The DJ doesn't smoke meth- she smokes DMT. It is explained early in the first episode in the discussion of Limbic Resonance (the episodes title). Smoking DMT is what causes her to connect so easily with the others during the episode's final scene. It's important because this chemical is what provides a non-mysical / non-magical element to the linked phenomenology that inspires the name of the show (sense8).
