I literally ran into Brandi at work. I walked past her and thought "that looks like that creep brandi from RH.    Oh wait, it is that creep." And then ran into here again and rode an elevator with her a few times.  She looked like hell, wearing sweat pants, loose expensive t-shirt, she just looked greasy and dirty.

Was she being deposed, being tested for disease, or attending court?

  2. This was literally an episode of filler with a tantalizing teaser tacked on.

Kyle looks off. I feel like I’ve seen these women walk the runway in the same clothes about 5 times now. The trip to the “go-go” club was a failed attempt at getting someone to call Erika a whore.

They should’ve just named it “Cindy Crawford Tequila”.

No, she was faking that whole thing to recruit Aaron Paul.

I thought she only gave a shit about Aaron Paul because of how he gave her first aid. She starts limping around the time she offs Glasgow smile guy, and Glasgow smile guy’s robot replacement mentions that she’s hurt “badly”, and I don’t think she (or that stupid superbrain) could’ve predicted that Caleb was coming back. He’s basically a designated unreliable flake. She never sees or meets Caleb until she’s in that tunnel. The bad guys initially rico app him to gig courier something to them, which I forget what is at this moment. It takes an angsty walk talking to the recordings of his dead comrade for Caleb to return to MacArthur Park.

In this episode Dolores again walks off a machine gun magzine's worth of bullets to the chest. Yet again begging the question why Maeve got dead by one little sword stab to the gut.

Dolores wasn't the terminator a few of episodes ago, she took a couple of bullets to the chest, received an actual blood transfusion (!), and it worked (!!). I always assumed the red blood was just for show, and that “mortally wounded” robots were just programmed to play dead until the maintenance crew could reset them.

  5. You’d think the supercomputer would’ve rebalanced society to have less class tension and inequality, but it’s heightened it, which is obviously bad for stability and predictability.

We do our best to sedate appropriately.  I will say that these patients as a whole have been more difficult to sedate than normal.  There is a risk of a national shortage of sedatives so we are being creative with what we are using.  Ever heard of the street drug "special K"? Now a pretty common sedative in our ICU called ketamine.  The drug that killed Michael Jackson?  Propofol - actually one of my favorite sedatives because it is quick on and quick off.  Fentanyl - killer of many but a terrific pain reliever in the ICU setting.

With any ventilator patient, it is important to have them wake up occasionally to ensure that they have not had a stroke or other neurologic change.   Also, we have to keep patients more awake when we are weaning the ventilator so patients are doing all the breathing and we know they are ready to take the breathing tube out.

@doodlebug A patient on a ventilator is sedated to the level that that he or she is not able to attempt to breathe, correct? So heavily sedated. The cerebellum, responsible for breathing, the most basic part of the brain, is sedated?

Anybody have any thoughts on why the Serac brothers named their various iterations of the machine after Jewish kings?

Because the writers think it sounds cool.

  8. So WestWorld is basically a spin-off of it’s own self. It was about theme park androids becoming self aware. Now it’s all about a Google-Facebook data mining supercomputer that predicts the future and also controls everyone’s lives.

Brought to you by the Singapore Tourism Board.

  9. What’s with the audio files Charlotte listened to? Where did they come from, how did she make the leap to play snippets?

How could it not be public knowledge that Charlotte has a son. Real billionaires also have security for their kids, and if they’re particularly busy or just because they can, nannies too.

Are we supposed to believe that everyone consults this supercomputer for everything? “Hey supercomputer, should I marry Caleb?”

It’s stated that privacy laws were enacted specifically against the supercomputer, so people were suspicious, but it’s implied supercomputer still knows all and everyone seems okay with the the fact that it’s still obviously vacuuming up every little bit of data that exists.

I’m not surprised that Dolores can instantly lease apartments and hotel rooms. There’s barely anyone anywhere ever.

There’s some wonky photoshopping in the shots of the city.

    Thoughts on those two pics:

    1. At first glance, it looked like "Si's" shirt either had marijuana leaves or a hand giving the middle finger.

    2. "Si" is getting very bottom heavy, he is definitely a pear shape.

He’s growing some man boobs. Oops people already mentioned it. Interesting nip situation.

  11. All of the curtains etc aren’t heavy enough, there’s way too much light coming through them. Everything else is blah. If they changed the shower to a stall shower, they could have fit in a bathroom vanity, but they didn’t, so the guest bathroom remains gross. Room for another pair of washer and dryers? Why?

COVID is a corona virus which tends not to have a latent form like the herpes viruses such as the ones that cause chicken pox or cold sores or genital herpes.  It is unlikely it would live in the body for years and recur.

In general, COVID 19 is more similar to the viruses that cause colds and flu and we should be able to mount an immune response to it which should prevent recurrence.  We don't know for sure though, because it hasn't been around long enough to tell.

We don't know what will happen with COVID; this virus has shown itself to be very rapidly spread and also to have mutated several times since its discovery.  So, even for people who got COVID 19, the virus might mutate just like the flu and cold viruses do and we could end up with COVID 20 or 25 and people who had COVID 19 might not have immunity to it.  That's why we need a flu shot every year; because different strains develop and become dominant each year.  That's also why the flu shot doesn't always protect completely; when the vaccine is developed, it is with scientists taking an educated guess as to which viral forms are going to be prevalent in a given season and making up a vaccine for those.  There are inevitably times when other viruses turn up and become the more common unexpectedly.

So this thing could go on forever?

Yep, there's nowhere online where you can get it shipped before the middle of May and, at least here in Cleveland, all of the stores that usually carry it don't have any and don't know when they will get it.

For those looking for a substitute for elastic or ties, you can try making some T shirt yarn from an old T shirt.  It's stretchy and washes well.

    https://www.ehow.com/13722948/how-to-make-t-shirt-yarn

Well it’s all a just-in-time world. Toyota invented it, but the particular just-in-time world we live is cheap and nasty one created by consultants with MBAs. There’s no elastic because there was no forecast for a drastic increase in demand, and so the consultants eliminated spare capacity and they also fired all the in house workers who had the legacy and technical knowledge. ”elastacon” can’t produce more, and they couldn’t if they tried.

I think the boys are running marathons to seem fit, attractive, athletic, etc. to young women, potential brides, etc. None of the married guys ran this time. A lot of young men would have sport accomplishments linked to school, but not our homefoolers. So they run to look good. Plus it's good excerise. Staying fit and working seem to be priorities for young people across almost all belief systems.

Now if only they’d make the jump from running to appear to be fit to running to actually be fit. Lose some of the pudge.
