  1. I've been rewatching this show because I had forgotten a few things.  Some of the things I noticed that from the time Owen went to Germany and got Teddy pregnant (season 14 not sure of episode maybe 7?) to the time Alex leaves (Season 16 towards the end) only about a year or a bit more had passed. And so much had happened!!  This happened in no particular order because I wrote them as they came to me.

Jo's husband died and she got engaged to Alex.   April lost her faith, drank a lot, slept with a few guys.  Jackson funded a contest.  April was in charge of the contest not knowing Jackson had funded it.  Owen and Amelia fostered a baby and a teenager.  April finds her faith again. The weed cookies at the beginning of the contest presentations.  The crisis from Grandpa Avery.  The Avery Foundation becomes the Catherine Fox Foundation.  Catherine gets cancer.  April gets together with Matthew.  Betty (Amelia's foster daughter) goes to rehab, runs away.  overdoses. Teddy returns to Grey Sloan (three months pregnant). Jo and Alex's wedding and get married on the ferry.  April and Matthew get married.  Linc becomes part of the staff.  Linc tries to date Meredith.  DeLuca starts to date Meredith.  Deluca's father shows up.  Betty lets Owen adopt Leo (Amelia decides NOT to be part of the adoption).  Bailey has a heart attack.  Richard is fired and goes to another hospital.  Korashick (spelling?) is chief of chiefs.  Jo finds her biological mother.   Owen finds out that Teddy is going to have his baby.  Teddy begins to "date" Korascik (spelling).  Jo has a breakdown.  Jo and Alex get married again (forgot to send in papers after they got married the first time).  Alex is chief of staff at Pacific Hospital (where Richard works).   Owen works with Alex and Richard.  Meredith gets into trouble for insurance fraud.  Meredith does community service.  Somewhere in all of this Alex had also been interim chief of surgery for Bailey.  Somewhere in all of this Teddy has the baby.  Meredith goes before the medical licensing board.  Alex disappears and divorces Jo.

I based all these things on Teddy's pregnancy beginning when Owen went to Germany.  I'm sure I missed a few things

  2. I hated this episode!!  The only thing I liked was knowing that Jackson and April were back together (I suspected that they might be).

Actually, I hated this whole season!  From breaking up Amelia and Linc to pairing up Amelia and Kai to the stupid storyline of going to Minnesota.   I hated it all!  And I don't like the Meredith and what's his name story neither.  And Maggie, Teddy, Owen etc, etc. were annoying too!  (The only one I liked was Jo - this after going back and forth from like to dislike since she got on the show.)  Whoever said that Amelia and Kai are boring were right, it seems just to be storyline to say, "Hey, we support LGBQT community! Look at our story!" I just don't like them together or separately.  They are sooo boring and seem to have just fallen for each other so quickly - but that is what Amelia does - she has said so many, many times before.

And while I agree that it was Meredith's call to proceed with the operation (she is chief of general surgery) but how dumb to try a risky operation when there is NO BLOOD to use!!  God, this episode was infuriating!!!  Plus the whole entrapment of Owen (I suspected as much), Owen didn't give him any drugs and the guy still went after Owen.  But at this point - I DON"T CARE!!

    I hate this season!!

    Sorry, rant over!

  3. i don't think Noi planned that "scavanger hunt" at all.  She said she'd been planning it for weeks!  At that point they'd been married for less than three weeks, so she started planning on their wedding day?

Jasmine, the problem is the  person who speaks with a "tone" is you. Michael asked you for help to communicate with you and your response is not to talk with a tone. he asked for clarification and (IRC) you said something like "There's that tone".

As for Lindsey and Mark/Katina and O please just throw in the towel!

  4. I very rarely comment on this show but after last season (0/5) and watching this season - what is wrong with the "judges" who match up these couples??  They seem to really match up people who don't have anything in common.  I have a cousin who married someone that we all thought - WHAT????  Mostly because of the way he looked and how he talked (I know, pretty judgmental of us!).  He also had some interests that we knew she would not choose to participate in.  However, as time has passed and getting to know him, we realize that they have the same outlook on what a marriage should be (to them), raising children, finances, and their faith.  They also value family, commitment, and each other.  So despite that at first sight, they seem to have nothing to sustain a marriage in reality they have the important things needed in a marriage.

