  1. Here is the thing that is bugging me...

They are already married religiously. Islamic law is pretty clear on how a divorce should be settled. So why do they need a pre-nup? If they are religiously married, they also should have done a Nikah or marriage contract that would have spelled a lot of this out.

I noticed that Mark is the plaintiff.  Wouldn't be surprised if he has another 19-year-old Filipina lined up.  I don't know about marital laws in Maryland, but given that he had her sign a prenup, can't help but wonder if she gets anything.

Right, I don't need to see them, I just wonder who's caring for them on all these spontaneous nights out that Hen and Karen are enjoying.

Hen's mother is living with them

How did the spider get out? Why did the habitats have gigantic doors instead of small openings to stick the tongs in, for the feedings?

As someone into exotic pets, I immediately recognized the cages the tarantulas were in - those are Exo Terra Terrariums. The glass doors are large because  you need to be able to clean up the cages as well as change them around to provide stimulation and enhancement. Keeping tarantulas can be a pretty expensive and difficult hobby, especially some of the more exotic ones that require very specific temperature ranges and humidity.

I don't have spiders. I have frogs and an adorable lavender hognose snake. However, the communities overlap quite a bit and you often see arachnid breeders at reptile shows.

I am also confused with the two women who are married to each other, wouldn't they be a throuple?

It could be totally just for legal reasons - maybe it is cheaper for Wife #1 to carry Wife#2 on her insurance? Maybe it made more sense in taxes?

I have poly friends who have legal marriages based solely on tax benefits.

Was that the reason they chose Detroit?  I must have missed or forgotten that.

I personally liked that it was about hip hop since I'm from the Bronx and loved the old school stuff when it first came out.  I still have my Sugar Hill Gang and Grandmaster Flash 12 inch singles.  Also perhaps it might be more relevant to Dele because it was the root of all present day hip hop music.

I am guessing they chose it because there is a large Nigerian diaspora in Detroit. Folks who immigrate tend to choose cities with large groups of immigrants from their home country for support.

  7. My partner is a firefighter/paramedic and with overtime it is easy to bank ridiculous amounts of PTO. Los Angeles County might also have paternity leave as well. I didn't really have to suspend too much disbelief that he had the time to take.

  8. I've been following Paedon on TikTok and he is a remarkable young man.

This video seems to speak volumes about his upbringing

In this one he speaks about his body issues as a child and how the show made it worse.

And if I were just watching this video and did not know his background I would assume he was the child of lesbian parents

  9. In addition to all of his other sins, Kodouche was driving and filming after his COVID test. That is reckless and irresponsible but not really surprising. He throws a fit about his rules but he's far more likely to have a car accident.

I know some folks get tested via their university.

As much as we dislike Kody, his covid precautions  message was on point and reasonable at the time.  Janelle’s  half assed argument didn’t really provide a valid excuse for how socializing with people outside of your household makes sense. You could  tell that even she  didn’t even believe in what she was saying. She just can’t stand up to her sons.  Sad.  And Christine doesn’t even bother to say she tries to use precautions.  Kody can be a jerk, but I’m glad I saw Christine’s attitude on this. It’s not like I had thought.  She took the lead on ignoring covid precautions and she can’t use Kody as an excuse for that.  My friends’ teens socialized outside with masks on for a reasonable amount of time and didn’t go into each others home or ride in a car together.  It’s a commitment thing.

There were two pages, if I am not mistaken, and we only saw one.

That’s…..interesting…. So technically Christine could just cancel the policy once ysabel is done and reapply for one if she gets a torn ligament like  an ACL for instance,  claim the surgery and then cancel it again? What an amazing way to trick the health system and health insurance. (Me being sarcastic here)

Yep that would work brilliantly for the Brown clan, so long as there’s no real emergency of course.

There is an enrollment window each year to sign up, and I believe it is actually right now. So they can't just pick up insurance willy nilly via the exchange.

I think it's a valid discussion, because they used to make a big deal about who did or didn't have "the DCC look" on the show, and like it or not, looks are a big part of being an NFL cheerleader (and especially a DCC). I remember one season where Kelli and Judy were commenting that one girl's face made her look like a grandma. I can't remember whether or not she made it, but it was an ongoing topic of discussion that they liked her dancing but thought she wasn't pretty enough to be a DCC.

I feel like there are plenty of dance jobs where looks don't matter, but DCC isn't one of them. If you choose to make yourself a public figure by joining a reality show while auditioning for an NFL cheerleading squad that heavily promotes its members as sex symbols, conversations about your looks are fair game. Just my opinion!

