I miss the days of the dcc Twitter accounts disappearing alerting us to who had been cut

These days were the best days!! Stalking all the Twitter accounts from like 8pm and running to this page to find out who got cut because their Twitter was taken down. I still remember the shock when Jasmine got cut going into her fourth year until we saw her audition air.

For those of us who don't want to sit and watch for an hour, can someone summarize this bit please?  Thanks.

They basically said that on the clue itself, there was a name and a zip code so they thought they had to find a specific envelope. They also said when Anthony left, he had a small box in his hand so that’s why they thought they needed something else. Penn also mentioned that the train was extremely slow, so he was hesitant to leave then have to come back on the slow train again. It wasn’t until the other teams showed up, grabbed the clue and got back into the train that they realized they were done.

As I’m watching this mainly because of Penn and Kim (though I used to watch this several years ago but got busy) I feel I need to defend them. First, there’s a clip on the CBS site where they are in the cab saying they knew it wasn’t really the queen. Second, they were both newscasters prior to making videos and Penn does video production for clients outside the silly videos they do. They both also had small parts in Iron Man 3, although I can only find Kim as she had an actual speaking part as a reporter, though it was brief. You would think Penn would be easy to spot considering he towers over everyone.

I forgot to mention that in their podcast they stated that they had decided to do the dart task but their cabbie talked them out of it. Because they weren’t intending to do the cake decorating they hadn’t read that clue carefully.

editing again to state that LuLu and Lala are not their given names though I can’t recall their actual names. I think one was Marissa.

Thank you!!! I love Kim and Penn from before the race and I am tired of people hating on them just because they are YouTubers. They rarely have their kids in their videos. I find their videos funny and pretty spot on. They’ve also written a book and are very open and honest about Penn’s ADHD and Kim’s anxiety. They’ve mentioned several times they are legit TAR super fans who have seen every episode. I would much rather watch them over a true family blogger who has their kids on camera every second of the day.

  4. What makes me mad about this season being “the youngest cast ever” is if you look at past seasons, the younger ones on the cast are always the first ones to go!! Once in a blue moon they’ve struck out with someone like Peggy or Meadow who is 10 and can bake really well, but looking back at past seasons only two 10 year olds have ever made the finals and neither of them won. Why have a whole season of primarily kids 10 and under when the stats show they just don’t do as well as kids 11-13!?

  5. I might watch a little too much DCC Making the Team. Last night my husband and I were watching Sister Act, and during the final performance where they sing for the Pope, my husband turns to me and says “Wasn’t the choir bigger earlier?”. And the first thing that comes out of my mouth is “Maybe this is like a show group for the Pope! The best of the best who get to do special extra things!”

  6. I am liking this season a lot. I think Nemo will get eliminated next judging by the preview and how he has done so far. He’s never really been at the top and he’s a bit younger than the other contestants and the younger ones never seem to go as far.

But man, it would be hard to pick between Bella, Haylin, Keaton, and Jonah for the finale as they are all so good and seem pretty equally matched. I could see Bella having a melt down/messing up, but for some reason I could also see something going horribly wrong for Keaton or Jonah and one of them has a surprise off day and goes home? I do like the bromance between Keaton and Jonah.

  7. Who are everyone’s favorites so far? I’m liking Keaton, Haylin, and Nemo, but tbh I don’t think Nemo will go much farther as it seems like he’s barely scraping by each week. Haylin is adorable with her accent and reminds me a little bit of Saylor and Brynn who are two of my other favorites from previous seasons. And Keaton just seems like the cool kid whose desserts look and taste awesome too. I was super impressed with his burger last night!

Yes, that's exactly what I thought.  It was obvious that all these people are genuinely friends and truly cared about Carl.  Everything rang true.  Carl would have enjoyed it.

I was glad Troy won too.

I feel like Troy actually winning for once was the only appropriate way to end a Carl Ruiz April Fool’s Day theme episode.

  9. Every time I watch the episode on Pluto where Kelli changed her mind about Danielle making to training camp at the last second, I always wonder if Kelli ever thinks about how good of a call that was/thank goodness she decided to change her mind last minute. I mean Danielle went on to cheer for them for three more seasons after that, was a GL, and was an all star for a while!! That would’ve been a big loss for them.

Am I the only one who thinks it is kind of strange that Jeremy would be such a boy-band superfan? Does he want to be the Backstreet Boys or does he want to be with them?

Meh.........a little, but Jeremy just turned 32. I am 31, so we would have been in middle school at the peak of their popularity back in 1999/2000/2001. For me, that was the age when I was really figuring out what music I liked/paying attention to different bands for the first time etc, and BSB was the first CD I bought with my allowance money and the first concert I went to see by my own choice. So I will give him a pass on this one just because when we were in middle school, they were everywhere!!

  11. At the risk of sounding like a horrible person, I am going to say it: I am glad Tarek was in the bottom two tonight. There’s a difference between positivity and being arrogant, and I thought he care off extremely arrogant tonight. Especially the part when he asked if anyone else was almost done with their ice cream when he knew darn well they probably weren’t! I feel like I am supposed to root for him because he’s from STL like me, but ugh. I just couldn’t with him tonight.

  12. So I’ve been binge watching the earlier seasons on Pluto TV and there is so much cringe!! I was watching one episode where the girls were on a retreat, and 6-7 girls were standing in a line with their backsides to a sketch artist while the artist sketched their bottoms.

I also noticed in Meredith Odgen’s first episode there was a scene of her with her mom getting ready for auditions, and there was a sign on the mirror that said “No cheating when eating, you want to be skinny.”

I miss Jay and the power squad segments. I miss the first round and semis in the same episode. I wonder if they still do the big sister/little sister thing? I was watching an episode this morning where Kelli straight up told them the way they were seated at the first meeting is based off of how they did at finals. So much stuff from the earlier seasons I had forgotten about.

I also feel like Kelli cares way more about appearance while Judy cares way more about their dancing ability.

As a drummer for many years, I'm confident that I could have rocked that last challenge in less than 10 minutes....of course I would have needed 11 non-elimination legs to get there. Solid season.

I feel that way about opening the bank vault! I’ve worked at a bank for 9 years and was an assistant teller supervisor for about 3 years, so I would open vaults/combination locks multiple times a day!!

She should have taken a page from Dayton because in my opinion, I think Dayton got the best deal.

Seriously tho, looking back NOT making DCC was probably one of the best things that could have happened to Dayton. Girl doesn’t make the team and then gets a job traveling the world on a cruise? Sign me up.

  15. After seeing the cakes I was hoping Paige would win. Davis is the better baker overall, but when I saw how much his cake was leaning plus the lack of cherries in his vs the way the judges fawned over the taste of Paige’s cake, I thought Paige would win. Sure her middle layer was meh, but I can’t imagine them picking a winner whose cake they thought might fall over.
