  1. I’ve lived in FL over 60 years, so I’m used to hurricane preparedness. Happily, technology has advanced to some pretty clever, useful, and inexpensive items to help during this time. I have a radio that runs on batteries or on solar or, as a last resort, you can crank it to rev up the power. It’s also got an outlet for cell phone recharging. Less than $50 on Amazon. I also have 3 personal-sized fans that don’t use batteries, but use an USB cable to charge it. The fans can run close to 8 hrs. before they need recharging. It can be recharged with my radio that I mentioned above. Fans are less than $40 on Amazon. These items came in handy 1 year ago during Hurricane Irma.

I like tea, but I do not like coffee. I like the smell of coffee brewing, but I do not like the taste. I also do not like chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake or chocolate milk. I love it when I was a kid, but now I cannot stand it.

    We will pray for you

I was also distracted by Alexa's face as it looks like she had some bad work done.

Jill Wagner (did she get cheek implants or botox or something?

I thought the same thing about Alexa PV and Jill Wagner. They both looked different. It’s sad to me when beautiful ladies think they need cosmetic help.

I swear Adam told Dale that the door to their room was locked so they couldn't get out? If so, most courts would mightily object to that for safety reasons..like a fire in the home.

I hope he only locked the door while they were settling down and falling asleep. Then later unlocking it before he went to bed.

  5. I live in the south and my husband and I prefer unsweetened tea. Every restaurant here serves both. However, when we vacationed in the northeast U.S. and Ontario, most restaurants we could only get sweet tea. One restaurant told us it comes presweetened in gallon concentrate. Yuck!

  6. I have some questions for those of you who have subscribed to Hallmark Movies Now because I’m thinking of subscribing:

    1. Do they show any of the new releases, in case I’ve missed some?

    2. Do they cycle the movies through? In other words, if I don’t watch one now, it might be gone from the list in a month?

    3. Are the older Hall of Fame movies part of the subscription?

    4. Would you say the subscription is worth the money?

I hope you took your gift back on general principle ?The two reception thing is still better than not being invited at all. I’ve heard of people doing two.  One example was for a pastor or deacon or something.  The cake and punch reception was for all the chirch members and fellow clergy who wanted to attend based on a professional relationship, and the sit down dinner was for the wedding party, family and close friends.  And they were a couple hours apart.  I wouldn’t do it, but I got where they were going with it.  Personally I’d rather serve everyone important to me to grocery store sheet cake and Costco sandwiches than exclude loved ones in favor of a fancy meal.  And I would rather someone do the same for me.

The Duggars shouldn’t need to make any exceptions though.  If you can afford private planes, than you can afford to feed 1000 people a cheese tray, meatballs and finger sandwiches.  Or a reasonable buffet of fish or chicken, a starch, veggies and a roll.  It’s not like they’re drinking and dancing so they could have the reception at about 2 pm and skip a fancy meal.

The groom was a wonderful young man in our church and I liked him and wanted to celebrate his wedding (yes, I gave a gift). The bride, who I did not know, was from Scotland.  Since the bride’s family paid for everything, I assumed that was the custom there, 2 receptions and not everyone invited. However, the wedding itself was beautiful. Everyone wore kilts and bagpipes played several songs. It was like watching a show. So I guess, in retrospect, I did get something out of going, just not food!

I went to a wedding once where an invite to the wedding didn't equal an invite to the reception. I had no idea what I was walking into, but when you went from the wedding area to the reception area you had to find your name. If you didn't have a name, you weren't invited in. Those invited in got a full 3 course meal. It caused A LOT of controversy. But it may be something the Duggars should consider---with warnings of course. If it's too much to feed your guests, cut it down.

I’ve been invited to 2 such weddings! I never heard of the practice, so for the first wedding, it didn’t have a return RSVP note and I thought it was an oversight. Imagine my embarrassment to find out I wasn’t invited to the reception. The second wedding, I was a little wiser. I received the wedding invitation & I knew I wasn’t invited to the reception, but imagine my surprise when I found out there were 2 receptions! One for the cake and punch (which I wasn’t invited to) and one with a sit down dinner for the “close” friends.

