing with gravy that has hard boils eggs in it. So that probably won't show up. Everyone got sick of green bean casserole but I think it should make an appearance again so..... Other than that, I have asparagus and brussel sprouts to roast but those will probably perk up our leftovers. Of course, Chex mix. Can't have any holiday without that!

I'm also making a seven layer salad. This will be our second Thanksgiving without my sister and that's what she brought for her last one with us. I think our salad must be weird to most people because I see recipes that look great but aren't "seven layer salad" to me.

  7. I have chronic leukemia, and my shitty insurance (United Healthcare) still pays $9,000 a month for my medication. There is no lifetime cap on cancer treatments as far as I know.

That's interesting info. I would have never guessed. Thank you for sharing and cyber hugs to you.

I know this is probably stupid and maybe a little selfish of me but, I couldn't sleep last night and was lying here thinking of Diem.

She was an active, in shape young woman who did nothing to get this disease.

I'm a smoker. The more I thought about it, it just didn't seem fair to me that I've been smoking for all of these years and I'm healthy but Diem has died through no fault of her own.

It actually made me feel guilty.

I got out of bed at 3 am, went outside, opened my packs of cigarettes and smashed every damn one. I'm done. I've now gone 12 hours without one. That's the longest I've gone without a cigarette in many many years. I went out this morning and got some patches and a few other things to help me along.

Its so stupid of me to do something I know can kill me when there are so many innocent people dying through no fault of their own.

    Thank you Diem.

Thank you for giving me one more reason to quit, too. It's not easy but maybe it will stick this time, for both of us. Hugs.

  8. I am amazed she can pronounce "girlses" but not Jeremy. Syllables are our friends. (for the record, I type out Germy too. Which is odd since I am married to a Jeremy. We don't call him that, but still.)
