I would say bad directing, but the directing in general has been really, really (surprisingly) good for so much of the show lately that I have to think it was in the writing. Which gives me hope that there just might be more to this triangle after all. Time to wait and see.
(Lucy keeps putting that football out there for me and I keep going for the kick. Will I ever learn? No. I will not.)
On paper, the idea of creating a new rivalry in the younger set between Chanel and Claire is very fun and good. The execution has been, I'll say, green. Inexperience in the medium (fast takes, few takes, so many pages) exposes a lot.
That said, Chanel's Cheshire smile while Claire was freaking out made me very happy. PW knows how to make her expression pop. I think she's got *it*.

From what I remember, Allie actively leaned into the kiss when she saw it coming; it seemed entirely consensual and not a surprise. She only got skittish about it when Chanel brought her hand up to cup her face. (I'm not obsessed with this kiss, despite all evidence to the contrary, lol. I just remember feeling good about the context of it at first and then let down by the after talk.)
Unrelated: I can't wait to see what Paulina is planning. I hope it's good and fun and trouble-making.

Gabi being in 'love' with Jake is so silly. Just admit you miss that genetically identical dick already. Please.
But, in spite of that, I liked their scenes today. They got to hash things out and be adult about it and Gabi got to be right the entire time, which is all I ever ask for.
Lucas/Sami/Chloe continues to be delightful. It's so mean and so funny. Lucas trying to get "Kate's" attention had me on the floor. Sometimes these mask shenanigans, as tiresome as they are, do produce a single gem here and there.
Honestly, I'm just jazzed that *things* are *happening* on a daily basis now. I don't even care what those things are, lol. (But I do want to get back to my girl Gwen soon.)

Today was honestly so! much! I love the pace of everything ramping up to 90mph for no good reason, except to bring me joy, I guess.
STAN! I was crying at all of Lucas's faces. The camp! Just perfect. Absolutely magnificent.
It probably wasn't on purpose, won't go anywhere, (and just wishful thinking on my part,) but I really felt like Allie did enjoy that kiss more than she thought she would, or admitted to. Girl was giving Chanel a bit of a once over a couple of times there. . .
Kate popping up in the backseat like a whack-a-mole has me dyyying. Give me this ridiculous shit every Friday. I'm here for it.

One more passenger here on the Chanel/Allie train (that will go nowhere, but I will enjoy it while I can). I love Chanel's whole energy.
Dr. Snyder is definitely set up to be a heel, but oh! how I would have loved it if he had answered Shawn's asinine "It'll be a whole thing for me to get a warrant," with hearty: "GREAT. Go ahead and do your job."

The pardon scene is both the worst and the best thing ever. I just really need you to stay strong, Mikey, no more of this wavering nonsense, no matter what your cannoli-brained brothers try to convince you. PS: Go find Rosalie and work out your anger over a desk, please. And maybe against a few walls; you gotta test them from structural soundness before the city inspectors have a go.