  9. I just read one of those stupid articles you click on in Facebook. It said the following trends are on their way out: white kitchens, wallpaper (I thought that was already out), white subway tile and white marble counters. The only thing missing, in my opinion, is gray walls. Someone better tell House Hunters!

  10. I really enjoyed the entire episode. The story line was so much more interesting than ones done by the “D” family.

I loved the segment with Michaella teaching her sisters to sew. That Callie is so stinkin’ CUTE AND ARTICULATE (notice I used capital letters ala Jill R. ?). I have a question though...Zach mentioned he had a tree job. You think he’s doing it as a side job or did he quit the police force? (By the way, Zach, too, is very articulate. Their dining room table school must have been more advanced)

  11. Re the Chicago chick who wanted the downtown loft. Really? You find a house, under budget, 5 mins. from work and you insist on living downtown so you can go to the bars? Isn’t it time to grow up? Does she go to the bars every night? Seems like you could buy the closer house for the daily commute and drive into the city on Saturday night for the night life.

  12. “Bure will anchor a book adaptation of Beth Harbison’s A Shoe Addict’s Christmas. The Fuller House star plays Noelle, a holiday hater who toils in a department store in which she is accidentally locked on Christmas Eve. There, she meets a woman who identifies herself as Noelle’s guardian angel and introduces her to several “ghosts” of Christmases past, present, and future.”

I hope “A Shoe Addict’s Christmas “ turns out to be a good movie, I really enjoyed the book.

  13. “Chabert will star in a different book adaption: Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe, which is based on Melissa de la Cruz’s book of the same name.”  It will be interesting to see how the writers change this story to make it more Hallmark-ish.  The original story isn’t exactly up to Hallmark’s usual moral standards.

  14. I was at a community pool today when 2 twenty-ish Mennonite girls walked in wearing their full Mennonite garb of shin-length dresses, aprons, and little white caps. They went into the restroom to change and guess what they were wearing??? NORMAL BATHING SUITS!!!! Now why do the Mennonites, who are almost as modest as the Amish, wear regular suits and the Duggars wear those horrible, full-length swim dresses?

The couple didn’t seem like a couple. It seemed like they were still in a roommate relationship. There just didn’t seem to be any heat between them.

I agree. He even sounded a little sarcastic towards her.

  16. I just watched the episode with the couple from Orange County. None of the houses stood out to me, but they did buy the nicest one. I don’t think the couple was married and they first got together as roommates then it grew to something more. Then I changed the the channel and a commercial came on for Theraworx Relief and the lady, Nakisa was on it! They used her name so I’m sure it was the same lady. Her hair didn’t seem to have as many gray streaks in it.  It was a medication for muscle cramping relief and Dr. Drew Pinsky was the spokesperson. So coincidental!

None of the "saved" belief makes sense to me. I feel like it's often used as a 'stay out of hell free' card. A 7 year old saved child who kicks a bed can ask God for forgiveness, but a 5 year old 'unsaved' child who pushes his sibling down is doomed for hell? Well doomed for hell unless they get saved at age 6?

There is such a thing of an age of accountability, which varies from individual to individual depending on their maturity. I don’t believe that there are any children in hell. Although some children do get saved at 6, I believe there’s road to spiritual maturity that has to take place.

I still have no idea what missionary aviation actually is , flying planes and throwing bibles at unsuspecting victims instead of dropping bombs on them ? And as always with these KJV purists , do they have any idea of the unbiblical lifestyle of the KJ in the V ? Maybe they think KJ is King Jesus

Our church supports a missionary aviation firm that flies twice a week out of southern Florida. They take supplies to Caribbean countries each week and also ferry missionaries back and forth out of these countries. This work is not for the faint of heart. They fly old airplanes, some from WW11. They work for almost no pay and at times fly in supplies on damaged runways after natural disasters like Haitian earthquake and many hurricanes. It’s a very noble ministry.
