  1. All the Duggar kids seem to me to be less mature than a lot of other kids their ages are. Even the ones that are in the role of caretakers for younger siblings nevertheless come off really immature to me in their speech and social presentation, even if they do a lot of work and are mature in that way. .... Maybe because he's a boy, Jackson had no responsibilities for the younger sisters, so he didn't get that maturing process. And of course, he couldn't be one of the "leader" males since there are too damn many other males ahead of him on the roster. As you say, he's lost. The mob is so big that there's no room for him to have a role, poor guy.

Somebody mentioned "boy band." Wouldn't surprise me if something like that isn't in Jim Bob's head. There have been Duggar videos of them fake-singing, you know.

The Duggar Christian Boy Band! No defrauding dancing, no back beat to the songs. Video by Duggar Studios.

I really hope so, that would be like a Christmas present to us.

  2. Meredith is a pretty baby. Too bad her birth was overshadowed by all the scandals.

Actually it is good symbolism. From M4 on, the Duggars go down.

Edited b/c it sounds meaner than I meant. I really mean to say, babies don't solve everything, Duggars! Don't keep having them in hopes that they will support you by their presence. The Duggars' ten years in the spotlight was a fluke,  Their life style is not sustainable, and is so damaging.

  3. One can only imagine who poor Jana might end up with.

Maybe Jim Boob should slow his roll a bit, but I'm sure he doesn't think he's responsible at all for the train wreck that is Smuggar and Anna. It's amazing to me that nobody in the Duggars' circle has the balls to tell them that they might want to approach things a bit differently from now on.

Ha ha the best the Duggars could do at the height of their popularity and fame-Dullard and Bin. Jana is better off alone than with whatever fundie barrel scrapings are available to her now.

Yep. That sounds about right under the GotHard type of thinking.

    Yecch.

I hope that Anna is not competing (in her head) with the whores.

  4. Here's one, a real episode I saw - Aunt Bee's cooking gets her noticed by a TV producer. She gets her own cooking show in the evenings, but is nervous about leaving Andy and Opie to fend for themselves. They lie and say they hired a housekeeper to clean the house and cook them dinner. Aunt Bee tapes her shows, but there's no housekeeper. Andy and Opie can't cook or clean well, and suffer, but lie to Aunt Bee about it. She eventually sees through their lies, gives up the show and comes home. Everyone is happy.

So what would Jim Bob's lesson be? Men should be able to care for themselves? No. Women shouldn't leave the house? Yes. Aunt Bee was wrong for catching someone's attention? Definitely. What to do differently - Have Jana be your housekeeper while you film your reality show. Problem Solved.

Or women should only be on tv if their headship is on, too.

  5. Oh, I had forgotten that one.  It sounds like it was one of the later color episodes which I suppose I saw originally (yeah, I am that old!) but the old episodes I catch now are almost always the older b&w ones.  My DIL thinks his criticism of the Andy Griffith show would be more appropriate for "I Love Lucy" with her zany plots. Not the part about seeking a solution in prayer, but the manipulation part.

I'm sure Lucy is too worldly for them. She actually tries to trick her headship because she wants to be more than a housewife.

  6. BrianJ62 is Catholic Strong, albeit a little lapsed.

I'm a LOT lapsed, but will not put up with the likes of the Duggars putting Catholics down. Still my tribe.

But it is little things like this, the anti Catholicism, the kissing pictures, which led to gay kissing pictures, which led to Josh 1.0.

These are the things ultimately bringing them down.

They really are selling that living in a foreign country doing ordinary things, except work, as a mission worthy of donations. There are people who live in the US who spend more time volunteering locally and have full time jobs to support themselves.

    They passed out tracts. LOL.

  7. It begs the question what Michelle does all day, because we know for certain now that it's not homeschooling.

And both filming and speaking engagements are down to a trickle.

It's also really sad that Tabitha is pretty much resigned to this being her fate in life. What happens in 10 years when they deem Josie educated and she's had a ceremony to lick her "diploma?" Do they just send her off to nanny Chad's kids, or maybe another sibling who will probably be more likely to produce a quiverfull than Erin?

I imagine this is also Jana's fate. She turns 26 in January, right? Anna was cooking her 4th kid at that age, and Mechelle was between the Jill and Jessa pregnancies on her 26th birthday, Damn, Sierra is putting them ALL to shame. I wonder how that one makes Jana and Tabitha (and other "older" single girls like them) feel? I really don't hold out much hope for Jana to find a decent guy anymore. As for JD, I guess he's actually considered "eligible" in their circles, but...eeeew. He may have some autonomy, but I don't think he'll ever be truly free of JB. He's best off single.