These couples don't seem to have even basic beliefs in common which I think is important in a marriage.  They seem to not even respect each other - case in point Mark and Lindsey, Alyssa (not Chris, he came off as respectful, diplomatic, and kind), Michael and Jasmine.  It doesn't even seem as they can be courteous with each other for an extended length of time.  I feel badly for them all (except Alyssa, I think she's delusional) because it seemed they all came in with a hopeful attitude but unrealistic ideas/goals/expectations.

Also - if a marriage only lasted ten days and not consummated is it really divorce or an annulment?

  5. I found the discussion on Presidents' Day kind of funny.  Here in California we have always gotten Feb. 12 for Abraham Lincoln and Feb. 22 for George Wahington and still do.   Now it is the Monday closest to original birthday, so we get two four-day work weeks YAY!!  I should clarify to say that this is for all public schools in the state (I don't know about other places/situations/state/city jobs).  Maybe other states don't do this?

I haven't commented in a long time but although I sometimes find Whoopi (and sometimes Sunny) annoying it has never come close to the anger/frustration/confusion I felt by a former co-host who has since left.

I can hardly wait to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt tomorrow!  He seems like such a nice person (plus my youngest nephew kind of looks like him 😊)

  6. The sportscaster person was just a tad annoying to me - I'm not sure but did she imply that school made her child feel bad about being white?  I wasn't sure about her point neither 😕

I never understood the hoopla around CRT.  It is a university subject for law students that centers around unequal justice and laws for people of color (I think that's right, please correct me if I didn't get it right).  In school we do talk about race but of course at a very basic level  ( I mostly  taught first and second grade).  We "discuss" about how we should try to be friends with everyone and to decide on being friends by the way we behave not by how we look.  My favorite discussion was when I read "The Sneetches" to my second graders.  In the middle of it, my students began to raise their hands.  I called on them and they made comments about how unfair the ones with stars were, how mean they were to the ones without stars even though they were Sneetches too.  The one that got me was when one said, "it's like Martin Luther King said."  A friend chimed in with "We're all people like they're all Sneetches."  I was gutted.  (Hope this is not OT)

  7. Wow! I am still processing the whole announcement by MM.  I actually tuned in about 10 minutes after the show began.  It seemed as if MM had already been talking for a while.
When she said something about a newborn, I thought, "She's pregnant again?"  After a bit I realized that she was talking about her daughter!  Isn't she like 9/10 months old?  I don't think that is considered newborn or am I wrong?

Her speech was gracious.  The other hosts graciously said (lied) how she is not a snowflake (I'm surprised Joy's nose did not grow), an asset to the show, etc.

And I don't care why she is leaving, the important thing is that she is leaving.

  8. I've found MM annoying these past three or four years for so many reasons - many have been "talked" about on this thread. But one thing was about how she seems to look to the side when the panel is talking/discussing.  I never really saw it and I would think to myself, "Wow, it's not enough to be annoyed with her for what she does but also really picking on a small physical tick."  So I want to apologize to those of you who have noticed it.  I truly never did until today~  She really does consistently seem to look towards the side then react with a (imo) a fake smile or laugh.  It's as if she is being instructed on what her reaction should be.  So I offer you heartfelt apology - I am sorry 😞

Meghan has mentioned more than once that she can't wait to get vaccinated so she can go out and get drunk.  She just had a baby, who has been in quarantine since she was born.  Her family, who she says she is close. has not had a chance to meet Baby Libby.  I am not mom shaming here but why is partying her top priority?  I have not seen my nieces and nephews, who live 15 minutes away, for over a year.  I have not met their 4 month old brother.  I can't wait until all of us adults are vaccinated.  I have been stocking up on books, whoopee cushions, finger paints and other activities to share with them.  Amazon has enabled me to reestablish myself as their favorite fun aunt.  What I want more than anything is to be able to have a big family dinner or BBQ.  I just do not understand where Meghan is coming from.

