  1. I have had nothing but love for Fitz this season. Until Abby sat down and I said "don't ask her about Olivia", and what does he do? Ugh.

I continue to find Mellie the most interesting character, I'm still holding out hope for her and Fitz!

  2. I don't know how unpopular this is, but man, I haaaaaaaate the way Lorelei acted in Teach Me Tonight. First of all, I get it. It's scary to hear your kid was in an accident, but for fuck's sake, even after she saw Rory was fine besides the wrist, she still way overreacted. And screaming at Luke that she and Rory are more important than Jess? Ugh. It's Lorelei at her worst.

And then, after screaming at him in the middle of the street and blaming him for everything and telling him to go to hell, she thinks she can just waltz into the diner, be "adorable", and he'll forgive her?! Have I said "ugh" yet?

    ETA: more ranting.

  3. Totally agree on all the acting praise and I'll add some more for Carrie C***. She made an awesome Go.

You had to really look to see Affleck dong. Even knowing it was coming (ahem), you really couldn't see anything. NPH's was much more obvious.

Anyway....I loved it. I did feel like it dragged a bit, but I blame that on my decision to see it at 8 pm on the Thursday of an already long week. There was nothing I would have cut out and wouldn't have minded it being a little longer. Somehow, even though I read the book, I did not remember at all that she killed Desi. What a wacko.

  4. I think RO looked adorable today! It was a little discordant with the others' dressier outfits, but she wasn't wearing ratty faded old sweats.

As long as Palin keeps putting herself out there sounding like an idiot, she's fair game.

  5. Gervais hosted the Golden Globes for the first time in 2010 and "The Dundies" aired in 2005.

Speaking of "The Dundies", I'm reaching season 2 and it's one of my favorite episodes ever. I say "I feel god in this Chili's tonight" way more often than appropriate. Another favorite is "Office Olympics", Kevin putting the wrong hand over his heart during the medal ceremony never fails to crack me up. Kevin is my favorite .

  6. Has Whoopi always done the "uh huh... right... uh huh.... uh huh" thing when other people are talking or is this new? I never noticed it before, but it's been years since I watched regularly. Whatever, it's really annoying and makes the interview/discussion more about her than the person actually saying something of substance (what a change!). You don't need to let them know you're listening. That's your job.

  7. I very rarely think a movie should be longer than it is, but I would have watched the Altmans for another 2 hours if I could have. So much material, so many great actors, so little time!

I thought all of the sibling scenes were so great - Judd and Wendy on the roof, Judd and Phillip at the end... this movie hit all of my sweet spots.

  8. I think my first movie star crush was Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music. To say I was devastated when I found out that wasn't him singing would be an understatement!

Second was probably George Clooney in One Fine Day. I was not afraid of his dark chocolate layer.

  9. Rainbow Rowell is my newest favorite author. I only have Landline left to read and I'm stalling because I don't want to be out of her books!

Old favorites: Margaret Atwood, Gillian Flynn, Tom Perotta. And Jodi Picoult, Nicholas Sparks, and James Patterson are my go-to authors for quick fluff.

  10. I haven't watched the show since Joy left, but Rosie's return is putting the show back in my Hulu queue. I'm really happy they picked Nicolle Wallace for the Republican voice. Granted, I only know her from her appearances on Rachel Maddow's show, but she's never made my blood pressure rise like most other Republicans on TV. She's smart and sane and I'm looking forward to respectful debates on the show. it will be a true test as to whether Rosie can discuss politics calmly, because she won't get a rise out of Nicolle like she could Elisabeth.