I think one thing that makes the DCC unique in this regard as far as the "look" is that they are a pure dance squad. Other teams have a mixed dance/stunt team more in like with high level college cheer and competitive cheer. To perform those kind of stunts requires a completely different body type.

The Saints are a good example. They have male and female members, ranging in age from 20-40. Their uniforms were redesigned to be less "sexy" and it's a lot more diverse.

  14. I really want to give casting some credit for actually casting a low vision actor to play someone who is blind/low vision. Stephen Wallem lost his vision in one eye and partially in the other to type 1 diabetes.

As someone with low vision I could tell from his cane use he was either actually B/LV or had a real trainer.

This was my take on things, too. I don’t think Christine has given up on polygamy any more than your average divorced person has given up on monogamy.

One thing that surprised me, from the few books I’ve read about Mormon polygamy, was the numbers of older women, women past childbearing age, that were taken from one man and given to another, as men fell into and out of favor with the leadership.  I suppose having a large number of wives is considered a sign of “God’s” favor, and it doesn’t matter if the man is attracted to all of them (or can get all of them pregnant) as long as some of them meet that criteria.  I don’t know if the AUB behaved that way, but it certainly seemed common among the books I read.

I fear Christine will get back into the AUB’s good graces (maybe via her family) and wind up married to some other man who’s even less interested in her than Kody was.  If that’s possible.

The AUB is one of the more "liberal" sects. They don't seem to do the whole reassigning  of wives or have super arranged marriages.

That being said, I could see Christine marrying into a new family that had younger kids if she met the right man.  Maybe we can have her on a reverse season of Seeking Sister Wife.

That was just terrible, terrible writing.

Also doesn't Dev oversee his new girlfriend? Is that allowed?

They are in different departments. He is a hospitalist/ER resident and she is a surgical resident.

Avery and Omar are people i would actually like to see, because their storylines would be interesting and authentic. A newly married couple, cultural adjustments, Omar’s schooling, Avery & Omar being Muslim while the rest of her extended family is not.

I think Omar is cute, and I thought he seemed like he would treat Avery well. I’ve found that people who convert to a religion are often more devout than people raised in that religion(which makes sense)- I think Avery’s sincere and was committed to being a wife to Omar, and he may have wanted an USC bride but I don’t think he will hold her past against her. He also has a skill and is capable/interested in supporting a family.

But I 100% understand why they are done with this franchise and just want to live their lives. Public Instagram is one thing (they can control it and it’s just photos) but a camera following you and the asinine storylines can be too much and probably not healthy for the marriage.

One thing I know about converts in Islam is that most other Muslims won't hold their pre-Islamic life against them. It's essentially wiped clean when they convert.

I mention CPS time and again because I think this is emotionally abusive to the kids. Brainwashing them into believing that they have yet another mommy who will be abandoning them at some point, usually sooner rather than later, is not healthy. For (d)Ick and Dannnielle’s sons, it becomes even more tragic because they are older and are being taught that their mother really has no say in the family. I divorced my ex because he wanted a second family while being married to me and my sons. I didn’t want my sons to grow up thinking that that was okay.

It sucks but sadly I don't think anything they are doing rises to the legal definition of abuse. There is a very wide berth given to parents when it comes to the moral and religious upbringing of their children.

I don't have a problem with polygamy in theory. You do you and I'll do me. However, I feel the same way about Dimitri as I do Sidian-if they were really that evolved and "woke" then they'd allow brother husbands. They can call themselves free spirits or wrap it in whatever gift paper they like, but it's still sexist. I have more respect for people like the Winders and the Allredges; they don't allow polyandry either, but at least they have religious reasons for their beliefs. The others are just making shit up as they go and pretending it's all for the women's benefit. Newsflash, Dimitri and Ashley: goddesses were polyamorous.

A lot of the language that Sidian uses is much more from the polyamourous community and they talk a lot about compersion aka being happy in someone else's happiness. I would not be surprised if they are polyamourous off camera.

And Owen already told his co-workers about expecting 'his' new baby-awkward.

That has to have been the most unrealistic bunch of firefighter/EMT physiques ever (in the strip down scene). I don't care how fit they have to be, I bet in real life there would be a bunch of pot bellies, love handles, shorts with holes in them, and tattle-tale grey bras with one strap held up by a safety pin.

My partner has been a firefighter paramedic for 10 years. He likes to "hate watch" this show. That was his extremely loud comment to me during this scene.