Oh my goodness!  I cannot  agree with you more!!  I just want to see my niece's new baby - She was born last June and I've only had glimpses of her.  And I miss her big (four year old) sister's hugs and voice too. I just want to be able to play with them. I too have over indulged in Amazon packages.  🙂

It seems as though for MM the most important thing about receiving the vaccine is getting drunk? REALLY?!

I really enjoyed Gov.  Newsome's answers to the questions -  specifically  about the recall.  He responded so well to that one - from what he said (and in line with what I have read as well) -it is being funded/pushed by Proud Boys, QAnon and other fringe groups.  I had to laugh when MM said that she would rather live in Fl than CA,  I have to admit I commented outloud, "Well, we really don't want you here neither."

  10. I found it kind of interesting that MM focused on only one word "Neanderthal" and left out the second word "thinking".  I wonder if Biden had said that the Republican governors who were discontinuing the requirement to wear a mask were using "magical thinking", would the Republicans then say that Biden thought they were "magical"?

MM is so awful, I really try to follow her thinking but it is so convoluted and disjointed that the majority of the time it doesn't make sense to me.

I love how Ana brought up the issues that two Republicans have, but that the Republican (as a whole) are only focusing on Cuomo.  Shouldn't they just lump all three together?  Maybe that's just me.

  11. I really enjoyed today's show.  Everyone had a chance to speak and respond to each other.  I have to say that Joy's comparing the Republicans to cannibalistic turtles - LOL.

  12. So I guess all the "soft maternal" attitude was used up on Monday?  It sounds as if she is back to her "old" self.  😞

The show was pre-empted here due to Congress validating the electoral votes.  How will MM react tomorrow regarding behavior of her "tribe" today?

  13. I have not commented in  a while but I have to agree with many of you who have said  the show is much better, lighter without MM being part of the panel.  I know that some people have mused that without her the conversation would just be four women agreeing with each other.  That was shown to be wrong when the panel talked about the term "defund the police".  There was push back from Sunny to Sara, Whoppie, and Joy.  Each one had their own take on it.  I found it interesting and gave me food for thought (which I think is what a discussion should do).  My family/friends have discussed the term and have had  spirited  conversations about it.  I think even within a like-minded group there are still differences in how each one looks at an issue (for example "Pro - Choice").  I'd elaborate but it might be off topic.

I have enjoyed this past week because they all seem to be light hearted (even with some heavier topics) and seem to delight being  with each other.

*I really liked how Joy explained the importance of the term Black Lives Matter.  A very clear picture of why it's important 😊

  14. I really felt for Ana.  My brother got the virus this past summer and stayed with me for about five weeks as he battled the virus and recovered.  He ended up staying in the hospital for a bit and results were he had pneumonia too.  He had a fever for over 15 days and had low oxygen levels (that's how he ended up in the hospital, not the 105 temperature!).  His case was considered mild  😯  It is infuriating after watching someone you care about go through this and there are people who still deny it!  Sorry I went off on a small rant and off-topic.

    Back to today's show:

It seems that today there was less cross talking,  Even though there were still some pauses in between when someone responded or asked a question.

I really like America Ferrera!  She seems so thoughtful when she speaks.  I think she really chooses her words carefully.  I hope to be able to see her documentary.

  15. I think it's important for Biden to participate in the debates (he has continued to say he will, although the "other" guy keeps stating that Biden won't show up) so I disagree with Joy.   Not just because it is what we, as a country, have a history of presidential debates but because it would play in the "guy in the white house" (TM Whoopie) narrative that Biden is afraid of him.  Biden showed that "the guy in the white house" could not rattle him (which seemed to be *"tgitwh" plan A, maybe his only plan).  I also think that Biden has seen the crazy and can deal with it better the next time around.

I have to add that I liked Sunny's suggestion that they should each be in a soundproof booth (where they can hear the other person but not be able to interrupt, yell, scream, have loud outbursts, lie..).  That would be great

I like the idea of either an air horn or a shock collar.

