You're not going to believe this, but Ben Simmons is done for the year

Has there been any other player who peaked as someone with future All-NBA potential in their first year and then just went downhill like this?  There are plenty of guys who never seemed to care about basketball above all else (see Dwight Howard) but they were usually able to perform well for a while.

Maybe derrick rose.  Mvp year 3 never really like that again.

But still had some decent years and a long career.

Lebron got his 40000 it's March and lakers are mid so....probably time for lebron to shut himself down

Leaves with 4 minutes left with an 'ankle' injury no one witnessed.

Didn't we see the same thing a few seasons back that did the exact same thing without the cell phone? I was really getting a sense of de ja vu.

His subscription model has only generated 55,000 customers. He needs to go back to the drawing board (pun intended).

Yes we did exact same thing but without the phone. I thought the same thing.

None of those Filipino food products sounded appealing. If I had a chance ti try them maybe but otherwise no way I'm buying, what was it, banana ketchup?  No thanks.

  3. One I realized last night watching King of queens.

Two people join a book club./class

One loves it the other doesn't and never reads the book but lies about it. Until they are caught by not knowing a detail of tge book the other person tests them on

And it's always an 19th century English book like Jane eyre.

Friends and king of queens (later) did almost the same storyline on this. I'm sure others have too

At least on Friends they do the twist with Monica joining the class and being the know it all student phoebe regrets which is funny

  4. The bionic hand I thought was amazing but the shark people aren't going to offer anything to its growth.  It's about medical device sales it completely different than retail and what they know. Plus if they can't make more than 500 a year doesn't matter how great it is they aren't becoming a billion dollar company

The dog drooling was grossing me out. Plus I didn't get there strategy. You sell high priced goods wirh a great return vs cost so you can get people to buy a lower return product in an industry with a ton of competitors. Just sell the fancy treats.

I like the bug guy. Seemed smart and dedicated.  Mark basically I think bought him as an employee to make stuff for him  but still a good gig for him.

Was it his family or she he just didn’t like him anymore?

Either way I thought it was unfortunate from my perspective.  Younger people I think that stuff harder in general.  Like a coworkers son’s friend committed suicide after a break up similar to that. I don’t miss that stuff about being a teen anymore.

I thought it was pretty clear it was his family.

Bianca or the Spanish girl that was AJs girlfriend on The Sopranos.

I know AJ isn’t really the most sort of likeable character in the universe but I never liked her for breaking up with him.  With at least telling him why.

Ive been young and in love like AJ and ghosted.  And it sucks

I felt bad for AJ over the break up .  He really seemed to love her and put real effort into having a relationship with her son

But I can't blame her for breaking up with him. She found out about his family and decided to end it, for whatever reason. More than carm ever did.

  7. I never watch all star games. Pointless.

In other news lebron isn't sure he wants a 'farewell tour' because 'I've never been great at accepting praise'

The man who made a museum to himself and does this all the time is not great at accepting praise.

No one is as humble as lebron. He's the king of humility

    Stfu lebron.

  9. Lowest rated d

    25th the 2011 giants. 9th ranked offense

Next mannings first supetbowl win. 23rd ranked. 4th in offense.

Interestingly the giants 2007 team was probably worst combined. 14th offense and 17th D.

@JTMacc99 they always say defense wins championships so I have two questions which team had the lowest ranked defense and won a SB and which team had the lowest ranked offense and won a SB.  I'm curious if the team with the terrible offense had a great defense and vice versa.

I never would have guessed this but the 2008 steelers were 20th ranked offense. Lowest one. Defense was #1

Second worst Denver in 2015. 19th rated. 4th rated d

  11. From 2003 to 2019 pats had a top 10 d every year but two : 2005 and 2011.  They were 15th and 17th those years , so average.

We'll see.  It also helped Peyton & Tom that they had great leaders as head coach in Tony Dungy & Bill Belichick.  Patrick has Andy Reid, but who knows when he'll leave.

Fortunately Mahomes isn't like Lamar Jackson where the latter is screwed (rather his team) if he can't run.  The deep ball & smarts are there.  It depends on the other threats that Patrick's team has (coaching, defense, run game).  Finally as the prediction of completing another set of years worth a trip to Canton on its own is favorable

Manning went to 4 superbowls with 4 different coaches. And won division titles with 5 different coaches.

Dungy was only in indy like 6 or 7 years.

The Packers had the short run winning 5 of 7 from 1961-1967, and the Niners won 5 of 14 from 1981-1994 and just like Patriots, were a great team for most of that run.  But yeah, the Patriots with their 6 wins and the LONG period of being excellent stands out as the most impressive run by a team in the NFL.

However that run doesn't stand up the runs that the Yankees (twice) and the Canadiens made in their sports with regard to gathering championships. Having said that, neither of those sports had the competitive balance rules that the Patriots had to deal with, which does make their run more unlikely.

The Yankees won 7 of 9 championships from 1936-1943. Then they won 9 of 14 from 1949-1962.

The Montreal Canadiens had a few runs, but the big one was winning 10 of 15 from 1965-1979.

I'm sure there is a basketball one as well, but I don't care about the NBA.

Celtics won 11 in 13 years.

For me that SB was a let down.  I mean I'm glad Pittsburgh won but it felt more like Seattle lost. Pittsburgh didn't play their best and save for a few great plays (Willie Parker's 75 yd TD run and Antwann Randle El throwing a TD pass to Hines Ward) I thought the game was just average. But Super 53 three years later will forever remain my favorite SB ever.  I will still go and watch parts of that game on YouTube because it was just so damn good.

I'm not one to blame refs often but...

The refs handed superbowl xl to Pitt. Seattle was totally screwed over.

Has he always been this way, or has Jason’s wild man persona made Travis feel like he needs to do the same?

No he's always been that way.

I've said many times....she can do better. He's like a frat boy that never grew up because he never had to playing football

My bad! I didn’t know in the playoffs the rules changed. Is that because of the Bills/KC matchup?

This was the first ot game with this rule.

And why it's different than the regular season I have no idea. It makes no sense.

To make ir further confusing it was the rule in nfl Europe years and years ago when it still existed. Took 20 + odd years to use it in nfl America.

Travis Kelce needs to apologize to Coach Reid.  That was absurd behavior, Travis.  I don’t care about “heat of the game” — just NO.

One of the reasons I don't like kelce. Even though I do like mahommes and the rest of the team.

He's such a hot headed douche.  You can't do that to your coach don't care who you are

    Taylor can do better

If you score a TD first game is over. So of course you want the ball first.

No it's not. Not in playiff ot rules. Other team still gets a chance.

  19. Exciting game.  Longest superbowl in history.

Mahimmes completed the drive. Purdy couldn't do it.

And a missed extra point was critical.

  20. Pet food thing doesn't add up.  Had 16 million viewers and sold so little?  I could tell when the guy gave no specific numbers and kept going on about positive lauches and potential buyers they had no sales. and it's one product for him out of dozens he probably has not a focus

That song was awful and I agree the girl, like me, looked bored and wondered 'when will this be over!"   The AI idea is good not because of costs but time and also the chance for different genres of music. If you don't want easy listening yacht rock cheesiness AI can wrote something else. Plus you could do different versions and let the customer choose

    Mushroom bscon...

    Pass

Mixed drink lessons.....Pass.  they actually might be better as a franchise deal than trying to personally run many different individual companies in different cities which will become unmanageable at a certain critical value.
