Can it be a successful restaurant though?  How far out in the wilderness are they exactly?

Well, Kristin Kish (Top Chef) just had a short run show called Restaurants at the End of the World. She learned from chefs who overcome the formidable challenges required to serve memorable meals in the most remote outposts on Earth. Episodes were on a Maine Island, in Arctic Norway, a floating restaurant in Brazil, and Panama's Cloud Forest. Most of these were very difficult to get to and yeah, they do a good deal of business in spite of it all.

If Jay makes the restaurant good enough and the food excellent, they can probably do well.

  2. There was a full ad for CSK on Animal Control  (Joel McHale's "other" show 😉) last night. I was watching a recording and went to FF the commercials. I saw "CRIME SCENE KITCHEN!" and went "whoa, whoa, back it up!" So definitely official! I didn't know it had been renewed, but I'm looking forward to a new season. 😆 See ya'll on the 22nd!

I had to take a double take when the actress who plays, Nancy one of the cellar-swelling cholera ghosts on Ghosts showed up as the janitor, especially when the two characters were so sarcastically similar.

That's pretty much her schtick. I don't think I've seen her in anything where she doesn't play similar characters. She may have, but I don't remember it. Gets really old really fast.

  4. Did not see that coming either. Aww.

Well, salad lady got a hook up. Lexi is sorely lacking in people skills. Or reading the room. Love Lauren Ash though.

This episode was probably the best one so far and it seems to be getting better. I'm predisposed to like it and give it plenty of chances because I like Gina and most of the cast a lot.

Sam has no clue how lucky she is

I just wish she'd stop telling him big fat lies about what the Ghosts are saying. It's kind of funny at the time, but it's usually to benefit herself. Tends to tarnish her character somewhat.

Its ratings for the first 3 weeks were pretty high.  That's why it got a 2nd season. Nothing surprising about that decision.

Hmm. I'd give it more than 3 episodes before I renewed! People turned in the first week to check it out and compare to NC:Original. Second and third? Give it a chance? As soon as other new shows start airing, people will be gone. Early renewals are chancy (and foolish) at best. See how it rides out for at least 1/2 a season or so before prematurely renewing!

Speaking of ratings: NBC | Leading into the SOTU, Night Court (4.3 million viewers/0.5 demo rating) dipped for a fourth straight episode since its well-watched debut, while American Auto (2.3 mil/0.3) held steady.

Am losing interest in Ruby’s story with Isla. The “mystery” is kinda blah.

I'm guessing Isla is either a mermaid or "the spirit of the island." Probably the latter, due to the bestowing of tattoos. Still, I'd like to see Ruby in a give and take relationship with someone more substantial.

That said, I like this show and the characters more than I ever thought I would.

  8. This ep was better than the past ones, but I'm still not sold. I was surprised they gave it a second season, but WTF. Not much else on on Tuesday, what the heck is going on with the new season? This and American Auto, which isn't very strong either.

Sadly, I'm not seeing any online info that Noel is leaving.  He talks about how much he'll miss Matt on the show . . . so it doesn't sound like Noel is going anywhere.

I think you're right. The article came through my phone and I think I misread it.

In my defense, I'm on heavy drugs following a total knee replacement. Gnarly! Sorry. I'm actually glad I was wrong! [Note to self: do not drug and post on Primetimer! 😔]

  10. Ditto Noel out. 😔  Prue wants someone she's heard of. (Sorry don't have more intel) Sne didn't know Matt or Noel.

I liked Noel on The IT Crew.

  11. Looks like Sobbin' Robyn got what she was aiming for: a legal, monogamous marriage to Creepin' Kody. All the real Sister Wives have gone and she remains. Unfortunately, she and Kodo will have to get real jobs after the show dies (you know they aren't saving any $$$) and he still has to pay child support on a mess of kids for a long, long time. Since he divorced Meri to marry Robyn so he could adopt her spawn from her prior (or so he said), those are his responsibility now, too. I can't wait to see how all this plays out. How soon before Robyn goes sniffin' for a new daddy. Or Kody starts looking for a new momma.  Better start soon, she isn't going to age well with that face. Hah!! So much for the upside of beautiful FLDS plural marriage. 🤣

I hope Season 2 (and 3) will get picked up in the U.S. so we can have some answers to the cliffhangers.

I hope so, too. I really enjoy the show. Unfortunately, with the changes to CW, I worry that it will become another axed scripted show. 🤞

  13. Good night, Leslie. 😢 And I'm out. This show has gone so far off the rails I can't watch anymore. I was really only watching for Leslie and was ready to quit anyway, just before he passed. Stayed on for his final episodes. A sweet finale for him.