I kind of enjoyed that after the political discussion they did the segment with the judges (I watch "Hot Bench", I like it) and the one with the teacher.  Just something light to end the show with (which they can do without a certain someone saying, "I don't know anything about that," "I don't have any kids" "I'm a political analyst" - gee, I wonder who that is?)

  16. *I didn't get to see all of the show today, I know it was probably taped yesterday because of the news conference topic (yesterday's conference was even more bizarre!) were based on what "the guy in the White House" (TM Whoopie) said on Wednesday.  It's just difficult to watch MM trying to sound informed/aware/smart.

*I had to have a phone appointment with my doctor.  I am currently taking care of someone who tested positive.  I wanted info from my doctor about possible testing, any new precautions, and progress of the disease in my person.

  17. I was soooo surprised that MM took a the topic under discussion and turned it into something else.  The topic was contact tracing and how people were denying that they were at a party so that they wouldn't get in trouble.  MM's contribution - people distrust the government and they are buying a lot of guns.

Yes! My niece has been sheltering in place and had her baby on Saturday. It has not been easy but I can assure you that buying a crib in person was the least thing on her mind. The procedures she had to go through to be in hospital were troubling and challenging, but she did it. All she has been worried about is the health of her baby. Not buying a fucking crib. Oh, and she is not an heiress.

P.S. They are both doing great! rock on lol GIF

My niece had her baby on Monday!!!  Her whole family is doing well..  I just can't see the new baby for a while.

    Regarding today's show -

Boy,  Mm seemed even more angry than usual!  She constantly tells "us" that something should not be partisan and then almost immediately makes it partisan.  She seems to do this a lot.

I found the mayor articulate, concise and pretty likeable.

  19. As time goes on I just keep finding what MM says odd.  I can't think of another word at the moment.  Saying things like "You make me defend him" (referring to Trump).  As someone upthread said, "NO, you are choosing to defend him."  It's not her job to defend him, she doesn't work for him (hmm, or does she?  My own conspiracy theory!)

She talks about going out to physically buy a crib - please!  My niece was pregnant before the virus started, lost her job (don't blame employers;, they wanted to do something different that she was not qualified for), has a toddler and a pre-teen.  She and her husband have been trying to get things ready and somehow managed to get what they needed.

Then she said this - "No end in place" ??????   Does she not know any idioms in English?  This is not the first time she has gotten an idiom wrong.  I am a second language learner and I know what it should be ( no end in SIGHT).

When Whoopie was kind of teasing Joy about signing waiver for Trump's rally and they all laughed except....who else but MM.  She looked really angry.

I thought the interview with P. Floyd was good.  It must be hard to lose your brother like that and yet still try to see how it affected others to the point of trying to make changes to policies, procedures, and structure of the police system.  Sharing his memories of George to try to show him as a real person not just a symbol.  It made me sad for him and also respect for going on these interviews.

  20. I hear MM saying how difficult this terrible time has been for her as if no one else is finding it hard to do so.  Yet - she still has a job, she can work from home and she has family money if she needs it.  She even has the wherewithal to leave where she is and go back to her family home!  She has more options than the majority of the population.  She is around the same age as one of my nieces.  Right before everything began, my niece moved from one state, crossed over three states to begin a new job where she did not know a single person. Two weeks into her new job (which was her "dream" job!) she was let go and has been "staying in" for the last three months.  She has no income at the moment and it trying to get unemployment (there is a snag because she had only been in the state for about three weeks).  I have yet to hear my niece complain about her situation.  She is soldiering on and doing her best to stay afloat.  She tries to stay positive and is still looking for a job to help her through (she is hoping the company she worked for will call her once openings are allowed).  I am so proud of her independence and optimism.  I wonder how MM would do in the same circumstances?

  21. On a totally shallow note about today's show:

I was looking at MM as she spoke.  I got distracted by her eyes - she looked cross-eyed as she was speaking.  It distracted me so much I didn't listen to what she said.