Maybe they plan on her marrying one of their unmarketable sons. Then they get to keep her.

Edited to say Josie licking her diploma is a good one!

  8. Saw the preview for the new episodes while watching Sister Wives Tell Nothing. I didn't know they dragged Anna out to get more nibbles! She is such a bad actor and shame on them all using her like that. How humiliating.

Jessa rubs me the wrong way always. She sticks that chin out and basically gives that smug smile like "FU all. I got back on camera. "

Ugh i can't with her anymore.

I have never watched the show, but Jessa's pictures make me gag. Those over done expressions, like a cartoon character!

  9. That's the way I remember it. Given how incredibly common that is (and most of the time women don't even know, because our morning routine doesn't include a pee stick) it seemed a bit dramatic to call it a miscarriage. But they got sympathy and free food and Anna got a martyr badge.

or she jumped to the conclusion she was pregnant, so she could get extra attention by pretending to lose it in a normal monthly flow.

    These people need another hobby.

  10. Except that all of the JW who have ever knocked on my door while passing out tracts in the neighborhoods where I've lived have been pleasant and nice while trying to talk to me about the tract. I believe part of getting new members also involves "love bombing" potential new members.

I'm not sure Jessa and especially Ben could put the fire and brimstone on hold for a bit, smile, and pleasantly share their religion even for five minutes at someone's front door. They would be awful at tracting for those reasons alone.

Jessa would be taking selfies at the door step,

  11. Sorry to have bothered you. I only posted here by the suggestion of my mom to see if anybody has had to deal with disability insurance companies.

People gave me suggestions and I'm acting on those. I won't post anymore about my crap. Thanks for confirming that here is not the place to ask for suggestions or advice.

Wellfleet I will look into that, thanks.

Bursla you got many supportive posts. Please don't be hurt!

Sometimes we get overwhelmed with our problems, it happens to me. I know sometimes I feel as if I just can't handle any more bad news, it doesn't mean I don't care. That's all that meant, someone just needs some cheer. Don't take it personally.

  12. Wow Spurgeon didn't like Christmas?  That's so weird.  Being that the Duggars are all about keeping Christ in Christmas and their Happy birthday Jesus Christmas card maybe they've never actually read Spurgeon's material?  How are Ben and Jessa going to celebrate Christmas after they named their baby after someone who feels Christians should abhor Christmas?

It wouldn't be the first time they exhibited contradictory behavior.

I guess Ben's interpretation would be that it was actually God on the cover of People, since God's the one who accomplishes everything? (and the Duggar-Seewalds are among those few select people smart enough to know it) (....Maybe it was actually the Trinity. Father, Son, and the Holy Selfie)

(I wonder why God actually bothered to create people if he still intended too be fully responsible for every good thing all by himself anyway. Seems like he must have created people just so he could watch them feel inferior and useless, on Ben's interpretation....)

People are chess pieces on the board of the game God is playing with Satan. Or something.

  13. There is a difference though - there is nothing sexy in Michelle's baby voice.  It's a child's voice, not that of a soft spoken woman in any way, but truly of a small child.

I thought Jackie Kennedy sounded more developmentally disabled than sexy. Not unlike Mechelle.

  14. I would like to see a very raw indie documentary following Josh around for awhile once he gets out of Jesus Jail. Just very honest and in his face. Some sort of on-the-road with Josh thing, preferably filmed in black and white. Raw.

I'd like to never see any of them pictured again. They are worse than the Kardashians.

  15. And the $500,000 is just a placeholder and wishful thinking, anyway, is it not? Under the circumstances, I have a hard time seeing a jury (or judge) awarding her that much when she agreed to have sex with the same guy again after this presumed traumatic event. ... I've been on some civil-trial juries with damages involved and the jury doesn't even know what the person is asking for. They decide on the awards entirely on their own. Is it different in Arkansas? I can't see her looking half-a-million worth of sympathetic to a jury, in this case.

Well, she'll explain that he was sorry the first time, so she and Jesus forgave him.

    Might fly in Arkansas.

  16. Hopefully those hate watchers will wait until it shows up on an ... shall we say ... alternative programming source before watching it.

I've never watched a single episode. The level of snark here, with all the other stuff floating around about these people, is plenty. No need to tune in, I know all about them!

    • Love 7
  17. I'm not being snarky, I am sincerely asking. What do you think the solution is then? Would the children be better off in foster care? Jim Bob and Michelle will never change their views.

I think that money matters when there are 25+ mouths to feed.

Money matters to us all. That doesn't mean we deserve a tv show. Most of us work.
