  1. Chris Chibnall tweeted a picture of what he said were real phone message slips on Det. Carver's desk. They were from R. Tyler, D. Noble, and Martha Jones :D (Martha Jones' "message" was regarding Sally Sparrow.)

  2. I liked seeing Dalmar Albuzeid (I had to look that last name up) in this episode after starring in Belleville with Allan this past spring.

He also used to be a host on TVO Kids - may still be on in the afternoon, actually, but my kids and I only watch Gisele in the morning.

Looking forward to tonight's ep. My nine-year-old son and I watch it together - he watches it for the car chases, and I for the Hawco eye candy!

  3. This whole scene is so funny, I almost peed my pants. My question is, "Who wrote this? It couldn't have been the people we have currently employed." Peach, I strongly suspect you sent this script in anonymously, and they used it. Finally, something to laugh at - I could laugh at some of the Phyllis stuff, too, but honestly, I'm too scared.

You know something is seriously wrong when the least idiotic character in a scene is Cane (either the person or the object)! I did like his giving Devon shit in the hallway, and he's all, "But I LUVVVV her!" Bwa haha. How dumb.

Oh, and any time they mentioned Nurse Hathaway, I half expected Julianna Margulies to show up.

  4. I have always liked Blake more than Gillingham, and the latter certainly showed himself to be a jerk in this episode.

How old do you suppose the girls are meant to be, approximately? Despite JF's playing fast and loose with the timeline, I think Mary is about 30 or so, maybe 32, and Edith a year or two younger. Rose just "came out" in society, so that would make her late teens or early twenties, I guess.

  5. I didn't watch Breaking Bad at all, so I've no preconceived ideas about Anna Gunn. I like her so far. Also like Alisen Down (I think that's her last name), who plays the newspaper editor. I remember her from Mysterious Ways with Adrian Pasdar, about 10 years ago.

I'm enjoying the series. And yes, I did watch BC last year, but that's all I'll say about it!

  6. I really feel genuinely kind of terrible for Mrs. Drewe. She adopted that baby in good faith and now her husband is not listening to her and insisting that they can't give the child enough. Which, knowing the whole story, I feel bad for Edith, really. But I think Mrs. Drewe is getting the really bad end of that stick because nobody respects her enough to just tell her whats going on.

    I agree.

  7. Gillingham continues to rub me the wrong way. He's smarmy.

ITA with others who have wondered why Mary couldn't have purchased the item herself when she was in Liverpool.

I laughed out loud when Robert made his pronouncement about whatsisface not flirting with Isis :D

  8. Hey, guys!  Sorry I've been away from here this week.  I live in St Louis, and our local issues have been a little...distracting, to say the least. I don't live in the area where all the stuff has been going down, but it's affected our whole city.  The "drama" in Genoa City has been overshadowed by our actual drama.  I think our city has veered back from going off the rails now, at least I pray that that is so.

Time to check up on the doings of Wisconsin.

Peach, I can only speak for myself, but I've been riveted by what happened in Ferguson and the subsequent turmoil. I hope things are a little less fraught today. (And I live in Canada.)

  9. The judge in Nikki's trial is played by an actor who has been in many things. He was on Six Feet Under as the gay florist friend of Mama Fisher.

The actor's name is Joel Brooks

Something funny just happened - I was Googling a site called "Hey It's That Guy", and one of the results was a book that was written by Tara Ariano, a co-founder of TWOP and this here site!

At any rate, I remember Joel Brooks from a sitcom called "Teachers Only", that was on for a couple of seasons in the early eighties and starred the late Lynn Redgrave.
