There are a lot more brunettes than usual. Wonder if that was Joey’s request!? I hope so!

edited to add: Jess is giving me Victoria Larsen vibes. I think producers will keep her on, though I think Joey regrets kissing her. At least I hope so!

Joey actually addressed this in a podcast interview:

Did you get a load of BJ’s parents? The mother looked like a frigging Aussie Vanderbilt. Or maybe a Murdoch. And Mother cooed that she and hubby went on a three week “holiday” but kept up on BJ’s time in the house. How sweet. Something tells me their “holiday” wasn’t at Ayers Rock. Mother no doubt has the best dentist and on-call hair stylist in Australia, too. Anyway I assumed Jag and Matt clocked how prosperous they looked. Of course it would mean zilch in their decision to drag her into the F2 if either of them wins but still.

Suddenly it makes sense why Bowie doesn't care about the $750K (or know how to cook a basic meal for herself after 46 years).

  3. Popped on the feeds briefly tonight because I was wondering how everyone would eat without the Mamas left to feed them.

None of them know the basics of cooking and were totally clueless trying to make something as simple as chicken. They ended up cooking it with no seasoning and decided if it was done or not by poking at it to see if it was "bouncy" enough.

Matt of course had to get his jokes in about this being the exact reason they kept Mama Fe around as long as they did. I'm actually a little surprised he hasn't shit on Bowie yet for being THIS bad in the kitchen after all the digs he's made at America's cooking skills (which I've seen and happen to be miles better than Bowie's).

  4. Ugh. I hate Jag for even getting my hopes up.

Also haaaate Bowie Jane. I feel like if she pushed for Matt to go at all, Jag would probably go through with it. But she never actually plays to win and just told Jag it's not worth making the move "just for the money." 🙄🙄🙄

I don't like that Bowie lied about her age. There really was no reason.

She lies about her age for no reason in her real life too. In this article which came out when she was actually 35, she was pretending to be 27 lol.

I will say I cackle every time the other houseguests bring up the topic of her age. Felicia, in particular, is so funny:

Did he expect her to do his laundry?

Yes. Matt went on multiple rants last week about how he'd be happy to see America go since she won't even cook or clean for him.

He's disgusting and the fact that Reilly all of sudden has feelings for him in spite of seeing his misogyny on full display really goes to show what a desperate clout chaser she is.

I have the Pluto TV app on my TV but I don't see BB feeds anywhere. Is this a different Pluto? Do you have to watch on your computer or something? What am I missing?

The TV app definitely has them. Look on your guide and there should be a whole category called "Big Brother Live" right beneath the Reality genre.

E!, like Hallmark, has gotten into the romcom game.  And while I should probably talk about these in the TV movies forum, I know we've briefly mentioned some Hallmark and Netflix movies here.  So far, I've liked both I've seen.

But the main reason I came here is because tonight's movie, Maybe It's You, truly felt like the kind of movie that would have been released in a movie theater once upon a time.  The premise of it is basically like My Best Friend's Wedding if the Julia Roberts character weren't awful and the two best friends actually dated for a bit during a breakup.  Brett Dier, the male lead, had good chemistry with both of his love interests.  The whole supporting case was strong.  And the script had some legit clever dialogue and moved at a brisk pace.

      Reveal spoiler

And the ending felt right even if part of me wanted the two best friends to stay together, I think him being with his ex made sense.  And yet, it almost feels like it calls for a sequel because there's a little wistfulness in it as well.

Thanks for the recommendation! I loved Brett in Jane the Virgin and don't believe I've seen him in anything since. Will have to check this out.

  9. Apparently they filmed an alternate ending to this show, according to the actor who plays Devi's father. 👀

    Spoiler

“They [Devi and Ben] both go on with their lives after high school and become lawyers,” he explained. “[They] haven’t seen each other [or] been in touch in a long while. Then they come up against each other in a court case and meet for the first time. Ben turns around and says, ‘Hey David’. Devi smiles with surprise/delight and we’re left to imagine what happens in the future.”

No. Devi was wearing a sari. She had a waist chain to keep the part that was draped over her shoulder in place so it wouldn’t slip down/off her shoulder.

Kamala was wearing a lehenga. They come in different styles. Some have a long kurti and some have the short cholis /blouses that Kamala was wearing. And you can wear the dupatta in several ways as well.

Devi was wearing a half-sari, which is three pieces. Maitreyi has said it was very intentional that the show always put her in half-saris, since the show is portraying a Tamil family and it's very typical for teenage Tamil girls to wear half-saris to cultural events.

I think the Today show is under the news division of NBC.  Which isn't affected by the strike.   And the View is in the entertainment division similar to Jimmie Kimmel.

The mother of AJ Owens broke my heart.

The View is also part of ABC's news division and has been since 2014. I don't watch The Today Show, but I'm guessing if they still have writers it's because those writers aren't members of the WGA.

Yes I thought for sure Stuart and Wyoming Noah were gay . I was shocked when they said they were looking for a woman .

I kept thinking Stuart in particular was going to say that he was and then even one of his must haves on his list was that they must be pro- gay marriage . I mean , I’d want someone who’s pro gay marriage too but I don’t believe I’d think of that as something that I’m looking for and include it as one of the first things on my list . Was a little odd.

I loved that Stuart included pro-choice, anti-racist, and non-homophobic in his list of non-negotiables. I also wouldn't want to waste my time going on a date with someone who didn't share those same values.

  13. Hmmm. I watched the first episode and was kind of disappointed. This type of show is usually my jam, and I thought it would be really funny because I follow the creator, Shea Serrano's, work and he's a super funny guy, but the humor mostly fell flat for me. I know pilots can often be shaky though, so maybe I'll give it another episode or two before giving up on it completely.

Did anyone catch what Sara said at the end of the second segment (when she covered her mouth)??

I missed an entire conversation. What did Sarah say that had everyone reacting with a gasp?

She just let the word "shit" slip. "Do you know how young 60 is?! I know 60-year-olds! They run marathons! They DO shit!"
